With Covid -19 restricting travel to many states, I was happy that Maine had eased their restrictions on CT residents. Poland Spring Resort had emailed me a great $ 99/night rate, so I booked 3 nights. I had been there for a golf outing years ago so I knew what to expect. It's not the Ritz, but the rooms are comfortable and clean with the typical flat screen TV's. In "regular" times the place has entertainment and 3 meals/day in their dining room, and a variety of sitting rooms, game rooms, library, bar, buffet room, etc. A simple pleasure is just sitting in the rockers on the huge front porch and just looking out at the hills, watching the sunrise or sunset. Since buffets are banned, breakfast sandwiches are sold at the reception desk as well as coffee and assorted drinks and snacks. It was perfect for my needs grabbing something prior to my golf tee time. Lunch and dinner is available at Mel's at the golf course and /or Cindi's Dockside 5 minutes down the road on the lake. For golfers, the Donald Ross course is in great shape, and has some great views. It will challenge you. No elevators here so request the first floor if that is an issue. From the front desk reception area to the pro shop, to Mel's Hilltop Restaurant , everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I very much enjoyed my stay. It's a place I will return to!

This resort rocks. Hands down had a 5 star experience for 4 young bachelors from the city looking to get away and have some fun. Although the Maine Inn might not be your typical "modern" hotel in the city it has character, charm, awesome views, great location to so many different things, and has an abundance of on-site options for people of all ages. We personally enjoyed the value of 2 rooms for three nights and unlimited golf which we took full advantage of playing 54 holes in the course of a weekend. The golf course is one of the beat we've ever played at and definitely well kept. The staff take precious meticulous care of the grounds from what we could tell. We also took advantage of the bumper pool table, standard pool table, bar, the simple yet perfect breakfast buffet, driving range, grass tennis courts, and sitting on the gazebo while enjoying the evening sky. The beds were comfortable, the staff were SUPER friendly, and everything was CLEAN. The casino is a short drive away, and the restaurants in the area are delicious too,. We recommend the Oxford Beer Garden, Da Vinci's (Lewiston) and 290 Maine St. (Norway). You don't want to me this stop on your next trip to Maine!

This August my grandchildren will become the fourth generation of our family to stay at Poland Springs Resort. This is a budget vacation, I don’t want to leave people thinking this is a spa with fancy exercise rooms and an Olympic size pool. There is a modest pool, dirt and paved trails for both walks and bikes, small swing set, kids play room, two museums and a variety of local attractions such as Sebago Lake State Park, Maine Wildlife Park, Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village and Carousel Horse Farm, just to name a few. Poland Springs has one goal- to be the #1 most relaxing vacation, and they nail it. There is a lake with boat rentals, an ice cream stand next to a mini golf course, a fabulous porch with rocking chairs and adirondacks. You have two on site restaurant options for lunch and dinner, and you can enjoy the hotel’s breakfast buffet or drive a bit up the road for a regular breakfast restaurant. The Maine Inn has a library and a game room full of board games and puzzles. Sometimes there are movies in the afternoon. Friday nights there is music at the pub. Your small ones can run around without bothering anyone, and your older ones can sit on the porch and admire the incredible view across the golf course. Within an hour radius of Poland Springs Resort you’ll find Freeport, Portland, Augusta, Lewiston, and Brunswick- all lovely shopping destinations with brew pubs and galleries. And of course, there’s the casino. The prices at Poland Springs Resort are probably the real draw- our last stay was a Friday in July ‘21, and our room in the Presidential Inn was $99. People come to Poland Springs Resort and stay for weeks at a time. Obviously!

I came here 11 years ago when I was single. I got a brochure from the Vacation Fair at the World trade center in Boston and since then I have been coming to this resort every year. The resort has beautiful historic buildings. This is not the Hilton or a fancy upscale resort but it has everything to make you feel comfortable. The pool is a huge, clean pool. I like the water in that area in Maine. The water feels crispy and clean.
This year because of Covid-19 lots of things couldn't be offered at the resort but we still had a lot of fun. It is fun to be around trees, plants and going to visit farms or shopping antiques.
The rooms are spacious and always very clean. I don't like to stay in the Maine Inn because the majority of the people who stays there are seniors who don't like the noise and I think we are very noisy as a family. We always stay at the Presidential Inn.
The food in the hotel is very good and country/farm style. We love it. If you are expecting a gourmet menu then be aware that you wont find that here. However the dishes are home style so it wont disappoint at all. There will be something for everyone.
I recommend this place if your idea is to have a vacation that wont break your budget as a family and all you need is relax. This will be a perfect spot. I am very grateful for the great years and memories here.

