Decided to stay one night at this place while passing thru the area and were pleasantly surprised. From the outside the charm is fantastic and once inside the staff we equally charming. We were upgrading from a standard Inn room to a courtyard room with jetted tub, fireplace and a ground floor sitting area which we were very thankful to have. We also had dinner and breakfast which were both well worth the money and the view from the dining room you just couldn't beat.
Although there were some great positives there are quite a few negatives also. Some are just the nature of the Inn itself and others are maintenance issues.
First note, if you are staying in the Inn itself, I think this would be the quietest area of the resort. Not a lot of people coming and going etc. We however were staying in the courtyard area which has a volleyball area directly in front, cottages on the left side and a lake front patio directly in view. It might be good for a girl's weekend away or a family weekend but for people who want quiet, forget it. We were there in the fall and there was pretty much no one there but i could see how that would differ in the warmer month.
Second note, if you are a light sleeper forget staying on the ground floor of the outside lodge. The floors are so squeaky from above that a guest leaving at 5am kept me awake until he finally left and hour later.
Third note, this place is charming but borders on run down. The owners have done a marvelous job of keeping this old place maintained but looks like you could sink 2 million dollars into it just to get it up to a "well maintained" standard. Very old, jetted tubs, floors that i thought i was going to fall thru and a side table light that i had to unscrew the bulb to turn it off.
Lastly, if you want a nice getaway in the Haliburton area for a night or two and don't want to break the bank, you want waterfront, and you want a good meal that you don't have to travel into town for then this is the place. I would suggest a lakeside cabin or an Inn room with a view but steer clear of the courtyard area.
Now, if you're doing a girl's weekend or a guy's weekend away and your more of a mature crowd, then this would be a great fit for you and your friends. the guys can go fishing, the girls can rest and relax on the beach, and everyone can meet up at the lakefront patio and enjoy a great meal and few drinks. the choice is yours!

Wonderful place for staying - Superior Chalet (Honey Moon cottage) has located on the first line from the lake - only few steps to a private deck. Spectacular view to the lake from the window of the Chalet and patio. Awesome comfortable cottage with jaccuzzi and fairplace. Andrea (owner of Bonnie View Inn resort) and her staff always welcoming and friendly. We are planning to come back for sure. One from the only few the best cottages in Ontario which we know. Thank you Andrea, see you in month! Cheers Elena and Igor :)

With travel outside Canada not realistic during the current health situation we decided to stay within Ontario. We looked forward to a change of scenery and although we found some cheaper options booked at Bonnie View based on the reviews. The location is lovely but the resort and equipment is in need of maintenance. Everything in the room looked old and dingy. The resort offers free boats & bikes but the bikes were rusty, some had no air in the tires and were in need of tune ups. The helmets were dirty and most were cracked.
In the evenings the office/ lounge closes at 9pm so there is nothing to do. We had been told we could light the fire pit but as non smokers, we had no matches or lighter.
We felt we had no choice but to go to bed early, only to be woken up by a group that decided to party on the lawn and dock area... playing music, talking loudly and had no consideration for others. They were also throwing their cigarette butts on the ground, and into the lake.
The walls must have very little insulation as once the party people left and we tried to go back to sleep we could literally hear someone snoring...
In the morning we tried to shower and were prepared that it may take time for the water to get hot but even when it warmed up there was hardly any water pressure, certainly not enough to wash long hair.
The breakfast was great - freshly cooked and tasty. It was however more expensive than had been indicated online. Not a big deal but just added to our disappointment.
Now I remember why many people do not travel within Canada.... too expensive at $200 per night with no meals.

Easy check in. Very pleasant staff in reception and restaurant. WE had no contact with cleaning staff due to covid restrictions, no room service, I cannot comment. Very clean, towels delivered in a plastic bag for sanitation issues, I guess. They took care of the covid situation. I felt safe.
The facility is a bit run down, we were in a renovated room but the old/antique huge furniture, took away the feeling of clean and cozy. Shower is a bit tight but water was warm and had good pressure. View of the lake partially obstructed by restaurant/bar. The room had kettle, coffee maker, microwave and fridge.
Excellent service in dinning room. Food not so good. They tried their best though.

Stayed one night in a jacuzzi suite/ lakeview room. Great location on the lower level. Joined others on the patio for happy hour. Cocktail of the day for $6 and appies half price from 3-5. Apps were delicious and drinks were so tempting, we had two! Continued on for dinner and pulled pork sandwich was huge and delicious. Service was very attentive from Delaney ❤️ Breakfast the next morning features another beautiful view and a very filling and delicious eggs Benedict and two eggs special. Service, views, location and food all top notch! Very excited to return in the future!

The cabin is very old, the bathroom grout has the black things (or is it mold) on the grout, this is expected for old bathrooms. Mini fridge works, microwave works. No A/C, good thing there are fans in each room. THe cabin is very small and very dimly lit (only lamps). It is not worth the price we paid for. The staff is ok.

Loved our room, spacious for our stuff and bicycles, quiet and super comfy bed. The patio serves pub food (burgs, beer, falafel wraps, nachos, hummus platter etc). We ate there one night and relaxed and enjoyed the lake. Super spot.

We stayed at Bonnie View (family of 4; 2 parents and 2 young kids) for 6 nights in early July. there is something for everyone at Bonnie View, with relaxing mornings by the lake for adults, plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained on the water, and a great vibe and food on the patio in the evenings. The staff are incredibly warm and friendly. We experienced a true "first" in customer service at Bonnie View as our rental car got a flat tire, and Ryan (one of the owners) personally managed to patch and repair the tire perfectly, which averted a major potential headache during our travels. We extend warm thanks to the whole team at the resort.

Wonderful staff and owners, incredible food from the new chef, best mussels i have ever had. Great location on a pristine lake, wonderful swimming, loved the loon calls, awesome sunsets, a true gem, lots of things to do in the area. Almost all the rooms are freshly renovated, even the ones that aren't retain rustic charm of places like Chateau Montebello. A true gem.

Likely the only way is to take a taxi from either Minden or Haliburton. Without knowing your start point it is difficult to advise you how to reach either town. Probably bus service exists.
