We drove hundreds of miles to visit family. This was a campground close to where our family lived. It was incredibly close to the water. I really liked that part. It was fairly close to shopping.

When we pulled in to register there was a very young clerk there that really wasn’t able to answer many of my questions about the site or what was nearby. Didn’t seem motivated to find the information out either. Assigned us a site. When we pulled in you could see there are a lot of permanent residents in the campground. While some of the structures attached to the campers were really nice some of the campers were older and looked older.

We found the sites rather cramped. When we pulled in and tried to get into the site assigned to us there was a next door neighbor that had a truck in the way that made it hard for us to maneuver. The site did have full hook ups and a fire ring. There were a lot of mature trees that provided nice shade.

While we were told there was Wi-Fi it was not usable. You could not get it at your site and if you went in to the office by the washers and dryers I still couldn’t pull up google easily. The bathrooms and showers were old but smelled of a recent cleaning. I saw that they did have washers and dryers but they were very old. They sold beer, soda and a few other things in the office.

Room Tip: Sites were very cramped and some of the campers were parked not only long ways but sideways as well.

The camp site doesn't have anyone keeping tabs on it at night. There's no quiet time and people around us were awake and arguing then making up for it until 3am on a Thursday night. The next time, a different campsite was loud until after 1am. I had called the front office at midnight on the first night to ask for someone to drive by the site to quiet down and be a bit more respectful but no one is at the office after 8pm.
The sites have zero privacy, the bathrooms didn't have soap and the toilet handle was broken in one of the 3 bathrooms. There was dog poop in our site upon arrival.
The best part about the place was the hot water and good water pressure.

This place was deceptive. The friendly older woman at the reception makes you think that they are conscientious. In reallity the toilets were dirty. 50% of the showers were out of order. The sinks had those damned taps that have a turn off spring that prevents them from running when you let go of the handles. Many many insects in the bathrooms and many big mosquitoes in the campground even though it was the 15th of July. Camp sites for tenters were poorly defined so you did not know if you were on your own site or not. All this for 42.40$ per night.

We anticipated staying at Mallet's Bay campground for a couple days, but after the first few hours of staying there, we knew we had to leave. The tent sites were basically on top of eachother, it feels as though you are in someone's back yard. The bathrooms were deplorable, if you need the "basics" you don't even come close to that here. The owners were unhelpful and rude when we asked about the problem, saying that "other guests mess wasn't their fault-which is fair, but when asked how to remedy the situation there was no help at all. We had to wait until morning to speak to anyone about a refund- just for them to tell us they will only "credit" us two nights stay. (I can't say after staying somewhere ill kept, I'd want to try it again) Overall, it was a foul couple hours at this place and I absolutely would steer anyone away from staying here in the future.

Stayed there for about 3 weeks. It is a convenient location in Colchester, right across the street from Lake Champlain, and next to a public park that has a bike path running through it. Overall a very pleasant setting. No cement pads to park on, but I guess that is what makes it a more rustic atmosphere. It is generally very quiet, except when the practice fields next door are in use. Gets a little noisey with the coaches yelling at the kids. It only lasts a couple of hours weekday late afternoons. I would stay there again definitely.

We stayed at this campsite for a couple of nights in August because the campsite in Burlington was full. I was a bit wary because of some unfavourable reviews. But as far as I'm concerned, it was fine. We were in a tent. The facilities are fairly basic but we weren't looking for anything more than that. Unlike one of the other reviews, I found the toilets were fine - clean and working. Someone commented unfavourably about the site being wooded. It was hot when we were there so it was good to be in the shade. There were also fully sunny pitches available. Finally, someone had complained about the bugs. But i think you will get that anywhere camping near the shore of Lake Champlain. It isn't specific to the campsite. BTW they had good, working wifi available throughout the site. You can cycle from Burlington to Mallet's Bay along a nice cycle path on a disused railway track but it is quite a long way and the last bit is along the road. I'm writing this review because I think some of the other reviews have been a bit harsh.

Not well equipt for 3 way hoockup and quite expensive for what you get. We stayed at off peak season for two nights and it was more expensive then a 5 stars campground at off peak season? The black water connection was very far from water and electric connection and the electricity was not working and neither was the TV cable connection.

This was my second stay at this campground. The first time was 2 years ago (2014 Labor Day weekend). We stay in our tent, need minimal services (sink and shower). Both times, I have been amazed at how much they charge ($40 per night for an extremely small tent site) and how much you don't get for that expense. The bathrooms don't have exhaust fans, so are always dripping with condensation. The women's bathroom stalls don't have any locks on them. The sinks are cracked/chipped and the faucet is the type that has to be held to stay on.

Tent sites consist of a picnic table and either a wheel rim or washer drum for a fire ring. There is enough space to park your vehicle next to the table and set up your tent behind the table... as the next site is approx 6' away.

Driving around the loop, even the RV/camper sites are on top of each other and some people couldn't fully extend their awning in fear of hitting the RV next to them.

Campground is located in a beautiful location right across from Malletts Bay in Vermont. It is unfortunate that the owners of this campground decided that profit over maintenance of this property is more important. I would not recommend you staying here, for example, iI had not moved campfire rings to get into my spot my slide would've been right over my neighbors fire ring. Also there was trash left behind by other campers and it was not cleaned up. The bathrooms were dirty and needed repair as did antiquated laundry facilities.

On the positive side is its beautiful location. The young woman at the front desk is very helpful but is hampered by the apparent apathy of its owners.

Management is very poor. Bathrooms are dirty and outdated. Overpriced. Only thing it has going for it is the park next door. Vemont has so many nice campgrounds to offer, don't waste your money! Sites are over crowded, Sandy, buggy and no sun. Trees have come down on campers before. They offer nothing for your children to be occupied. Management is rude, cocky and disrespectful. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. I have been camping here for 40 Years because of tradition not because of conditions or management. I have had it. Won't be back! !!