This is a wonderful place. They say it is a Stress Free place and it is! We were impressed by all the staff, everyone wore masks and there was hand sanitizer available. The staff is very accommodating. We asked them to start the fire pit every night that we stayed and it was so much fun! We ate at Mel`s one night and Cyndi`s Dockside twice. All of the meals were fantastic. I would recommend the lobster dishes at Cyndi`s. We are not golfers but the golf course looked beautiful and people seemed to enjoy it.

I have been to several resorts this past spring and summer and Poland Spring was by far the best. Resorts in Whitefield NH, Bretton Woods NH, Kennebunk Me and Jackson NH (you know who you are) did not even closely compare to the overall quality, things to do, comfort and customer service Poland Springs provides. The rooms are dated, but comfortable and very clean. The nearby restaurants have very good food and drinks at good prices and even the grab and go breakfast was better than the much more expensive other resorts. You can get goodies including ice cream sundaes right in the lobby. I can't wait for the buffet food and bar to resume/reopen. The grounds were well kept and have good views of the white mountains from the large deck out front. They have the largest pool in the mountains and are the most relaxing if one needs it. Their motto of "stress free zone" is really true. All the staff thruout were excellent; caring, friendly and efficient. They even gave me an extra key to come and go if they are not staffed on some overnights...OMG-an honor system! They are now my "go to" resort and I'll be back in the spring for sure. Thank you for restoring my faith in traveling!

Poland Spring Resort is set on some of the most beautiful grounds you will see! We live in Maine and mostly went for the golf as the course is so beautiful! It is well groomed and offers a challenging game for sure! The room was very dated which I knew going in. That being said it was very comfortable and a good size. It even had a small couch etc. and a mini fridge which we did not discover until the next morning. For fellow travelers there is NO hairdryer in the room and if you are picky about your toiletries bring your own! The inn is old. That is just a fact. The nostalgia on the course and in the hallways etc. is amazing to look at! Hubby and I will return to do another "Stay and Play" as it is a great value. We will stay two nights next time to explore and enjoy the other amenities. When I told my daughter about the place and all the fun things it offered she said it sounded perfect for her little family to try out! Affordable and fun! The pool looked beautiful! The new patio outside the pro shop is gorgeous. There is seating all around the grounds to just sit and admire the views. If you are looking for marble tiles and plush carpet you will want to look elsewhere. If you are looking for an affordable, comfortable place to stay with impeccable service, and enjoy the Maine outdoors this is it! We ate at Mel's for lunch and dinner. Great food and very reasonable prices! Oxford Casino is just 8 miles down the road.

Poland Springs is that place that makes you feel like you are at home the moment you walk through the doors. Upon arriving, you will be greeting by a breathtaking view of the and a porch lined with rockers. The setting is reminiscent of Dirty Dancing. Check in is smooth and the front desk staff are sure to offer you dining suggestions as well as what to do in the area, but with so much to do on property, you may never leave (I don't). There are hiking trails, shuffle board, bocce courts, tennis, volleyball, badminton, and horseshoes, and that all comes with your stay. For a minimal fee, you can rent bikes, kyaks, paddleboats, play mini golf or play a round of golf on their award winning golf course! If you are fortunate enough to go in the summer, their swimming pool area is relaxing and never over crowded.
Looking to relax, grab a book and head to a rocker on the porch, or choose a recliner in the lounge by the fire.
Honestly, there is so much to do, or you can do nothing at all but relax! It certainly is the stress free zone.
The rooms are rooms, basic hotel room with either a king bed or 2 queens. One nice feature is the mini fridge. It is not fancy, but it is a comfortable place to lay your head.
Do not hesitate to check out the Resort! You won't be disappointed.

I was only up for 1 night and just needed a safe, clean place to sleep. The room that I was in was outdated, I was in the Presidential Inn, but I liked that the outside doors lock in addition to the lock on your room door. The property was clean and well lit, and as a traveling single these are important factors to me when looking for a place to stay. I felt safe and the staff was great. The young girl at check in was super nice and the woman that ran the snack bar was really personable and recommended a bar by the racetrack for some food given that I had arrived so late. The recomendation was awesome both with the food and the bar service! I can't wait to go back. The room was cheaper than most of the chain hotels in the area and I'd much rather support local businesses on my travels anyways. And those views from the Main Inn porch, sunrise/sunset were just amazing!
