Discovering Annie Lake Cabins was truly finding a gem in the Yukon. We went there from Hawaii hoping to experience the Aurora Borealis but the skies were cloudy, the moon was bright, and the activity was weak during our stay there and as a result, we never got to see any spectacle of color in the northern skies. You would think that we would be totally disappointed but we had the most enjoyable stay at Annie Lake Cabins. From the time that Mathieu picked us up in Whitehorse, we already knew it was going to be a great experience. He was so pleasant and informative about the area and it's history. Our dog sledding experience at Alayuk that Alexia arranged for us was an experience that will be long remembered. Everything was provided for us including transportation, warm clothes for mushing, and a great team of dogs with a sled. My son, my wife, and I each had our own team of dogs and sled. Marcel, who will compete in the Iditarod, was a great guide.
But best of all were the meals prepared by Alexia and the feeling of comfort in our cozy, private cabin. The relaxing conversations with Alexia during our meals made us feel like we were at home with a good friend. Visiting with their dogs (a lot) was also an experience as well as watching Mathieu getting his team hooked up to his sled for a practice run.
Missing the Aurora Borealis only gives us an excuse to visit Alexia and Mathieu at the Annie Lake Cabins again. We highly recommend anyone to stay at Annie Lake Cabins when visiting the Yukon.

Dear Kathleen and Sanford, Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so happy that you had a great time here with your son. You were amazing guests! I wish I could have spent many more nights talking with you. Mathieu and I are already waiting for you to come back, have another chance to see the Northern Lights and discover a little more of the wonderful Yukon. All the dogs send you a special and warm hello.

Six nights at Annie Lake left us wishing we could stay longer...a perfect place to escape, unwind and savour the magnificent scenery. Truly a peaceful and unbelievably beautiful setting, with gracious hosts, delicious breakfasts and a comfortable and spotlessly clean cabin. A great location to explore the Southern Lakes, and beyond! We felt really lucky to have found this gem of a place-highly recommend!

The cabin is really nice and welcoming. We were looking for a place to unwind and felt very lucky. This is a gem in the wilderness, yet very close from Whitehorse.
We could explore the Southern Lakes area and had an amazing time. At the end of the day, we were looking forward to returning to our cozy little cabin. We wish we could have stayed longer!

On our way back from a road trip in Alaska, we stopped for a relaxing stay at Annie Lake Cabins.
We enjoyed the cosy and modern cabin, that was just what the doctor ordered. The views are an absolute delight.
If you are looking for comfort and privacy in the middle of the wilderness, you won’t find a better place!

Wow! This place is amazing! It's about 25mins away from Whitehorse, but well worth it anyways! I can't say enough great things about this place. The cabins are a simple yet modern, and very clean. The breakfast is light: fruit, yogurt, and muffin. And it is the PERFECT place to see the Northern Lights (if you're lucky enough). It's private, and feels like you're one with the wilderness and wildlife.

This B&B was marked by tranquility and beautiful surroundings. Tke facilities were clean and well setup. The continental breakfast was nutricious and very tasty, and the hosts friendly and helpful. Loacted 20 minutes south of Whitehorse, it was in the perfect position to visit the surrounding area, including Skagway.

We stayed here for 2 wonderful nights in early March and loved every minute. The cabins are modern yet homely, clean and comfy, with a good hot shower and bathroom, plus a heater that keeps you extra warm when it's cold outside. For us the cabins were a great place to unwind after a busy day exploring in the Yukon. We went with the dinner baskets delivered to your room as we had planned long days exploring. These truly were delicious with a hearty meal and dessert that was way better than anything we expected and made the whole cabin experience even more cozy. Breakfast was really nice and a great place to have a chat about what we should do for the day. In case your wondering the view from the cabins is just as spectacular as the photos from their website. Alexia and Mathieu were really warm and welcoming hosts, with lots of great advice. We also did snow shoeing down to the frozen lake which was a tone if fun and a good way to unwind in the afternoon. Mathieu helped draw us a map so we wouldn't get lost. Overall our stay here was really lovely and would definitely head back not only for the location but also the people (...& dogs).

Modern commodities in a rural setting. If gravity-fed cold showers and wood burning stove heating is not your thing, this is the place for you, period. Heated cabins and full bathroom with hot water and shower are just as you see them in the website pictures, no photoshopping there. The landscape in the other hand is absolutely breathtaking in person and you'll have no trouble just being there admiring the view. The food is absolutely delicious, hearty three-course meals and the owners are very accommodating to your taste. I thought I would never repeat my trip to the Yukon, but this place is special and made me not want to leave. Unsurpassable value and unequal hosts--very caring and yet very respectful of your peace and quiet, as it should be. Do consider renting a car over multiple-day stays to further explore the surroundings: Carcross, Tagish, etc. It will also allow you chase the aurora from different locations if you are into photography. Highly recommended.

We stayed at a cabin for 2 nights with a 15 yr. old. The cabin was so comfortable, beds very cozy, bathroom was perfect. The views from the cabin were gorgeous, the landscape exceeded our expectations. Our hosts were so friendly and accommodating. The food we were served during our stay was great tasting and nourishing, just what we needed after a wonderful day of dog sledding! We look forward to returning as a family and a couple, hopefully this summer. We will happily recommend Annie Lake Cabins to our friends and family.

"If you are in for aurora watching, make sure you book around a new moon (phase) and if you can, check out the latest news on sun activity, cycle and sunspots to maximize your chances of getting good forecast and actually seeing it. Also, check for average weather coverage on your dates. The cabins overlook part of the Watson/Wheaton valley and many of the peaks that border Annie Lake, all towards an epic panorama that spans East-South and West. Active auroras will be easily seen rising from behind the trees and directly up above you, sometimes even continuing southward, towards the landscape views. Do allow yourself enough nights to have the chance of seeing a moderate or active aurora, if you get lucky."
