This is our favorite vacation. We come every year over Christmas and New Years with the entire family and occupy three rooms. This is our 31st year. You can see exactly what it is by looking at the photos on the website. It's right on the ocean - think sunrises, shells on the beach, long walks at low tide... The pool is warm and clean, the grounds are well maintained. The owner (Karen) and the staff go out of their way to accommodate their guests. It's one of the few original Florida low rises, unique in its location on a quiet street directly on the beach, but just around the corner from some fun eateries and stores, and within a short walk to some top notch restaurants. I highly recommend the Ebb Tide, but it's important to appreciate its uniqueness and understand that it is not the Ritz-Carlton. I just want to add that we are experienced travelers, have stayed in some very luxurious resorts, and the Ebb Tide is still our favorite! Kudos to the entire staff. <3 Oh...I just thought of one negative - the WiFi is kind of disappointing, but you can opt for a more reliable one for a small fee.

I have stayed here a few times, always great customer service! Great location and private beach access! CDC guidelines were carried out, staff wearing masks and rooms were sterilized. Some rooms are connecting and most have kitchens, 3 grills on property and plenty of seating. No need to leave once you arrive, restaurants and Walgreens walking distance.

You cannot beat the location for the Ebb Tide - steps from the warm waters of the Atlantic. The rooms are well appointed. The pool is fresh and clean. We didn't spend a ton of time there but the bed was comfortable and having a suite meant my teenager had privacy in the other room. While they tell you that you have to request service, one day we had housekeeping knock which was nice because they got rid of a bunch of sand in the bathroom. But when we did request service, we were told it had to be two days in advance and then they never came. But overall, it was a great stay. Also very quiet.

The location of the motel and the layout of the motel are both great. It's right on the beach and even close to bars, restaurants, the pier, shops, etc. The pool is right smack in the middle of the hotel so it's the centerpoint of the hotel and makes it easy to watch the kids from the rooms, from the chaise lounges outside, from the chickee hut, etc. The chickee hut is always great because it provides a good area to sit, eat, hang out, and get shade from the sun.
But, the chickee hut is in very poor condition...breaking in many areas with gaping holes that allow sunlight and rain through, so it becomes uncomfortable to hang out there anymore. My family had to purchase a large tarp from Harbor Freight and position it over the chickee hut just to help block rain from pouring through the holes in the chickee roof. It was a great solution to the problem, but the office didn't seem to care one way or the other whether we helped solve that issue or not. We ended up leaving the tarp on the hut so future patrons could use the chickee during the rain as well.
The rooms are old and falling apart. The rugs are dirty, the bed sheets seem old and I'm not sure the top quilts ever get washed. You have to ask the office for maid service on your room every day if you want the maid to clean your room the next day (very odd). The kitchen amenities are almost non-existent. Kitchens are missing standard accessories, but we did have a coffee maker, which I'm thankful for. There was a microwave, but only the "Add 30 seconds" button worked on it. The looks of the motel on the outside leaves much to be desired. It could use a new paint job, and the upstairs railing looks extremely shoddy and unsafe, and it's been that way for years.
I'm not impressed with the quality of the motel, inside or outside, but regardless me and the entire family made this a great vacation, as we focused on spending good quality time together.

Pros- Beautiful view with big windows Clean and spacious room Location, Location , Location Grounds and pool area well maintained
Cons- Only 1 small window opens In room 24 Balcony is ocean view, not ocean front and is shared with the entire 2nd floor Furniture in room is nice, but decor is plain and minimal.
Overall a great stay, no frills but clean! Can’t beat the view or location. Many restaurants within walking distance.

My family and I were in town for a wedding, and we booked room(s) 22 and 23. I think room 22 needed a little TLC. The shower had almost zero water pressure, because it was sooo windy that weekend, the door would shake do to lack of proper weather stripping, and the toilet would run periodically. Other than that, it was a clean, pet friendly room. Room 23 had great water pressure in the shower and was the better room, in my opinion. The only issue is that room 24 and 25 will sit at the tables and chairs in front of your window. So, when people are up at 7am, and having conversations, you will hear everything, and might as well forget about sleeping in.
Parking was not an issue at all and they do NOT charge for parking, which is a stress reliever. No need to worry if you can find a parking spot when you conme home late at night.
We had our dog with us and we found that the best dog friendly restaurants in walking distance was the Rusty Hook Tavern, at the (Sands Hotel), the Beach House (Pompano Pier area) has a great downstairs full menu with outdoor seating, w/ocean views, and upstairs is more of a bar, with awesome outdoors seating w/ ocean view. We drove to our favorite breakfast place in my home town of Lauderdale by the sea ( First Watch), which was ~ 5-7 min drive down A1A.
Anyway, enjoyed our stay at the Ebb Tide, but would just pick a different more refurbished room next time.

