We found the Suite we booked to me quite satisfactory in that we were able to prepare our Breakfast and an Evening Meal. The Front Desk staff, while having to work under COVID 19 restrictions went above and beyond as it were to ensure we wanted for nothing, even providing an after hours contact number. The suite had 2 entrances, one from the inside, the other from off a small deck leading from our Parking slot. You are a short distance from a small Shopping Mall so ‘last minute groceries’ are very available. We ate our first Evening arrival meal in their Restaurant. Excellent service and a typical OMG Huge Scoff of food, so much so on my plate I could not finish the Hot Roast Beef and fries with..yes Gravy. Thank you for the Veterans Discount, much appreciated.

Really great spot. Had a suite with two bedrooms and shared bathroom. Beds were the softest ever. Lots of pillows. Bathroom was dated but fine. Water pressure in shower not great. Each bedroom had its own little sink and mirror. One bedroom was extra large with a small couch coffee table mini fridge microwave and coffee maker and fixings. We had breakfast downstairs and it was delicious. Our waiter Nick was super friendly and a fantastic server. We would stay here again.

This is a very outdated hotel. I heard they were renovating but I never witnessed anything updated for at least 20 years and that includes the stained old carpet. The room was fairly small for a double room and I felt it was not overly cleaned. The beds were clean and comfortable but the carpet haven’t had a good clean or vacuum in awhile. The bathroom was okay but tiny. There was a fridge and air conditioning which was welcoming since the weather was warm. They also provided free bags of ice that was available near the front desk. I won’t be staying there again but if you want economical this is an option for you.

Our room was smelly and dirty. I cleaned the filthy doorknobs, and bathroom sink with lestoil wipes from my car! I went to the dollar store and bought an air freshener to help with the musty room smell.

The bathtub had no slip bathmat and it was slippery! The bathroom heater was covered in hair, no tissue in the tissue holder, only one chair in a room with 2 double beds, and no air conditioner! The hot water was far from hot! BUT The Gallery, the hotel restaurant, had excellent food.

It was easy to find and we parked out front so no long haul with the luggage. We had 2 double beds but found it rather skinny although we did sleep well. You can find groceries in walking distance. Great wifi as we were able to stream a few shows.

How surprised I was when I checked into this motel that turned out to be an older hotel like property. The picture of the motel online shows rooms with cars parked just outside and I expected to be given a room there. However, I was given a room that was back a hallway of this older building, up several stairs and back another very long hall. It was also an efficiency and I did not need that or even use anything in the kitchen as I was only staying one night. The person at the desk was new and didn't seem to know what she was doing. After lugging everything to the room down those long hallways, we found a pleasant and spacious room that had been rehabilitated sometime in the past and was nicely painted. The bathroom appeared to be clean except for the long hair that graced the toilet lid and the hairs that floated in the toilet water. There was a generous supply of soaps and shampoo. We enjoyed a Keurig machine in the kitchen.

Unfortunately when we pulled the covers of the one bed down, there was a black hair on the sheet. How gross! The lighting also presented problems. There was a reading light over each of the beds and one didn't even have a light bulb in it. The ceiling light in the kitchen was also not lighting as was the overhead light in the bedroom. The floor lamp by the sofa had a faulty switch that had to be jiggled to get it to work.

About 1:30am, noisy neighbors came through the hall with boisterous laughing and loud talking.

We did enjoy a very pleasant and tasty meal in the restaurant but our waiter didn't give us the "staying discount" of 10% and no tax was charged. I asked about the tax and he just shrugged. I also had to tell him he needed me to sign the credit paper.

The next morning when I checked out I mentioned about all the lights not working in the room and the employee wrote all the info down. Then I found out that the employee who had checked me in the night before charged my credit card what she said was "just putting a hold on until I checked out." That charge was returned to my credit card and the correct charge was made. In addition I mentioned about the fiasco of paying for the meal the night before and I was given the 10% discount I was entitled to with a lot of apologies.
With all the negatives and problems, I would suggest travelers just ride by this one and head on to a nicer property.

The Restland Hotel is a solid choice if in Clarenville. Rooms are clean and basic, yet spacious, and beds were comfortable. Bathroom was small and in need of updating. Also, when bathroom light was turned on, fan turned on as well making for additional noise. There was not much soundproofing among other rooms on the floor we stayed on; if our A/C had not been turned on, it could have been quite loud. There is an on-site dining option and pub which we did not use. Breakfast is not included in the nightly charge.

We arrived at 6pm and went straight to the restaurant, but we were told it could be a 1 hour wait. We waited in our room for 30 minutes and then we were called to the restaurant. After taking our order we waited another 30 minutes. When the food finally came it was a disappointment.
The room however, was a surprise in that it contained a nice sitting area with a kitchen.

I went to the restaurant to have breakfast. I didn't stay at the motel.
The food is very good and the place very cozy. Service was fast enough. The environment is very clean and well decorated. Prices are fair.

After a very long day touring in the rain we stopped in without reservations. Fortunately there was a cancellation and we were able to have 2 rooms. The beds are comfortable the dinning room lovely with a diverse menu and the pub and local folks very nice. We would stay again thank you for the nice memories and happy 1 st anniversary. Cheers.
