We stayed here for three nights while coming home from Key West, our check in was fast and pleasant. While this hotel was slightly dated everything was clean and in perfect working order. Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and we had a great view of the Gulf, even though we had one of the side rooms and not direct ocean front. One really nice feature was once we were in our room, everything was QUIET! Seriouslly with the doors shut we couldn't hear anything, it made for a really nice sleep.
I really liked the fact that our room had everything we needed, such as detergent for the washer, dish soap and paper towels for the sink ect. They even had office supplies like paper clips, tape, pen and paper and scissors! Not that we needed that sort of thing but the fact it was in the room was nice. In addition our room service was very friendly, cleaned the room well and made sure we had plenty of fresh towels ect.
The beach is directly off the patio, plenty of very soft and clean sand. Pool area was small but clean and never really that crowded. Plenty of chairs, umbrellas ect you could take to the beach.
We left on Monday morning just ahead of hurricane Ian. We were deeply saddened to see the devestation left behind in the Fort Myers area in particular. I looks like this hotel is still standing and hopefully in time they can restore everything. If you are looking for an excellent hotel in the Fort Myers area, this is the one.

Our family of 4 stayed here for spring break and could not be happier with this choice. The Edison is within walking distance to all the restaurants we had on our "must dine" list and the pool alongside of the beach was a little slice of heaven. Our condo was clean, spacious and had everything that we needed. The room itself is dated but is well maintained and has a bit of a charm to it. Housekeeping is very diligent to adhere to cleaniness standards and we loved the concept of the closet where past guests have left chair, umbrellas and pool toys for others to enjoy. We certainly took advantage of that and left a few things for others. The pool was never too busy and was big enough for our kids to enjoy most of the day. We highly recommend this location to those that may be balancing a few different options!

We had just one night to stay in Ft. Myers Beach and found this wonderful gem on a whim. We booked the studio suite with ocean view and were RIGHT ON THE BEACH. It was wonderful. The suite is extremely well equipped and the bathroom was large and sunny with a stackable W/D that actually cleaned clothes! We could only stay one night, so we didn't get to use the pool, but we could see that the pool was SUPER clean.
I've stayed in quite a few place down on FtM Beach, and while it's true that there's a certain "beachy" vibe/smell to the place, that's part of the charm. Florida is its own place. If you're looking for pristine on the beach in the older places, you'll be disappointed. The Edison Beach House was super clean and you could tell they were keeping everything very sanitized. We loved the bright and sunny accommodations and the balcony with a panoramic view of the sand and water. It was so relaxing to listen to the waves crashing on the beach after all the beachgoers had left for the night. It's also right near the pier and downtown which is convenient for walking to the restaurants and shops down there.

I normally do not write reviews however having a background in customer service, I felt my situation was handled with negligence. Having stayed this resort numerous times before I highly recommended this to some of my friends. It was when we entered our room that there was a distinct odor of Clorox throughout the room. We immediately had to open up doors and windows to emit the odor. after that, we decided to sit down on the cushions and everything was soaking wet.Every chair that was available was soaking wet We contacted management and was told that that room was trashed the night before and the cushions and everything was still wet. We were informed by maintenance that we should have been told that ahead of time which we were not. Due to the cool weather there was no place for us to sit and we were told there was nothing they could do about it. After going back and forth we were provided plastic bags to put on the seats and blankets to sit on. This is not what we had anticipated as our short staycation. Had we known this ahead of time we would have been able to make the proper decision as to whether or not it would be feasible for us to stay there. Had management offered to compensate us with a dinner or even apologize for the inconvenience would have been acceptable. We were told that there was nothing they could do! Needless to say we were all very disappointed with the way things were handled. Management was contacted via email, phone call, and as of this date there have been no return calls. Correct response should have been...what can we do to correct this for you would have been acceptable.

Pros Kitchen in rooms Washer and dryer GREAT ocean views
Cons Bed was super Uncomfortable Sheets were super Starchy Dryer took forever Also left rust stains on my clothes.
This place is right on the beach and super close to all the restaurants and town Square. The pool was nice and they had left over beach chairs and umbrella to take down to the beach. My biggest problem with this Property was it needed a super clean very dirty. Carpet was gross and super dusty in are room. All the glass tables and mirrors hadn't been cleaned. This place could be a real gem if they focused on their cleaning but you get what you pay for it was cheap.

Just returned from a two night stay at the resort. Best this going here is the location. You need to consider that the best places to stay are on the north side of the island, especially due to the traffic. Anytime during the day all the way through 8pm there is a huge traffic backup getting to and from the island over the bridge.
Now the Edison Beach House has a terrific location for the beaches, pier access and to get to the downtown area.
The rooms are large, although all the bedroom windows re bolted shut. So your forced to use air conditioning. In our room, the only fresh air was from a small porch slider door.
There is a full kitchen, washer and dryer and good bathrooms. Of course, huge TVs in all the rooms.
I do recommend staying here except for a few minor issues

Having been guests at the Edison Beach House for over 16 years, it seems more like a 2nd home than a hotel. The views to Sanibel Island, the Gulf, and the fishing pier can't be beat! The adjacency to the town center (Times Square) and the well stocked 7-11 across the street make auto trips unnecessary. We're already looking forward to next year and more time in the heated pool.

We decided to do an early fall trip to Ft Myers Beach and always stay at the Edison Beach House, and have for the past 11 years. We were greeted by Tonya and she had us quickly checked in as always. We really enjoy the location of the Edison Beach House right on the beach and a very short walk to the Times Square and all the best restaurants and entertainment. We have another trip planned for late October and know we will be just as satisfied as we have always been. It is always a pleasure to see Marlene during our trips for she and the entire staff take great efforts to see that your vacation stay is most enjoyable.

I came to fort Myers beach for a long weekend with two family members. Edison beach house only had one room left. Their largest that sleeps 7 so we booked it. Even though it was expensive and there was only 3 of us. Our ceiling was dripping water through the night, the WiFi did not work, the dishwater has a puddle of dirty water and our key cards hardly worked. Overall it’s generally a nice place to stay as we’ve been here 4-5 times before. However this stay was less than ideal and when we spoke to the front desk about our issues they didn’t offer much other than “I’ll make a note”. Didn’t offer to fix anything. Didn’t apologize. Didn’t offer to comp our bill in any way. Nothing. Not sure if I’ll come back following this visit, seemed to be a few too many problems for the price we had to pay.

Once again we enjoyed a wonderful fall vacation at The Edison Beach House and our stay was very enjoyable and relaxing. The property has taken great strides in keeping all guest safe and healthy from the COVID-19 pandemic. Check-in was fast friend and convenient. They have a very professional staff that take care of your vacation needs We arrived late from our flight and our check-in documents were awaiting us in their secured lock box. They now have nighttime security but we have never experienced any problems in 11 years of staying here. We have our reservations for our spring vacation and made our fall reservations for next year. Wishing for a speedy recovery for Larry and will be keeping his family in our prayers. See y’all in March.

That have an office, Marlene, Leighan or Tonya will gladly assist you from 9:00 to 9:00. Easiest and most friendly staff I have ever dealt with. Why we have been staying there several times each year for over 12 years.
As long as you keep the door shut. But I have not been there in over a year due to covid. I had to cancel my last trip there due to the pandemic (my state put a restriction in place) and they hit me with a cancelation fee and the folks at Edison were pretty rude, I think I will move down the road to a different place next time.
There are more places to choose from in the Fort Myers Beach area.
