Don’t just rent one unit rent them all! Great resort for a family reunion. We stayed in the beautiful and upscale. Main house called King Palm. Perfect for the family to gather for meals. It could use more seating for meals. The resort provides beautiful amenities. They had plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, beach carts and even coolers on wheels to take to the beach. The pool and common area provided a paradise that included a Tiki Hut bar, with plenty of tables and stools as well as a game area with corn hole and shuffle board. Shawn, from Signature Rentals was even kind enough to to take a group picture of the entire family. Him and his wife were available daily for anything we may need.

The beach is just a short walk away and it is a great place for shore fishing. Our guys caught a variety of fish and sharks All sizes.

See you next year!

Across the street from the beach. Spacious suites. Great outside pool/patio/tiki bar. BYOB to tiki hut! Grill for grilling and places for fun to eat. All of your beach needs are there - chairs/umbrellas/wagons for transport. Great deal for the $$!

After endless searching for the "perfect" place to spend Christmas with the family, I discovered Palm Terrace. A gem indeed.

My husband and 2 boys (aged 7 and 10) drove from Michigan to spend a warm sunny Christmas in Fort Meyers Beach. Upon our arrival, we learned there was a plumbing problem with our original apartment - the owners upgraded us to a larger apartment at no additional charge - which we were welcomed to stay in until new guests arrived...almost our entire stay!

Apartments are very clean - kitchens are stocked with everything you need - bathrooms are beyond clean - big towels are provided - expandable clothes hanging rack for wet suits and towels - clothes baskets for dirty clothes - comfy furniture - air conditioning - fans - clean heated pool - laundry facilities - apartments are stocked with cleaning supplies for the quick one-two - movies and books to use free of charge - beautiful landscaping - outdoor grill. Pool always has plenty of chairs and umbrellas - owners were always available to answer questions and full of suggestions for eating, shopping, and seeing the sites.

A couple of highlights: The Fish House (located down the street from the Palm) has great food - the Good Will store (just across the bridge off the island) had lots of t-shirts and other stuff the higher priced gift stores have on the island. My boys got alligator heads for $4 and on the island, they were $10. We also picked up a couple of beach towels for $4.99. Lover's Key - trolley picks you up in the parking lot and brings you to the beach - AND then when you've had enough, it brings you back to your car...price is included in park entrance fee - there are WAY more shells here than Sanibel. Next year, we're bringing our bikes to tour the park - fishing pole are a must have. There is also a movie theater right down the street that we hit for the "must see" Christmas movie. The theater has servers bring your drinks and snacks...they also have a full menu so you can grab dinner and movie in the same place! We didn't eat here, so I can't comment on the food.

Apartments are located right across the street from the beach - the Palm has a private beach entrance. And it really is "just across the street". When we were there (week of Christmas) the road was not as busy as you read on other posts here. Sure there were times of day it got busy, but for the most part - the island was quiet and crossing to the beach was easy. When we were leaving (December 29th), I could tell the traffic was starting to pick up...more people on the island and more cars on the street. The people that live on the island will stop and wave you through....when in Fort Meyers, do as the locals do. : )

As we were shopping, we noticed a flyer for a candle light Christmas Eve service put on by a local church...ON THE BEACH! With the candles and the waves and the guitar - it was awesome.

We loved Fort Meyers and enjoyed our stay at the Palm very much - and we can't wait to return next Christmas!

The unit we stayed in was aweful!!!

The individuals below us where employees of the resort and were very unwelcoming and rude. They came to our door within 4 hours of being checked in and asked us to stop walking.

I called the manager several times to ask for assistance with no feedback. I had to call every week for several weeks in order to hear they could not assist me.

The resort itself is good...not great. Needs updating and back door and patio did not lock.

We stayed three nights in May 2010.

I am embarassed that it has taken me this long to sit down and type a review on a place that our family has longed to return to since the day we left. While planning our trip to Ft. Myers Beach, Florida- I spent weeks researching the area....places to stay, things to do, places to eat, etc. We are a family of four with two small children (4 and 5 years old) and were in need of kid friendly, affordable accomodations. I made my decision to book an apartment at Palm Terrace because it received shuch marvelous reviews and because it fit into our tight budget. Because this was our first time to Florida and we did not know what to expect, we only stayed for three nights. Upon arrival, we knew our stay would not be long enough!

The complex consists of three buildings with a total of eight apartments. We stayed in a two bedroom, two bathroom unit on the top floor. It was spotlessly clean, spacious and offered all the comforts of home...cable TV, AC that worked perfectly, comfortable beds, more than enough towels, pots/pans/dishes and cooking gadgets/utensils. Oh, did I mention previously that it was immaculately clean! Some previous reviews mentioned how the furniture was dated. I would agree with this. However, it was in excellent condition, no rips, tears or stains. Although the furniture style was dated, it was in "near new condition" and has obviously been maintined and taken care of over the years. Personally, if continuing to use the existing perfectly functioning furniture keeps the lodging rate low, I support that.

