Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Lake Buena Vista is heralded for its prime location, close to dining, shopping, and Disney attractions, with guests appreciating the added convenience of nearby transportation. The hotel's cleanliness and attentive service have earned positive remarks, though some have pointed out occasional inconsistencies. While the rooms are generally found to be comfortable and well-maintained, a few guests have noted them as outdated and noisy. The amenities, including the pool and shuttle services, are popular among visitors, but opinions on value vary with some concerns over additional fees and maintenance issues.

Hotel's Favourite
This is a brand new hotel, they took over for another hotel and have refinished the property. It is a boutique hotel that we happened upon when the previous hotel had accepted our reservation but were in fact out of business for 15 months. We arrived luggage in hand, paid reservation, and no hotel. We were fortunate to meet Iliana, she was coordinating the finishing of the refurbishment and the June opening of the hotel. We explained our situation and she could not have been any nicer trying to assist us in rebooking somewhere. After numerous no vacancies or over priced availability she went above and way beyond and called the new owner, Theo. A few rooms were completed, and they were gracious enough to offer one to us. We left everything with Iliana and explored the area. Centrally located, it is mere minutes to anything. The shops, restaurants, the famous "donkeys" and the spectacular view are just steps from the hotel. We returned to meet Theo P., the new owner, who gave us his personal number since technically there wasn't staff yet. The stay was wonderful. The brand new room was clean and extremely comfortable. The abutting restaurant, opposite the courtyard, was not an issue whatsoever. If you want a clean, comfortable room, and a good nights sleep, I strongly recommend this hotel. Stop in, meet Iliana not only will she go out of her way to assist but she is wealth of knowledge for restaurants, activities and transportation. The hotel does not have a view of the Caldera, but the proximity and the people more than make up for it. We thanks them and specifically Iliana for salvaging a potentially bad situation.

This is a solid 3.5 in my opinion. All the staff we interacted with was great, checking in the 3 staff members working the desk were bilingual and flowing between English and Spanish easily. While they do offer transportation to the park you have to sign up in a book and there are only 30 seats so by the time we arrived this was not an option. Lyft worked great and we never waited more than 5 min for our ride.

The room was clean and comfortable we were on the 2nd floor with an outdoor entrance and it was very loud, the large trash bins were outside our window and picked up between 1am and 5am each night we were there. The room door slam so anytime someone entered or left a room there is a loud bang. If I stayed again I would request a room with an indoor entrance. We did not use the pool but it looked nice and the tiki bar was a popular spot.

Our bathroom tub was broken and needed repair the handle came clear off, we were able to reattach and turn on water but for that is my reason for a 3 rather than a 4

Stayed during covid so we did not have housekeeping, which was fine as we do not want to spread covid to others or have others spread it to ourselves. When we needed something from housekeeping we called the front desk and they promptly brought it to the room. Staff was all very nice. The area was very well lit and I felt safe there. Before I booked, I saw the hotels website has a posting of the schedule for the shuttle. The times were not conducive to our schedule so we just paid the $25 for disney parking and took our own car. The hotel itself did not charge us for parking, which was a pleasant surprise. We stayed in the suite with the bunk beds. Just have a talk with the kids about the bunkbeds and being safe on them. The freezer didnt work too well, but i noticed that things shoved to the back of the freezer did freeze, but anything in front did not freeze. The kids and I enjoyed the pool. If you are looking for a safe and clean place to stay that won't break the bank, then this is it. Went to Applebees several times, just have to request vouchers from the front desk for free kids meals before you go. The restaurant is right next to the front desk. The hotel also had a nice store with almost everything you could need (over the counter meds, beach toys, post cards, food, drinks) and the prices were fair too. About a 10 min drive to the parks. My only gripe was the schedule of the shuttle. I wish they would expand the times.

The room had everything we needed , including a microwave and mini fridge. The front desk was friendly, and it was nice to have access to transportation to the parks each day, although we did have to pay $18 in parking each day so we may have been able to stay somewhere off property for less money, free parking, free breakfast and just drive and park at the parks each day or take an Uber. There was nice lighting in the bathroom, but no make up mirror. There was a built in shelf in the bathroom that was a nice place to put all of our toiletries and such. The vanity was an average size. The room was a little dirty for my taste - see the attached picture - and these were taken after I had already cleaned it with one disinfectant wipe (I always travel with wipes). The beds were comfortable, there was a nice balcony, the pool looked nice, but we didn't use it, and the noise level was low. The closet was small and awkward to access, but it did have one. The room was a decent size, but it was still a little tight for four adults - my husband and I and our two grown children. I might consider staying here again, but for the price and cleanliness of the room, I will probably take my chances at another hotel next time.