We have taken note of the all the issues you encountered while staying in room 22 and will discuss it with our maintenance man. The patio area is a area shared with all of the rooms on the second floor as where rooms 24 and 25 are located at. Parking is included with the room, we are always aware of parking spaces to prevent any problems. This was our third visit to the Ebb Tide. The location is absolutely perfect. It is so close to the beach, literally steps away from the building. The views are great. The hotel is a typical beach hotel, a little run down, nothing fancy at all. We purposely booked a room on the upper floor because we wanted to enjoy the deck and be able to sit outside. Unfortunately, in the 3 days we were there, the deck was under construction and the whole time we had to deal with construction noise, sawdust in the air, the smell of tar, and construction workers outside our window. That was very uncomfortable. We could barely sit out by the pool because of the noise and odors from the work being done. We were disappointed because we paid over 200 a night and we could not use our deck, we could barely enjoy the pool area, and it was very weird to be lying in bed up against the window and men were right outside the whole time. I did complain to the owner and she was willing to give a small credit back to me, but I felt like it should have been more. All that being said, I would still give this place another chance when the prices are lower.

If you are looking for a low rise hotel steps from the beach and close to restaurants this is the place! Ebb Tide is definitely an "old school" Florida hotel. It is a two floor with old fashioned door keys and none of the bells and whistles of the larger chain hotels. Our room was spacious enough, with two double beds, a decently stocked kitchenette (microwave, full sized fridge, coffee maker and stove) and bathroom. The place definitely could use some TLC, but it was clean. Due to COVID the rooms are not cleaned daily, but there were plenty of towels and soap, and extras were available as needed - including beach/pool towels. The office is staffed daily until 5, and they were very attentive and helpful. The rooms have a table and chairs outside to enjoy the beautiful view. The buildings surround a beautiful sparkling clean pool. The pool and courtyard area has about a dozen chairs, along with covered area with tables/chairs, shuffleboard and grills. Views from the second floor were spectacular. Just steps from the pool is a gorgeous beach! The resort is located about 1/2 mile from the Pompano Pier and many restaurants/bars and shopping areas. If you like to walk, this place is perfect. We walked daily, including to the Pier and restaurants. There are plenty of places within walking distance to eat, drink and be merry!

Stayed for 4 nights prior to a cruise. Originally tried to get into the Coral Tide a few yards up the road where we stayed 18m ago but it was fully booked. Comparing the two I would say the room was almost a carbon copy but the Ebb has a larger and better pool area. Our studio room has just about the best views you could wish for. I've added the hotel floor plan for info. (16 & 24 are upper level sea facing)The room prices detailed will probably change. Only made use of the toaster and coffee maker which worked fine. Powerful shower in what looked like a new bath/shower unit. Room pretty quiet considering proximity to sea and I don't think double glazed! Free WiFi and plenty of tv channel's. Air con worked okay but we switched off through the night. There's a neighbourhood Wal-Mart just 5 minutes away by car to stock up also a great atmospheric Irish pub just 5 minutes walk. This isn't a bland modern chain hotel but a fifties character hotel with the odd chip in the paintwork but tidy and clean and we will try to get back there soon.

This resort is located right on the beach. The beach is peaceful and beautiful. The hotel is intimate, quiet and comfortable. It is an older hotel so don’t expect fancy new upgrades. It is perfect for a short stay of relaxation. You can rent a beach chair for $5 a day and there is free parking. The street is very nice and you can walk to some restaurants if you choose. This was a nice area and place to have a short stay getaway. We stayed in oceanfront room #30 which was clean and had a comfortable bed with a small kitchen and couch. It also had its own private chairs and we were steps from the sand. We were allowed an early check in which was great and the staff was very friendly. The pool was nice too. My only negative would be that men were working around the hotel which wasn’t ideal but we didn’t let it bother us too much. I would stay here again if visiting pompano beach.

Would like to know if you still had a single room (no need for kitchenette) avail from Dec 24/15 to Jan 2/16. Would prefer 2nd floor oceanview but if not avail, could take any room as long as secure and quiet.
There are more places to choose from in the Pompano Beach area.