Someone on Trip Advisor had offered a previous review that said that the traffic from Estero Blvd. was noisy and made it difficult to sleep. However, we did not notice any noise from the traffic outside our main bedroom balcony which indeed overlooked Estero Blvd. with the beach just on the other side.

The pool area offers a clean, well kept courtyard perfect for relaxing under one of the many patio umbrellas. The flowers, bushes and overall landscaping is maintained well and is beautiful. The pool was sparkling clean and most importantly warm. Although the month of May offers warm temperatures at Ft. Myers Beach, cold pool water can be very uncomfortable even on a hot day. The water temperature was perfect and our young children spent nine hours in the pool one day! The pool area offers a nice restroom great for going "potty" without having to go back to your apartment. With small children this is a big perk to the pool area.

There is a coin operated washer and dryer on site. Although we did a load every day, I never had to wait in line to use it. There is onsite free parking that is well lit at night. There is a charcoal barbecue grill on site for your use.

The beach is located directly across the street. The Palm Terrace Apartment Complex is located on one of the more narrow parts of the beach, which was one of the reasons I booked these accomodations. I did not want to haul two small kids and all of the beach gear across 700 feet of sand. By the time we would get to our destination everyone would have been exhausted. But, the beach just across Estero Blvd. from the Palm Terrace Apartments is a short walk to the gulf water. A very reasonable distance if you have small children, are an older individual, or you just plain don't want to walk too far. The beach was beautiful and we saw many dolphin every day. Although our four year old daughter would tell you she was very disappointed that we did not get to see a mermaid!! ha

Peter and Deborah are the owners and they obviously take great pride in the accomodations they offer. They made the reservation process easy as well as check in and check out a breeze. We had several inflatable toys for the pool and Peter had a small air compressor he let us borrow that saved my husbands lungs! Peter and Deborah both work very hard to keep the courtyard, pool and apartments sparkling clean. They go out of their way to make your stay a pleasurable experience.

Our young kids were the only ones at Palm Terrace Apartments the three nights we were there. Although a family freindly place to stay, I'm sure our children's shrills of delight in the pool, were somewhat disrupting to some of the guests. Not to mention our evening lizard hunts by flashlight. But, Peter and Deborah always had a smile on their face and something nice to say about the kids whenever we saw them. We have friends in Ft. Myers and Peter and Deborah had no problem with them joining us one afternoon at the beach/pool area while the kids swam and us adults visited.

Without a doubt I would recommend the Palm Terrace Apartments in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. In fact, I have recommended it to all our friends and family. It's an excellent, clean, affordable accomodation at a great location. We plan to return again this year (2011). The only thing I will change this time? A longer stay!

Safe Travels.

We are grateful to KinColorado for their very kind review. We never ask our guests to write reviews, so it is extremely gratifying when they take the trouble to do so. KinColorado mentioned that while they didn't have a problem with the street noise, other guests have mentioned it. Since their visit we have installed all new insulated, impact-resistant windows and sliders, which cut the noise down dramatically. So even people who are sensitive to noise will no longer have a problem.

Our 2 day stay was much shorter that this accomodation might normally focus on. It is a privatly run apartment type location where groups or families probably stay for weeks on end as a 'home from home'.
The accommodation was spotless, and contained everything you could possibly want. (We let a holiday home ourselves in the UK and know what that requires).
The location is ideal very close to a long beach, yet set back and secluded.. The beach wasn't as clean as others we visited around Florida (nor was Captiva) so maybe this is a County problem. The pool and garden were spotless and cared for daily by the incredily attentive (almost too attentive) proprietors.

My family and friends have been staying at Palm Terrace for about four years now, twice sometimes three times a year. As residents of Miami, we all enjoy a little getaway from the traffic, noise and hustle and bustle. This is the perfect place. Debbie and Peter are always warm and welcoming and the apartments are a home away from home. The rooms are so clean and comfortable, the pool always sparkling and the white sandy beach just across the street. We are always sad to leave, but we know we'll be back soon, keeping with the tradition of our mini-vacations at Palm Terrace.

We stumbled upon this place by accident. What a great accident it turned out to be. The apartments are cute and very clean. Everything you need is in there. Towels, bed linens and kitchen items. There's a grocery store up the road so you can stock up on things for your stay. They have beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers for a day at the beach, which is directly across the street and exclusive to the guests. there are bicycles in the garage if you want to take a ride. everything was great. The staff is super friendly and extremely nice!! Cant wait to go back!!! It was a great vacation with zero troubles!!

Several gal friend's and I stayed here for a long weekend reunion! The resort was such a great place to stay and the (hosts) who were taking care, while the owners were on a mini vaca, couldn' t have been more gracious!! Thank you Tom and Tonda! There were a few quirks-- but we dealt with them. The resort is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of 'Times Square' that we enjoyed it even more!! (I) would definitely recommend Palm Terrace Resort-- for the shear beauty of the place! Thank you Susan for being so accommodating !! Marcia
