The Hilton Chicago/Magnificent Mile Suites offers spacious rooms with separate bedrooms and sitting areas, a highlight for guests seeking comfort. While many appreciate the hotel's prime location for shopping and lake proximity, some feel the amenities do not justify the cost, citing it as overpriced. Though the service receives mixed reviews, with some praising the staff and others pointing out housekeeping flaws, the overall cleanliness, especially the bathrooms, is often commended. However, the closure of certain facilities like the restaurant has left some visitors disappointed.

This is my go to Chicago hotel and have stayed here 20+ times. Location is great with plenty of restaurants close and short walk to swim in lake or run along the water front. I love that the rooms are all 1 bedroom suites which means they are quiet and spacious. Always enjoy staying here. Lounge food is typical for a US based Hilton (ie adequate but not that great/not like international Hiltons)

Stayed at this location on a 3 day business trip just before Christmas. The location is within easy walking distance of restaurants, theatre, and shopping. Price per night is super reasonable- request the executive upgrade and enjoy breakfast as well as evening snacks and drinks. (Alcoholic beverages are pay as you go) Rooms are comfy and quiet and require room key card to access using elevator. I’ll stay again - soon!

Dear Martha M, Thanks so much for your comments. It sounds like you had a great time here in Chicago. Reading the experiences of our guests is something that we enjoy doing and yours are no exception. Thank you for recommending our location. There is no doubt that being steps away from the Magnificent Mile, the American Girl, the John Hancock Tower and the restaurants on Rush Street makes it easy to enjoy our fabulous city. We are glad that you enjoyed our Executive Lounge for the morning Continental Breakfast and Hors D'oeuvres in the evening. It is a nice place to relax before going for dinner to restaurants that are just a short walk from the hotel. Have a wonderful year 2020, we look forward to welcoming you back.

I stayed here for a business trip in Jan 2020. The room is huge with a separate living room. Service was quite prompt. I asked for room slippers and was given a pair within 10 mins. The bathroom is well equipped with toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, body wash and moisturizer. I didn't visit the restaurant at this hotel, but the small.in-house cafe was good enough for a quick coffee.

I have stayed here a few times over 20 years and keep coming back because I like the Streeterville location, lower key residential, people walking dogs, best restaurants, close to sites. I like the one bedroom suites. Many high floor king suites have lake views, two double bed suites don't. You can request a room with a bath tub, and if you need three separate beds, with the 2 doubles and a sofa bed you can have that. There's a rooftop pool and it is open, the furnishings have been keep in good repair, there's a room fridge and microwave, Not glam but comfortable, clientele is nice, good staff. No restaurant during Covid, just a Starbucks station. Here is the downside: you cannot really control the room temperature. The whole hotel is either on AC or on heat. It was freezing in our room early September and all the hotel could do was disable the AC entirely because the room thermostat is preset. The serviceman said there are many complaints. I was sleeping under the comforter and two extra blankets. Being in the room without the blankets was frigid. Bring some warm clothes if you stay here in summer.

Dear GretelGoodwitch, Thank you for staying with us and thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. The feedback from our guests is very important, it is both valued and appreciated by all of us. My apologies for the situation you experienced with the AC unit. I will follow-up with the team as the situation you experienced should not have happened. Sometime, due to a previous guest setting, the fastest way to bring down the temperature to each individual guest desired temperature is to turn off the system for 10 to 15 minutes and then set the thermostat at the temperature of your choice and leave it to automatic setting so it stays at the temperature that you prefer and only run when needed. The automatic setting is key to avoid extremes. Again, my sincere apologies. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

My husband and I stayed one night after a dinner in the city. We chose this location because it wasn’t far from the restaurant and we were using points. From the minute we set foot in the place we knew it wasn’t the type of place we normal choose to stay at, but thought “it’s only one night”. The hotel itself is outdated and def shows its wear. The shower wasn’t overly clean and seems like it had several ares of what could have been black mold. Hard to tell when some of the grout is white and some is black. I was coming off a major project at work and very much looking forward to sleeping in this morning but the housekeeping crew was knock at the door at 8am! That’s a bit early. I’m sure this is fine if you’re a family looking for a reasonable location near the American Girl store, but I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend for someone looking for a relaxing environment.

