We went down the weekend of the super bowl so every hotel including this one was very expensive. I have to say Marcello was the best, he made sure we always got the best treatment. We had a cabana pool room. The doors are glass so with the curtains open there is not much privacy. The door barely locks too so was a little nerve wracking to me security wise, as no peep hole even. The room was huge though with a big walk in closet. Very hot water but shower was run down. Everything was dated and chipped, the toilet had brown rim. However best bed and pillows I have had at a hotel. They give toothpaste/toothbrush/razors/chocolate and daily drink which is a nice touch. The pool is small but fine for the hotel size. The location to the beach was very convenient, one block walk! Every day we walked to Starbucks which was 2 min walk. The location is decent but not close to Lincoln or Ocean Drive. I would not have stayed here but got a deal on priceline where you get three hotel choices at a reduced price and one is picked for you. I think this is really a three star hotel. I don’t think I would stay again as I prefer 4 star hotels. If it was $100 a night I would say it is a good deal for budget travelers but we paid $500 a night so definitely skewed my opinion, but it was supply and demand!

Having returned from a 2 night stay at the Red south beach hotel, I have no complaints to make. Located at the north part of south beach, the hotel is in a quieter location than some of the other hotels nearer ocean drive, but still a walkable distance to the main area. A block from the beach, the hotel combines the best of both worlds.

Staff at the hotel are friendly, particularly the doormen who are always on hand to help.

I had a slight communication issue upon check in ( I arrived very early in the morning and was told that at a cost of $57 I could check in from 8:30 onwards, this wasn’t the case), however the team explained where the miscommunication had come from and then upgraded my room to a suite, which was appreciated.

The room was spacious, and well maintained, though cleaning staff could be a little noisy in the corridor later in the evening.

All in all a good stay.

The hotel is located near the beach less than 3 minutes walk. Very convenient. You can also get beach towels, umbrella and beach chairs. Nury provided me recommendation for Spa and I got a discount. Thanks Nury! Be careful to close the door like you bang them! Because the door does not close properly. Especially when you go out, make sure to double check that door is closed and locked. There is no safety lock inside the room for the door so make sure before going to sleep to make sure the the door is closed (by like slam the door!, literally). Hotel Management need to look into it for safety.

We stayed for 10 nights. Room rate includes breakfast. The breakfast buffet is the same for entire stay. They don't change it. If you are staying long in this hotel, you will get to the point that you get 'tired' of the same breakfast you get every morning. So 1 day, I decided to order from their ala carte menu just to make my breakfast different. I ordered Bon Appetito. It includes 2 pancakes, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage and bacon. When I got my order, the pancakes (hard and small pancakes), scrambled egg are actually same as in the buffet menu and it cost $14 (plus gratuity and tax). So basically the only addition are the bacon, sausage and potatoes. I was expecting that the pancakes is made bigger and fresh as well as the scrambled eggs and not that taking it from the buffet. You know what I mean. It was like, room rate includes bfst but then when I tried to order from ala carte, it is actually the same except that it added the potato and meat but it cost me $14 (plus gratuity and tax)? The pancake is always serve cold, small and hard! My suggestion, the restaurant needs to make ala carte menu fresh (made to order) and not take them from the buffet. Especially long staying Guests, they get tired with same bfst and then suddenly half of their ala carte plate will get the same from buffet instead of just to make it different and fresh.

Also, I suggest the buffet menu to be changed maybe every 2 or 3 days just to get more varieties, instead of serving exactly the same every day.

I can stay again to this hotel and can have bfst in the same restaurant for 2 days but no more than that and would try some bfst somehwere else. The restaurant said that their bfst buffet cost $17 (expensive for so limited variety - toast, eggs, boiled eggs, fruits, biscuits, coffee/tea and small/hard pancakes) but we went to RIU one day and they served MASSIVE bfst buffet with live cooking station for just $20.99.

My husband surprised me with a trip for my 50th birthday. He got a groupon for Red South Beach. This is a boutique hotel, very small and a bit older. But it was clean and staff was friendly. We had lunch at the pool the first day, excellent paninis. The owner of the restaurant is great, but looked a bit overwhelmed. We had the bunch once, very over priced and not a great selection. Ran out of coffee, plates, milk, etc. The brunch at the Riu across the street is more expressive but so much better.
Never used the pool as it was the coldest weather in Miami history, but looked nice.
We were upgraded to a pool room, huge space, king bed that was extremely comfy, but the box spring was very squeaky. The shower and bathroom is huge and clean. Everything is "well used" and looks lives in. Not dirty, but not updated.
Maid service everyday, towels when needed, bed made daily. Beach towels provided and you could borrow beach chairs if needed (we didn't need this trip)
Centrally located, close to the trolley and bus stop and 1 block from the beach.
If you can get a good deal on this place, I would go. Just remember it is what it is.
Beware on the weekends every hotel has very loud music trying to get people to come in. The speakers are in the pool area and is was extremely loud until about 11pm. During the week not bad.