Just arrived back in the UK after spending 15 nights at the Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista.
We were a bit concerned before we went regarding peoples experiences of housekeeping and rooms not been cleaned/trash removed/towels replaced etc. However we need not have worried. We had a fantastic stay.
The resort is in a good location surrounded by restaurants and a Walgreens and 7/11 with a Starbucks, Dunkin and Subway a 5-10 min walk away.
Shuttles to the resorts were always on time and the drivers polite, informative and with a great sense of humour. Big shout out to Larry who did the majority of the morning runs, as we loved him. Also the gentleman that did the pick ups in the evening but we didn’t get his name.
Room was clean and tidy and large enough for the two of us. We stayed in an outside standard double Queen room on the top floor. Air con was great and loved the keurig coffee machine. Housekeeping were fantastic in my opinion and if you needed anything you could just leave them a note for any supplies. They were in everyday (except Labour Day) and the beds were made, trash removed and replenishment of towels, coffee etc.
Only negatives was that there was only one lift near us and it tended to be busy most of the time meaning a wait for it (which wasn’t ideal when we were rushing for the shuttle). Also there wasn’t much in the way of storage with one chest of drawers and one closet. We managed as there were only the two of us but having 4 guests in one room would be a struggle storage wise.
The pool area was great and generally quiet although was occasionally busy in the evenings. Was lovely to go and relax after a long day in the parks. Towels are also available there. There is a pool bar which also serves food (from the Applebees nearby) but we didn’t use this service. Drinks prices were slightly above average with 2 pints (Michelob and Bud light) costing approx $12.50. The staff were always lovely both in the hotel and at the pool bar.
We didn’t have a car so occasionally used Lyft or Uber to get to and from the parks if the shuttle times were convenient. Prices ranged from $9 to $20 depending on where you were going and surge rates. Magic kingdom/Universal was the most expensive as the furthest away. Disney Springs was the cheapest.
We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again when we come back. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

I'll start by saying we go to Orlando often and was disappointed in this hotel. It was just OK. We would not stay here again. The price really wasn't any better than some of the better resorts we have stayed at. (This hotel shouldn't be named a "resort").

The good- Clean, felt safe, staff we passed in halls were very friendly, large room (#405). We could see fireworks at 9:00 from our room., Applebees attached to hotel, which was convenient for cocktails and room service. It was nice we were close to parks we were going to, Epcot & Hollywood Studios. We used Uber, easier than the shuttles.

The bad--Shower pipes so loud! Toilet ran after using, (had to remove tank cover and jiggle after each use), Tried to order breakfast room service for Hubbys birthday, called front desk because we had nothing to order off of. They sent up a card for the door that had a very limited menu,( evidently I missed the FULL menu in book provided.) When I asked front desk, they told me the card for the door was what they had for room service.
The front desk was an issue. The 1st lady we encountered checking in wouldnt let me get a word in edgewise. Kept telling me about shuttles, I had no interest, I told her we were taking Uber! When checking out, the older lady asked how our stay was and then when I said it was just OK, she just nodded. Same when I told her toilet was not working right, pipes were loud. She didn't care, apologize , or just simply show any emotion. Maybe she hears the same complaint day after day?! I also told her I wanted to make sure the room service we didn't order that was brought to our room mistakenly wasn't on our bill. She basically scolded me for not going to Applebees and questioning them about it. Sorry, I was in my pajamas when it happened, so no, I didn't go to Applebees. If the hotel is using Applebees for their room service they should take part of responsibility.

I rarely write reviews, but I use reviews a lot when researching hotels! This is the 1st time in years that I have regretted my choice. Will not stay here again. I'll pay just a little more for better stay.

We just finished a delightful two night stay at this resort and after having traveled 10 days already and this being our third resort in multiple cities, we had a fantastic stay!