For a Hilton Hotel, I wasn’t impressed. I’ve stayed at a lot of upscale hotels in the past 6 months and this one really miss the mark for me. For me, it wasn’t worth the cost for the room. I checked in via the app and picked my room on an upper floor and was given a room on a lower floor. The noise from the neighboring rooftop units was loud all through the night. My view was a brick building when I ask for a lake view. There’s a $100 hold per night for damages, which during the reservation process wasn’t specified. The carpet needs to be updated and the rollout sofa was a bit grungy. The room was a double bed suite. The beds were soft and comfortable, except the pillows. The pillows were small and would go flat after a few seconds. The bathroom was nice with a large lighted mirror, hair dryer, and a magnified side mirror with a light. The shower didn’t have much water pressure which was a huge inconvenience. There were lots of clean towels and the normal complimentary toiletries.
There is a table/desk with one chair, would have need nice to have more than one chair for dining purposes. In the bar area there is a sink, coffee pot, microwave, and mini fridge. The room has two flat screens, one in the bedroom and the other in the living area. The staff behind the counter could use some people skills. The doormen were super friendly and very helpful. All in all it was an ok hotel that has many updates. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

Totally outdated Hilton, from the lobby to the hallways to the rooms. We booked a suite for our family and we ended up w/ Beds smaller than full size or some strange/old unusual size, rather than Queen size we accustomed to at other Hilton hotels. Being a Hilton Honor Member left even a bitter taste in our mouth. It was a terrible experience at this Hotel for myself, my wife, and our 3 young kids. Even the bathtub faucet was half-broken. There was no bellboy available to help us with our luggage, both ingress and egress. Using the provided luggage cart to bring our luggage inside the Hotel got stuck in poorly designed double-doors, that self close while you're in between them, and trying to get the cart through.
We had a terrible experience at this Hotel. We'll never book at this Hotel again. It's a shame that Hilton owns this type of Hotel. Apart from its good location in the North side of downtown Chicago, it's unworthy of the high quality and high standard that Hilton Hotels aspires to.
We felt that we wasted 3-days of valuable vacation time that we could have spent elsewhere. We'll never go back to this Hotel again. We had a terrible experience at this Hotel.
I hope you won’t make the same mistake we made by booking at this Hotel and ruining your much needed vacation.

Dear 471karimm, Thank you very much for staying with us and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. My sincere apologies for your experience not being to your expectations and to our own standards. As you can imagine, with COVID-19, a good number of services are not available and we realize that it does impact the overall experience. I can assure you that your experience is not typical of the experience of our guests. All of us look forward to being back to offer all the services that our guests expect unfortunately, the timing of these services to return is very much dependent on how COVID-19 will evolved. As of today approximately 30% of the hotel in Chicago are just completely closed. I can assure you that many of our guests return year after year. We realize that at time situations happen that need us to be informed and we appreciate you writing this review. In addition, please never hesitate to speak with our team members or myself while you are at the hotel, very often we can find a solution that make your stay a pleasant stay. I hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you and I invite you to contact me in advance of your visit refering to this particular review.

My two night stay at this hotel was mediocre. The rooms are a bit worn but fine and functional - the extra space of suites is nice. However, be warned that the walls between suites are paper thin... I literally heard EVERYTHING both nights from the rooms on both sides of mine. Also, parking is very pricey; that is normal for urban areas, but ~$75 for valet or ~$55 for self park seemed excessive. (Tip: I used the ParkWhiz app for $36 parking in the John Hancock garage which was a 2 minute walk from the hotel). Next time I'm in Chicago, I'll try a different hotel.

We spent two nights here and were so pleased with everything. We arrived early and were prepared to drop out bags and go exploring, but Carmen at the front desk was able to get us into our room/suite right away. The accomodations were perfect - bedroom, bath (great shower), and living room with kitchenette (microwave, fridge). We had a great view of Lake Michigan as well. Location was excellent. There's a huge deli/store a block or two away where we stocked up on drinks and snacks. We walked down the Magnificent Mile to Millenium Park one day and went to the top of 360 (virtually across the street) for the views. For breakfast, highly recommend Wild Berry Cafe a couple of blocks away. We ran into old friends in the lobby the first morning and had drinks with them at The Drake around the corner. Pool on the top floor was nice size (for a hotel) - but fills up with kids middle of the day. So go early if you want to swim. Only complaint is that the complimentary coffee in the lobby every morning wasn't available until around 7 a.m. - a little earlier would have been nice! One last shout out to Carmen at the front desk who was very helpful with directions & suggestions.

Hello, Is the exec Lounge open yet or do you have an alternative for breakfast? Thank you in advance C 😊
Answer from PatrickFilatre
Good evening from Chicago, We do not anticipate having the Executive lounge open in the near future. As a Hilton members, guest receive a $15 food credit per person and per day up to 2. The food credit can be have in the Blenz take-out where breakfast pastries, yogurts, fresh fruits, fruit salad, cereals, coffee and teas are available. We hope this helpful and please don't hesitate to contact us again if we can be of assistance. We look forward to welcoming you.

Are all the rooms the same size?
Answer from PatrickFilatre
Dear Luis F, All our rooms are suites and most have a bedroom and living room giving our guests more space and more options when watching TVs since each of our suites have 2 TVs. The only rooms that are limited to one room are called the Alcove, these particular rooms have no separate living room. We hope this will be helpful in making your hotel selection. I would add that our location in the Chicago Gold Coast is also a big reason why guests stay with us when returning to Chicago.
