It had been out privilege to live at Honey Bear the last year and a half.

This is truly a magical place. We have lived all over the United States and the world but nothing compares to Honey Bear.

The natural beauty, the sheltered micro-clime, and the verdant land are unmatched. Where else can one walk from sea to mountains or from forests to meadows in minutes? We see wildlife daily, and there’s always beautiful blossoms and humming birds to enchant the eye.

To compliment the environmental beauty, there’s wonderful staff, excellent ownership, and a real spirit of community here- balanced with the professionalism required of a world class resort. Time and time again, we have seen or benefited from the outstanding Honey Bear staff going out of their way to help residents. The standards of cleanliness, efficiency, upkeep, and security that Honey Bear maintains are simply unmatched.

No recitation of Honey Bear’s virtues would be complete without mentioning that Bear’s Bar and Grill is simply the best restaurant along the Oregon Coast, with the best service we’ve ever experienced anywhere. Special praise must be made, of course, of the Cheesy Bear. A masterpiece!

Our family stayed here for a month amidst the Covid pandemic and we are absolutely delighted they were able to take us in! Despite the national shut down, social distancing concerns, and other challenges that faced the Honey Bear RV resort during this extraordinary time they were able to still make you feel welcome and completely at ease. Despite some of their amenities being closed or processes modified due to the CDC recommendations, they were still able to make staying here a completely enjoyable and pleasurable experience!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about their caring staff as well as the owner Glenn who goes out of their way to make sure you are taken care of as well as feel very welcomed. You can tell they truly care about not only their customers but also the upkeep and care of the RV resort. It is obvious the pride that is taken in the upkeep, cleanliness, and amenities of this resort. You can tell they are genuine people who love what they do!
As for the RV resort itself, it is spectacular! It sits on roughly 50 acres of forest, ponds, and meadows just a short walk from the ocean. You can hear the waves crashing onto the shore which we find so relaxing. You can also see deer and elk roaming the property as well as otters swimming in one of the ponds. For you dog lovers, the resort is dog friendly which we love and they even have a large fenced in pond near the entrance to let your dogs run, play, and go for a dip in the pond! You can also bring your dog down to the beach and let them play as well. There are hiking trails, bird watching, as well as the occasional whale or seal to be spotted from the beach.
There are multiple large RV spots for big rigs with 50amp full hook-up service, RV spots for trailers and fifth wheels, as well as multiple tent camping spots. Laundry services are on-site and overflow parking if you have an extra vehicle in tow. The scenery is wonderful as they have kept a lot of trees and a natural feel to the property with amazing plants and flowers. A very serene and peaceful setting indeed...like a little slice of heaven.
I could go on and on about this place but I recommend you see for yourself! Thank you Honey Bear resort...you have a customer and friend for life!

I stayed here for a couple nights in 2017 and returned for a 6-week stay to enjoy the gorgeous South Oregon coast while riding out the 2020 pandemic. The staff was very accommodating and friendly throughout my stay, and the the property was kept clean and well-maintained. The location is hard to beat being directly across highway 101 from stunning Ophir Beach and about 7 miles from the mouth of the Rogue River and downtown Gold Beach. There is so much to do between beaches, wildlife, hikes, river trips, starry nights, and amazing sunsets. The Honey Bear property itself offers nice trail and meadow walks that are great for the kids and pups. I highly recommend and hope to return again soon.

We stayed for 1 night in the tent area, which is down the hill from the main area and the RVs, which I appreciated. The tent sites are nicely spaced out, have fire pits and a picnic table, and are situated in the periphery of a large meadow. Although we could see 4 other campsites, everyone was quiet and respectful. The main area has clean bathrooms and showers, but the tent-only area has porta-potties. If you're not a porta-potty fan (me!), it's a short drive back up the hill to real (and clean!) bathrooms.

We spent four nights in our 26' bumper pull trailer. We were met by very friendly staff and escorted to our site. The full hookups were great and everything worked perfectly. The park is kept very clean and landscaping kept up on. It was very nice and quiet. Private trail to the ocean was well kept and we used it frequently. Just a really nice overall stay here. We will return!