I am writing this lengthy review because after reading 50 or so reviews before booking, I’m concerned about what people said previously. The reviews are unfair to staff and people who work so hard to make our vacation stays great. As a family who travels, we paid less for this stay than we paid at other places and received equal or better service and a larger room. This resort is more like a hotel than villas and like most places situated one exit from Disney, it is located on a busy road. (They’ve recently added a light in front of the hotel to assist.

At check-in, the staff was extremely accommodating and changed us to a pool view room on a higher floor. When we got to our room, we were super surprised how large our room was! We had two queen beds, a refrigerator, a full table, a full desk AND a large area left over. If you travel with bikes or lots of gear, this is the place to stay!

Our room was clean and well stocked. The two jacuzzis / pool areas were nice. They close at 11 PM nightly, so we didn’t have any problems with noise at night. The common areas were nice and not too loud. The hand sanitizer areas were stocked throughout the property.

The employees were helpful and kind throughout our stay.

There’s an Applebee’s attached and children under 12 eat free for lunch breakfast lunch and dinner. For breakfast, the adults can eat a breakfast buffet that is $15.95 each. For dinner, our son walked to Applebees and bought his meal. Across the street is a Chick-fil-A and Wendy’s. Within walking distance is a Bahama breeze and many other restaurants. The premium outlet mall is less than a mile away. Disney is one exit away. You’re literally surrounded by everything. The hotel shuttle runs buses to and from Disney several times a day.

Check out was a breeze and the employee again was kind.

I hope this helps you and happy travels!

Stayed at the hotel for 5 nights while visiting Disney World and Universal Studios during Christmas time in 2019. Overall pretty good stay and had a wonderful time.

Location wise, the hotel is about 20 minutes drive to Disney and Universal, we didn't use the hotel shuttle service and always used Uber/Lyft to go to the parks and found no problem getting a ride in 5 minutes. There are a lot of restaurants nearby, a 7-eleven, a Walgreen, all within walking distances, which we found to be very convenient.

The hotel room we stayed in was huge, the bed was comfy, and I like how every staff was so friendly and treated customers with respect. They have a nice pool and jacuzzi, the latter we enjoyed very much. Because we came back from Universal really late the night before we checked out, we ended up requesting a late check out the next day (twice), and they were very kind to honor our request.

Had a great time and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Disney/Universal in Orlando.

The Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista is priced just above the cheap budget hotels, so you do have to take this into consideration when reviewing. You are not paying for the Ritz, so should always have low/medium expectations.

We found the hotel to have a good location. 10/15 minutes from the Disney Parks and 20/25 minutes from the Universals (depending on the time of day) so overall a good location.

There is free parking on site which is a bonus.

The rooms are large and on the whole clean, although ours was not hovered or dusted for a number of says so we had to call reception and to be fair the cleaners did a great job the next day.

The rooms unfortunately do not have any windows that can open, so you are faced with either being very hot during the night? Or being kept awake by the aircon unit, which was the loudest I've ever heard.

We found the beds to be very soft and the pillow too. They did have pillowcases that said soft or firm but these were put on randomly as we had mainly soft pillows and even the firm ones were soft. This affected my sleep somewhat, along with the loud aircon.

As a base it's a sufficient hotel with pools and hot tubs, plus a good restaurant attached which is open late.

The hotel is a chain so will have a good basic level of everything so you know you wont be faced with any major problem so rest assured you should have a good stay here.

There was a power cut which effected the lifts for almost 2 days, so we had to climb 6 flights of stairs 3 or 4 times as the lifts were out...which after a long tiring day at the parks was not a ideal situation.

All in all a solid 3 out of 5 and if the price was right we would return in future if our main goal was the Disney Parks. Next time we would probably upgrade to a room with a balcony so we could get some fresh air and turn off the loud aircon unit.

We stayed two nights, it’s a great option compared to Disney resorts. Hotel room was clean and the beds are very comfortable! There is a shuttle bus, however we did take an Uber to save a little time. It’s about $13 one way to most of the parks. We had an end unit which was a little noisy but as we didn’t have young kids that wasn’t a huge issue for us. If you have young kids and got an end unit near the pool you might want to ask for a different room. Pool was open, and the hot tub was as well-a nice option as it’s a bit chilly in January. Room service due to covid does not clean the room every day-but will get you anything you might need.
Applebee’s is attached to the hotel and is a great option for a quick meal, there are a lot of restaurants near by as well. Over all a great stay!