The property seemed nice enough at first, we checked into our first room air-conditioned didn’t work, went back downstairs checked into the second room, air conditioner didn’t work again, went back downstairs checked into the third room air conditioner finally worked. In between checking in with the front desk asking for a different room they said their air conditioning was fine, the rooms was reading over 80° On the thermostat that is not fine! Second to last day, housekeeping left our door open all day and night came back about 2:30 AM found everything wide opened in our room. They did not seem bothered by it whatsoever and said they were sorry. They also said they were Going to give us a refund and they never did. They do not care about their customers they have no customer service they don’t care about negligence on their staff. Do not stay there, there are numerous other hotels in South Beach that are worth it, too bad this one doesn’t care about their patrons.

Subpar experience, found the location to be away from much of the action found in the restaurants and shops further south on Collins Ave (about a 30 min walk). With the advertised "half-block" proximity to the beach, was surprised to find that even the nearest beach entrances were closed during the stay with open entrances a significant distance away. The disparity between online photos and the real room left the only redeeming quality of the hotel being its proximity to Starbucks. The room itself was subpar with dirty carpets, and happened to have a roach crawl across the bed while in it. Brought it up to the front desk and the complaint was met with an indifferent shrug and a mention that "there are roaches everywhere" as if to ask "what can we do?" Raised the question of how clean the entire room was, especially given current circumstances. Was thankfully moved to another room for the night but in asking for recompense, was given the runaround of "speak to the manager" several times.

The hotel staff were very helpful, especially the receptionist Lianet, we travelled from NZ and she spent time with us explaining great locations to visit nearby during our stay. the rooms are exactly as seen on the website and comfortable to stay in. Location is great, 2 mins walk to the beach and on the same street as good restaurants and fast food shops. Has happy hour at the bar which we utilised each night from 4-6pm. Would recommend if you are travelling as a couple or with family, we were a family of four and the rooms were plenty big enough to hold all our luggage plus bodies without it being uncomfortable. We would stay again.

This hotel looks nothing like the pictures, very dingy inside and outside. Early check in was requested and they (front desk) said that they had no control over it, it was all up to housekeeping to get it done. It took them 2 hours and 15 minutes to clean our room at which point it was well after the check in time of 3pm. The hallway to our room was so dark we could barely see the rooms. Our door looked like it could just be pushed open, you could see the light coming out from the room through the cracks in the door frame. Our room was decently clean, but the bathroom was not clean (shower floor was dirty, looked like mold under the bathroom sink). Front desk claimed we had a better view and it was literally right above a dirty alley and you could see a tiny glimpse of the ocean. They only have one person working at the restaurant which means extremely slow service and the food tastes like they got it from a dollar store. They had electrical boxes throughout the hotel and outside with exposed wiring within reach of children. One of the days, housekeeping left our room door open after cleaning it for what we assume to be hours (thank god nothing was missing.) There were two front desk men that were extremely rude and we had to walk away at one point because the older balding gentlemen was being horrible and we couldn't take it anymore. We were extremely disappointed with the entire stay at this hotel and wish we would've spent a tiny bit of extra money on a nicer hotel on the actual beach.

This is such a horrible hotel I feel I am compelled to write a review. One case in example: this is the first and only hotel I’ve ever heard to refuse storing luggage for customers after checking out “due to covid”. If you can’t even have this basic service, then don’t even open, right? This is one facet that reflects the whole experience you should expect. Staff were consistently rude (except window). And the rooms were super dirty (with multiple hairs etc from previous customers and filthy sink etc). The walls were so paper thin through which you hear both the loud bath room on one side and others talking on the other side word by word. They posted on the website that they had breakfast and beach chairs/towels but there was nothing , even though restaurant was offering full-blown breakfast for sale, but they still charge the “resort fee”. See the pictures for yourself. In addition, the place felt insecure, anyone walking in and out up to the rooms without barrier. I wouldn’t stay here ever again even if I were paid to do so.

It is very close to airports around 20 drive and is close to ports around 15 minutes drive, you will find that Red south beach is the perfect location as it is a 3-minute walk to the beach as well. One thing I will say from experience is do your homework on restaurants, they can be expensive but if you a clever you can eat very well for less. My recommendation is the Tropical Beach Cafe that is a 5-minute walk from this Hotel. The Hotel does wonderfull food as well and very reasonable in price and quality.
