We didn’t stay at this Inn, although it looks very nice ... almost new. Judging by the outside, lobby area and washrooms, it isn’t very old or has recently been renovated. We had a delicious lunch in the dining room (which also seems to be a branch of Pizza Delight.) They offer a nice selection of sandwiches, soups & salads. My husband said his toasted ham/cheese was the best he’s eaten. Our server was friendly and professional. Prices were very reasonable.

A group of 3 couples on ATV who last stayed here in 2021. All of us definitely noticed a decline in the quality of service. From the front desk, to the restaurant, to the lounge. It seemed that staff just didn’t care. No one was pleasant. Check in was very slow. Taking our orders in the restaurant and lounge was slow. Food delivery to the table was slow. Food quality was mediocre at best. Pizza Delight selections such as pizza and pinwheels looked nothing like they did on the menu. Rooms are showing their age, with a couple of the rooms smelling, dripping faucets, Tv not working, no Wi-Fi, etc.
The lack of caring was reinforced when we could see from our room window that the dirty dishes from a group of 6 served at the outdoor patio one evening were left on the table all night. That’s not good enough.
Unless we hear that things improve before our next trip, we’ll skip this place and ride on to the Sea Echo motel in Port Aux Choix.

The hotel looks fairly nice when you walk into the main entrance as it has been renovated. However, our room itself was unbelievably damp. It was so damp that the bed sheets and pillow felt wet. The heat needs to be kept on or this will happen. I guess turning the heat off when the rooms are empty is a cost-saving measure, but it makes for a very uncomfortable stay. We were driving up the coast and decided to break up the trip by staying somewhere in the middle. In retrospect, I wish we had done the drive in one day and stayed in our much nicer accommodations in Raleigh.
On a positive note, the staff were pleasant and the restaurant was very good.

This hotel is extremely lacklustre. The rooms themselves are very small and look to have been hurriedly and poorly renovated in the recent past. The two different floor types in our room had a big gap and a very poorly glued transition that still left a space with glue all over the floor. The door to the room also had a massive gap at the bottom so tons of light came into the room from the main hallway.
The air conditioning unit, apparently the only source of heat in the space, was poorly fitted in the wall with a visible gap from outside to in. Our visit was in May so it didn't let in a ton of winter air, but that would be extremely cool in winter!
The sink and toilet/shower are in separate spaces, and the faucet for the sink was connected reversed so cold was on the left and hot on the right. I was told to wait a while for the water to get to temperature, but I wound up waiting longer than I had to because I was trying to run hot from the cold side.
The bathroom was mostly clean except for urine on the toilet bowl. The top comforter on the bed was stained, and there were suspect white stains on the curtains.
The curtains on the window were also located directly above the heating unit, so if you wanted to heat the room, you had to blow the curtains all over and let in the light from outside. There was a parking area outside the room so headlights coming and going was a problem if the curtains were unsecured in place with a heavy weight.
The lady at the desk downstairs was rushing back and forth to help folks in the restaurant/pub space as well as the front desk, looking far too busy.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. If you need to stay in the area, choices in Port au Choice would be better.

Booked a cabin for a family of 4 for a night away , got there , checked in and the cabin was absolutely disgusting! Stained pillow cases with hair .. chair was destroyed.. floor wasn’t even clean .. I couldn’t let my children sleep there never mind myself .. complained .. and the front desk lady was very sweet, told me that they have had lots of complaints and that the owner won’t be doing anything about it .. she refunded me ..this place wasn’t fit for an animal ,, never mind people !

When we stayed at the hotel, it looks like there were only two rooms booked. The hotel looked pretty desolate but is actually newly-renovated! The room looks cramped, which we didn't mind.
There was just no microwave in the room, so the food we ordered back in Deer Lake, we ate them pretty cold. The lobby offered to warm our food in their kitchen, but we declined as we just needed to sleep to catch the ferry the next day and we drove all the way from St. John's.
The hallway noise was actually pretty apparent. Floors were creaking. The washroom actually had pretty nice quality too. We just didn't realize that there were extra towels in the drawers, oops!

The customer service availability at this hotel is non existent. We checked in at the check in on time and was told to come back later. Our meal was a disaster. First we were told that several of the items on the menu were not available. We ordered from the menu and were told when one meal was delivered that the other meal was not available. We ordered chicken and after a long wait it was delivered mostly raw. Then I had to order something I didn’t really want but it was the last thing available. The meal was a disaster that consumed almost two hours. Avoid this location at all costs.

The thing most noticable about Newfies (Newfoundland people call themselves) is there friendlyness and helpfulness. Between the people at Parks Canada (Gros Morne and L'anse aux Meadows) and everyone else I interacted with made my visit very much worth while and memorable. That being said, back to Torrent River Inn. Located north of Gros Morne half way up the peninsula from Deer Lake. The Inn has many rooms and nice restaurant and a laundry. The staff was terrific and price reasonable.
About 100 meters north of the Inn there is the start point of a 3KM boardwalk along the river ,which ends at a fish ladder and a interpretive center (currantly being built). Beware that 3KM walk turned into a 7KM walk. the walk is not a loop. I made my way along a gravel road to the highway and back to the hotel. At the beginning of the boardwalk was a few platforms constructed for people in wheel chairs to be able to fish the river. There are stairs about 1 KM into the walk . It was a beautiful walk.

This place is the biggest dump I've ever stayed at. There was a piece of used gum on the Kleenex box in our room. The rooms are nasty. The entire place is run down. I don't think they reinvest a single dime into the motel.

We stayed here for one night on the way to the Viking Trail and Quirpon Island. It has a Pizza restaurant which is also the place to have breakfast. This is the only place to eat for miles so it's there or go without. The service is not the best. We also stayed there on our way back but the service was even worse. It's saving grace is that it has free Wi-Fi.