I can't say enough nice things about this RV Resort and it's staff! The resort is gorgeous, peaceful, clean, not too congested and you CAN hear the waves at night! The staff is super efficient, relaxed, and kind. The walk to the beach is not far or technical at all; my 79 mother accomplished it with ease. I highly recommend with an absolute thumbs up!

We had a really nice time at this resort. The staff was very friendly and helpful and everything was clean. Some sites are tighter together than others, but overall nice and in the trees. Being that we traveled as a group of friends and there were some kids - we were a bit disappointed that the game room (which is really cool!) closed by 6pm. We wanted to spend the days outside and at the beach and had hoped to play games in the evening. But no go. We were also hoping to play some 2v2 sand volleyball but the net was pretty saggy and low and the “sand” was more like fine rocks.. and the “basketball” was kid size with a moveable hoop maybe 7 ft high over grass. Cute little playground for kids. If they still had a restaurant there it would be awesome as the building is cute. The walk to the beach took about 8-10 minutes and crossed two roads. I liked that the bathrooms were all in one - toilet, sink, shower that you could lock yourself into and have privacy.

Making the reservation was a snap and I was grateful they were dog friendly! My granddaughter and I were very late coming in on the day we were set to arrive. I was concerned that I would have to back the trailer in the dark not to mention I had no idea how to get to my site. I did not need to worry! First, the office staff (Felicia) was amazing! Staff kept the office open and waited for us to get there to check in. Second, Glenn not only escorted us to our site, he directed as we backed the trailer (I am a terrible backer). Glen also helped us get a load of firewood. I am pretty sure the bar and grill stayed open just so we could get something to eat: the food is outstanding and the bartender did not skimp! The site itself was beautiful with a meadow just a short walk away where the dogs could romp and play. The trail to the beach at Ophir was short and easy and the beach, of course, was glorious. Honey Bear has full and partial hook ups and tent camping tucked away from the RVs: something for everyone! The rates are very reasonable so we stayed a week and loved every second. But the one thing that truly stands out is the quality of the staff. They are the reason I will be returning for longer stays! Thank you for an outstanding stay and I look forward to visiting you again!

In the mist of fires all across this area this park opened their doors to us! My family was almost homeless as we are full timers. While the fact people care, should be enough, there is so much more.

They were incredibly kind and logical in how they run a business. Tammy and the crew are beyond kind and pros! They are the kind of people that keep this kind of place in business! The sights are solid with either being flat or concrete. The kids play area is awesome and probably the biggest dog run area we have experienced to date (15 months full time). The ocean is right across the street and takes about 15 mins to walk through via trail off 101.

The trails and way tents are kept separate is a great utilization of the property. Golden Beach is big enough to have stuff but small enough to escape the mess from larger cities in the State.

I would 100 recommend this place. If you are a veteran or first responder, stop scrolling this is where you should come!

Brand new state of the art system was finished exactly a week ago yesterday. Yesterday till now, we have zero connection. The owner Dacia group out of Vegas is now charging for internet and wireless TV connection that doesn't work. Stopped here a couple times last year and bad internet then too. If you need internet TV, internet or cell service don't go to honeybear by the sea. June 13 2022.

Response from Dacia Resorts, Owner at Honey Bear By The Sea RV Resort And Campground
Responded Jul 18, 2022
Hello Foggymtns, we are very sorry that the internet was not working at the time of your stay. As you mentioned in your review, we have an incredible brand new WIFI system that was just installed and is able to handle fiber internet speeds. Unfortunately, it took some troubleshooting and was not operational for a very short amount of time. The internet is fully now operational and working as we speak. We know how vital internet services are for our campers and want to provide the best amenities possible, which is why we elected to pay $70,000 to have it installed in the first place. A one-star review simply because the new wifi sys was not fully operational seems pretty unreasonable to us as we rely on reviews like this to get more visitors. We hope you come back and find the system to your liking!

The 50 acres has wooded sites, sites without trees and even sites that have a bit of both. There are 7 ponds, a couple creeks & springs, and also ocean views, so all types of camping can be accommodated. If you were to walk from the Lodge, which is kind of centrally located, it is less than an easy 5 minute walk to put your toes in the sand.
