We just got home from a 3 night stay at the Element. We are from Minnesota but wanted to do a staycation to spend money locally since NO ONE should be traveling out of their home state! Our stay would have been perfect if not for the incredibly rude family in the room next to ours on the 6th floor. Their baby wailed and their toddler screamed non stop. We were not allowed to sleep in for 3 mornings because the baby would start crying at 630-7am every morning and continue for at least an hour!! If you bring small children to a hotel please remember there are other guests and to have some respect!
This hotel is modern, clean, and green. Staff was wonderful and helpful. Housekeeping doesn't come in your room if you stay more than one night due to Covid, but if you need anything you can just go to the front desk (or just call them), and they will bring it up to you! This hotel usually has a continental breakfast, but also due to Covid they are now implementing a system where you checkmark a menu each day for what you would like and what time, and they put the bag on your door handle! Super convenient and safe. We did not use the pool or exercise rooms but they are open, and they only allow so many guests in at once. You can rent bikes there and there's a small store for essentials.
In the past when we have stayed at this hotel brand they have beer and wine with hors d'oeuvres in the evening but they did not have this, most likely due to the virus. The coffee and tea station in the lobby was also not there. Hotel is also steps from the Mall of America!
The only part about our room I didn't like was the brightness of the lights in the closet and bathroom. The lights come on automatically when you open the closet doors/walk in the bathroom which was cool, but at night it was blinding! This was minor tho and I won't dock any stars for it. Parking is available for free in a lot or a ramp. Would absolutely stay here again.

This is a new property that had only been open for two weeks when we stayed in March 2020. EVERY staff members that greeted us, was friendly, smiled, was extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel is beautiful. The room was amazing. We especially appreciated the filtered water in the bypass faucet in the kitchenette and all the other amenities of the kitchenette. The bed was very comfortable. The lighted in the room and throughout the hotel was beautiful and functional. We loved the mid-century modern decorating of the hotel. The hotel breakfast on the first day was the best we have ever had. The second day the Coronavirus protocols had to be enacted, so not as many choices could be offered, but this was handled in an extremely professional manner by the hotel staff. The pool and whirlpool areas were clean and bright. The pool towels were large and comfortable--unlike those of many other hotels. We WILL stay here again on our next trip to the Mall of America. The hotel is right across the street from the East Parking Ramp, so one can easily walk to the Mall. The infused water available all day at the front desk and at breakfast was refreshing, and much appreciated. We has a PERFECT stay!

Brought my teenage daughters and their friends for an overnight stay. We had a set of connecting rooms and a room across the hall.

The connecting room set up was a King Size room connected to a Studio Queen. The Studio Queen had 2 Queen size beds and a sofa pull out. It had a cooktop, dishwasher, large microwave and a larger fridge. The room across the hall that we had was also a Studio Queen.

Beds were super comfy and there were plenty of pillows. The girls and their friends were able to stream movies from online accounts to the tv. The bathrooms were spacious. The showers have full size shampoo and body washes in them. A much better option than the individual single use ones that you typically find.

They did offer a free breakfast in the morning. It was served in the lobby. It was a selection of hot sandwiches, bagels, fruit and juice. The kids said it was a good breakfast. I had brought my own due to being gluten free and always travelling with food.

The front doors were locked 24/7. The room keys allowed you to open these doors though. Having a group of teenage girls, this was a great security addition.

All of the staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at the Element! I am so pleased that we were able to get your whole family together in one area with our connecting rooms and neighboring room types! This was a careful measure taken when designing our room pools at Element. Our Studio guest rooms provide the ultimate kitchen set up for an extended stay; no more eating out every night! I also appreciate you mentioning our complimentary breakfast! We have taken great measure to keep our guests safe during the pandemic, but also provide this often sought after amenity. I hope that we can welcome you back for the next trip! Thank you for staying with us.

