The hotel has an excellent location, in the financial district, close to the transports, restaurants and shopping centers. It is very easy to walk from the hotel to the main attractions. Also close to the hotel there is a supermarket. Mosser Hotel don´t have breakfast, however in the moning they have tea and muffins for the guests.Usually on friday they also have the wine time. The staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful. We travelled during the night from LA to San Francisco,we arrive in the morning at hotel and our room was already ready.
The hotel has a excellent price/quality for what they offer.
The rooms are small and cozy, not fancy but very practical and they have everything you need for a good stay. We stayed in the 7º floor and we don't hear almost any noise. The room didn´t have safe deposit box, however in the reception is possible to leave what you want in a safe deposit box located in the reception. One thing the room should have is a fridge and a kettle. We will return..

The Mosser Hotel, which began in 1913, is undergoing a further updating, while still much of its old world Victorian charms. A large inviting lobby with friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, polite, prompt and professional staff are there to greet you upon your arrival, check you, and answer any questions you may have about the hotel, the surrounding areas or the city in general. Covid regulations were still being followed which meant limited housekeeping staff in the room, which was not an issue. I stayed in one of the newly renovated deluxe queen rooms on the top floor and it was wonderful. The room was clean and of a nice size for San Francisco. It consisted of an arm chair, a table area, comfortable bedding and ample pillows, a flat screen TV, a nightstand, a ceiling fan, along with plenty of additional reading lights. The closet offered both an iron and ironing board. The bathroom was fully updated with a walk in shower, corner sink and medicine cabinet. There were ample towels on rackets above the toilet, as well as a window to allow the steam to escape. As I was fortunate enough to have a corner room, there were large windows on two walls allowing for an abundance of natural light into the room. The Mosser is conveniently located between Market and Mission streets, allowing access to cable cars, Bart/Muni stops, major department stores, as well as movie complexes and varieties of restaurants to numerous to even try and mention.

I felt like the Mosser was great value for money, the room had everything you needed.
The hotel is clean and the staff were very friendly and happy to help. The location is a bonus as everything is in walking distance.
Will definitely be staying with them again.

I have a number of issues with The Mosser, and it starts with that they should state clearly on their website that rooms are NOT air conditioned. I'm guessing this could be a big issue for those with allergies. Secondly, they state on the website that muffins and coffee are available in the lobby in the morning, and on our first of five mornings there, I went to the lobby and was told that they no longer offer that service. Third ... if your looking for the robe that is offered in each room - forget it. They are not to be found and that service too is not offered. On the 3rd eve. of or stay, we noticed that our towels hadn't been changed, so we called the desk. A maintenance person brought shower towels promptly, but no face towels or wash cloths. (I guess we should have been more specific with our request?) And last, if you in fact choose to stay at The Mosser in spite of everything, request they not book you on a room along the alley. The homeless of San Francisco camp there and rummage the dumpsters all night, banging the lids.

The only thing that is making me give The Mosser a (2) rather than a (1) is it's location. They are about 5 blocks from the end of the line for the trolley which would take you to Fisherman's Wharf, we walked to Chinatown, Coit Tower, and there is a Trader Joe's (groceries, etc.) right next door.

There is NO way this is a three star hotel. The room is so small I can probably lay on the floor and have my toes on one wall and touch the opposite wall. The sink is not even in the bathroom. I almost got up the wrong time because the clock is an hour off. The room does not get dark because light shines in from above the door from the hallway. There is no thermostat in the room. The lumpy bed isn't even made with a fitted sheet. There is some button halfway behind the bed's headboard that I am going to guess used to turn on the ceiling fan, but whatever the case I can't figure out how to turn on the ceiling fan. And note the time of this review. I am sending it now because I am having trouble falling asleep. Again, no way a 3 star hotel, best case 1.5 and that is kind. Oh yeah, at the check in counter is says they will give you a $25 gift card if you leave a trip advisor review. I think reviews have obviously been bought or faked and you guys fell for it and I paid the price.

The room was very clean. The people working at the front desk were very welcoming. It’s quiet when it comes to the noise that’s coming from outside the hotel. However, you could still hear people walking down the hall or talking to each other from time to time which is not that big of a deal if you have your headphones on.

All in all, I really liked staying at this hotel. The neighborhood feels safe and everything is walking distance from the hotel (restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, retails stores etc …). I would definitely recommend it to other people especially if you are someone who want things to be organized and tidy.

Great stay !!

I enjoyed my stay here. Wife and I stayed in a deluxe queen sized room and it was perfect for us. The location is great for walking around the heart of the city and Kevin at the front desk was very helpful. Thanks Kevin!

Although the surrounding streets — Market and Mission from 4th street up — can be quite dicey after hours, if one is at the The Mosser to have a safe, quiet and secure night, you've come to the right place. While the room I was in was on the smallish size, it was impeccably clean, the linens crisp and the towels flawless. Clearly, this hotel's housekeeping staff makes an effort to provide quality amenities. Set in an older building, I expected to smell cigarette smoke in the hallways and even in my room, but that was certainly not the case. I highly recommend The Mosser.

Unhelpful staff, no cleaner for days due to covid restrictions they say I don’t think so they are walking around with no masks ! No coffee machine in rooms no bar as stated on booking .com room extremely small meant to be for 2 there is no room to even put one case down on the floor having to walk round that ! Every time I went to the desk for help ie to see where transport travelled to the6 had no idea or could have been a bit more helpful ie had maps printed to assist no maps for nothing or even just said I will look for you no none of that I’m afraid.
Travelling on your own is hard enough but to state they have a bar where I would have felt safe and then had no bar that’s bad ! Spent quite a lot of time in my room at night I got more info and a map from other hotel nearby bad management why no maps it’s cost little to provide that for visitors from abroad ? It doesn’t have to be colour just a maps of the area
Will never stay again and I’m now questioning wether I would use booking.com not good

The smallest hotel room I ever stayed in. Not enough room to change your mind. Room was clean, has a tiny bathroom but the sink was outside of that in the room. View was of another room across a small alley maybe 10 feet from the windows. Pictures on the website were deceiving, making the facilities look more grand. Room rate was $250 and there was another $133 in taxes and fees. This would be an ok room for a single guy going to the Giant's game if the rate was $150. Neighborhood is sketchy, walking over three homeless in the block, probably why you can't enter the lobby from the outside without a key.

Does this hotel have parking? And if so, does it cost?
Answer from Yvonne O
San Francisco, California
Thank you for your inquiry. The hotel offers Valet parking for a flat rate of $57.00 standard and $67.00 oversized vehicle which includes unlimited in & outs. On the day you check out your car is good until 3 pm. Another alternative would be to self-park @ the 5th & Mission garage next block from us. They offer hourly parking which ranges from $1.50 to $3.50 an hour and maxes out to $34.00 for 24 hours. Guest are welcome to pull over in front the hotels 15 minutes loading/unloading zone and proceed with check in at the Front Desk. The bellman can help you with Valet or direction to the garage.

Sorry, We take advantage of the bay area's excellent public transport, BART. and as mentioned the Powell station is close. around $10 a person/trip. From the Mosser it's a great walk to Coit tower, down through telegraph hill on stairs and ramps that go between quaint neighborhood then to pier 23 Cafe for tasty eats. We were there in crab season. if not the bloody mary's were good at the bar.