I rented a executive suite and a meeting room for my mother's 75th birthday. Before I made my reservation with this hotel I spoke with the manager and she assured me that they had a handicap room with a roll in shower. My mother is in a wheelchair and has no legs. So the room that she suggested that I get was an executive suite that cost me $200 a night. The money was not the problem the room was the problem. If you expect to get an executive suite this should be an executive room. This was not an executive suite this was extended stay room but I paid $200. The restroom did not have a rolling shower. It had a pool shower the kind of shower you go rinse yourself off before you get into the shower. This room was not designed for anybody in a wheelchair because we had to move half of the furniture outside the room because the room was so small the living room was only 7 ft long and had not one table but a dining room table a desk and a sofa bed. And they thought by putting the TV on the wall it would make the room look bigger. when I asked for a different room they said I couldn't move because that's the room the manager put me in when I made my reservation. I called customer service they said they would call me back after they talk to the front desk to see if they can move me to a different room but I was already in the biggest room. After 2 hours of no call back I called customer service at the Marriott again to find out that the front desk person made false statement to corporate and said I had already moved to a different bigger room. That was a lie. When I found that out I confronted Kiki at the front desk and she said oh I thought I was going to move you but I didn't. This room was not worth $200 I know you're right across the street from Mall of America but Mary has better hotels than the elements hotel the Fairfield inn is bigger than this room and cheaper you get a living room dining room and a bedroom and a walk-in bathroom. And the bathroom is set like you're in China so if you're taking a shower and you're more than 5 minutes in that shower the power turns off. This was a nightmare a gold elite member and I just got dropped down from a platinum because of colvin and I would never recommend elements hotel because they use pictures from other element hotels which are accurate size room they say on the website that this room is 533 square feet this room my husband measured this room and this room is only 250 square feet p ft. That is half the size. And I asked to get my money back because you giving me $100 room for the price of $200. If you ask me go to Home2 hotel. their rooms are three times bigger than this executive room and that's sad and you can get their rooms for about $200 a night and it's just next door don't . This room did not have heat my husband and my mom had sleep in thier coat. We had to asked for extra blankets. Because it was 20 degrees outside and we were in $200 room with no heat. Don't waste your money it's not worth the time.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and experience about your recent stay with us. The accessible Executive King Suite that you booked is ADA complaint with all rules and regulations and meets the strict requirements. The room also passed a preopening inspection meeting all necessary guidelines. I understand that the room may not have been up too your standards and needs for you and your guest. I do see that we compensated 50% of the room rate for you and provided a 3pm check out as requested. I do not recall you mentioning the heat in the room when we spoke Saturday morning. The heat was checked is working just fine, not sure what happened there. We do our best to ensure every guest is satisfied and I apologize we fell short of your expectations. We hope you were able to find a place to better accommodate you and your family’s needs. We thank you again for your feedback.

Enjoyed my time at Element! Though my stay was brief and during Covid, I will definitely return.
Loved the look and ambiance of this Marriott property. I really appreciated the sanitizer stands located throughout the hotel. The staff was friendly and informative.

The Studio room I stayed in was perfect, filled with thoughtful features. In the kitchenette there was a filtered water faucet next to the sink and a wide array of tools available to guests. And in the bathroom, a motion sensor light and an elevated sink. There is more but those stood out.

Eateries are steps away and the Mall of America is across the street. MSP is a short drive away. Free parking in the structure next to the hotel was a definite plus during snowy weather.

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay at the Element Bloomington Mall of America. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your time here, and it looks like we scored a returning guest! We put a lot of time and thought into the design of our guest rooms to provide convenient features that are also eco-friendly and energy saving. Our brand within Marriott focuses heavily on those two things. Our convenient location even makes it so guests can park their vehicle and not have to move it until they are on their way home; steps away from Mall of America and one of Bloomington's top rated restaurants. Thank you for staying with us!

While a fan of Element's concept, a few items were off on this visit.
Upon arrival, our first room had an industrial air purifier plugged in battling an unpleasant odor. Sam at the front desk put us in another room on the 7th floor, and personally left us in the lobby while he made sure the room was feather free. (Sam was likely the only employee on property until 11p).
Our second room was missing one pillow case. The soap dish in the bathroom had a fingernail clipping. The large shampoo in the shower was broken off the shower wall.
Beds were comfortable, complimentary breakfast in lobby sufficient, public areas were clean (except floor of breakfast area after breakfast), room darkening shades kept everything pitch back all night.
Don't expect an early bedtime (before 11p) or sleeping in late (after 6a) if airport traffic is taking off from Runway 17 - planes fly directly overhead, and hotel structure has limited soundproofing.

Plenty of space in the room for sleeping, working, relaxing. Well designed little kitchen area. Large walk in shower. Bed was super comfortable! Abundant outlets. Highly effective black out curtain. Filtered cold water dispenser was a nice touch! Excellent high speed WiFi— my son played Minecraft without issue (and without asking…)

Breakfast was the nicest buffet spread I’ve seen since the pandemic began, and would have been above average even before. The freestanding restaurant a few steps away was very busy and seemed to be packed with locals. For good reason, it was excellent

Staff was invariably friendly, helpful, and kind, especially Keia. They all were either excellent actors, or genuinely seem to like their jobs.

The only downside: it could get a little loud with noise from the hallway and nearby rooms, although we were at the end of the hall. It never lasted long, or was at unreasonable hours, and it likely has as much to do with my own low tolerance as anything, but inconsiderate neighbors could be a problem for some. We could hear overhead flights from the nearby airport, especially in the morning, but it wasn’t disturbing at all. Despite the proximity to the mall, traffic noise was almost inaudible

I had a fabulous time at the Element! All of the employees, including Nicole, Ashley, Karen, and Jess were amazing! I was able to get an early check-in because they were able to move me to a king room, and I was not charged extra for it! The kitchen in my room was amazing! A full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, stovetop, double sink, microwave, plates, glasses, mugs, and silverware! The morning breakfasts were great...mini egg fritattas, bagels, toast, yogurt, cereal, fruit, and juice! The hotel is right across from the east parking deck of the Mall of America...very accessible. This will be my hotel of choice every time I visit Bloomington!

Great staff but not all Elements are the same. Having just stayed at an Element in Atlanta a few days earlier it was just too easy to compare. We had a king room and while the hotels looked really similar in their layout the room we had here didn’t compare. First is the walls here are paper thin. We could hear our neighbours partying into all hours of the night and banging stuff. The second thing is the air conditioning faced the bed and the bedding is Courtyard thin with a terrible mattress. This is polar opposite of the bedding we had in Atlanta which was very much like staying in a real Westin with thick bedding and cloud like mattress. The last thing which was minor is that the safe wouldn’t open and it didn’t seem worth it to ask for it to be opened. We just kept our passports with us the whole time.

All those items are minor (except the noisy neighbours) and what made up for it was the front desk staff who went out of their way to help us find pre-travel Covid tests, helped us mail an item and gave us other recommendations. The staff are the best part of the property!

Breakfast was well done and in individual servings re Covid which I really appreciated and this was better done than in Atlanta where there they just had a general use utensil in each of the large jars of jam and peanut butter etc.

I would definitely stay here again.

I'm glad you found breakfast was well done but I'm most happy to hear that you think our staff is the best part of the property! Thank you for your business and we would love to welcome you back in the future! Bonvoy~

A good hotel choice for proximity to the mall and transportation to the express bus to the state fair. I had originally booked the JW Marriott but needed to save some bucks so opted to stay at Element. It was an good call as parking and breakfast are included at Element. The walk to the mall was easy and quick. The area was safe and quiet at night. During the day the planes take off right over head and are a bit noisy.
The staff were all friendly and accommodating. We stayed in a corner suite with pull out sofa. The sofa was supposedly a queen but looked more like a double. Room was clean and had a kitchen.
The pool and gym areas were both good.
I recommend using the Marriott Bonvoy app. You can communicate with the front desk using chat. The room does not get regular housekeeping which is odd but you can request services and items for the room on the app.
The snack area is good but needs alcohol as there is no where near by to but it. Other then the mall restaurants and the one in the parking lot, there are few options.
I would stay here again if visiting the area.
