My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights on a recent trip to the Yukon. There are various types of accommodation on the property but we stayed in the Miner’s Tent, which is a wall tent. For an accommodation of this type, is was on the rustic side but absolutely super. The tent was very spacious with two queen (every comfortable) beds, table, couch, fridge, and an absolutely amazing propane heater that heated up the tent in no time. Two of the three days that we were there were quite rainy, and we very much appreciated the awning over the small cozy front porch. Note that the toilet and shower are in a separate building, a mere few steps away, very well lit. It is a normal toilet, not an outhouse or a composting toilet. This facility is shared by other guests in the other tents but there were never any issues with waiting for either the shower or the toilet. There is also a joint outdoor lean to kitchen facility equipped with stove, microwave, and other kitchen essentials for cooking your own meal. Despite being extremely short staffed (as seemed to be the case for so many establishments in the Yukon, especially Dawson City), Doug did an amazing job of keeping everything running smoothly. The only thing we would suggest is a little more toilet paper😀 otherwise kudos to him and this really fun, comfortable and most certainly economical accommodation option in Dawson. Very walkable to everything in town as well.

We spent 6 nights in early July in one of the upper kitchenettes in the Heritage House. We were perfectly happy and comfortable there although it might not be for everyone. We appreciated staying ‘out of town” because it made for some nice walking multiple times a day and could walk to the river easily. We had a front and back balcony sitting area and probably would have enjoyed that more if it hadn’t been so dang hot! The kitchen is very small, but we could have used the tent campers’ outdoor kitchen if we had wanted. The shower water was hot and there was lots of it, a big plus for us. And we found the bedding to be perfectly fine. Outdoor washer dryer ($4 wash. $2 dry) was convenient. The wi-fi was excellent!

We rented 2 of the wall tents. Was a great price, super comfy, very clean. Kids loved doing something different and I loved falling asleep listining to the rain on the tents.

Was a good location, quiet at night which can sometimes be an issue in Dawson in the summer. Anyway, we would stay again.

My wife and I stayed for a couple of days after DCMF. Doug put us in the miner's cabin (honeymoon suite), and our jaws dropped when we opened the door. A beautiful cabin to say the least, well appointed and homey. Would honestly stay there instead of a 5 star hotel. Our stay was absolutely wonderful, relaxed, and the staff were friendly and accommodating (not that we needed anything). It's away from the bustle and noise of 'downtown', but everything is a short walk in Dawson. Highly recommended!

Whitehouse is just outside of main street so easy walking to town and quieter and more unique than boring hotels. The cabins were comfortable for 4 in family. Doug the Owner was great. We moved around our stay and he was totally accommodating.

We stayed here in June, 2012, in the old house, top floor, on the right as you look at it from the front. We are a family of 4: 2 adults, 2 kids. We loved the view of the Yukon out the front window and from our front porch, which is shared with the other upstairs room (4 total units in the house, 2 top and 2 bottom). You must climb outdoor stairs to reach the front porch to enter, or use the rear stairs from the kitchen's back porch, which is not shared. There is a double bed and a single in the front room, and another single in the kitchen. This is an old, old house, so it has its funkiness! Floors not perfectly level, doors fit oddly, kitchen is tiny but very usable. But we found all of this charming, because it was very clean and authentic. It's peaceful here at the very end of the riverfront road, away from all the rest of the tourism. However, walking "into town" is a mere 5 minutes. Parking is on the street and cul-de-sac in front -- plenty of room. The grounds were lovely, flowers and garden. We loved our 3-night stay and would try to stay here again when we visit Dawson City again.

We stayed in Whitehouse cabins in the middle of July, travelling with a group ranging in age from 9 to 79. The Log Cabin Suite was gorgeous and very clean. However, there was a bit of a funny smell. Had a large selection of board games etc. and had a kitchen with coffee! Beautiful hardwood floors, unlike the room in the main house, which had thin carpeting. That room was very bright at night and the furnishings weren't all that nice. Overall, a passable experience. It was cheaper because of the 5-10 minute walk to downtown. We might stay here again but wouldn't recommend it! However, the Log Cabin Suite is a good bet.

Up for a family weding and this was a great place. Stayed in the big house. Split into 4 rooms on two floors of the old house. We stayed on the lower floor. If you stay on the upper floor you have to take the stairs up the back. Was very nice to have a front porch to sit out on and enjoy the night air. We had a nightly fox watch after midnight as a couple nights a fox ran past on the road. The blackout shades are nice since the sun did not go down till 3 am and up again at 5am in July.

Nice place to get away from the downtown area where the locals party till late at night and get a more homely feel. Would stay here again.

I requested the Gold Rush Cabin specifically because my husband is so into the Klondike Gold Rush. It was adorable. We both loved this cabin. Original cabin was dismantled and rebuilt. It was decorated with a nod to olden times thanks to Doug's wife, but totally modern. Cute kitchen was fully stocked, bathroom had claw-foot tub with shower, bed was so comfortable and a good sized front porch to sit out on and watch the Ferry come and go. If you want to grill, you just have to ask and they will put a propane tank on for you. Doug, the owner, was very friendly, and loves to talk about the restoration. He was helpful about where to go and what to see. Grounds are pretty with lots of flowers. Immaculately clean. Laundry facilities available. My only complaint is that the time allowed on wifi is extremely limited. (Seems to be an ongoing theme for this vacation.) You are only allowed a certain amount and when that is used, it's over for that day. Next day you get your allotment and when its gone its gone. I loved this cabin!!! Highly recommend this place even if the wifi is an issue. Well worth the cost.

This group of cabins is in a quiet end of town, near the river. We had a kitchenette unit each time, with balcony view of the Yukon River. Very well-equipped kitchens; you can pick up groceries in town and cook nearly anything here. Nice bathroom amenities. Dog friendly.

are there any two bedroom cabins?
Zurich, Switzerland294 contributions177 helpful votes
Hello As much as I know most of the units only have one bed each. But in the Heritage House (four units), each room has three beds. According to their website one room in the Riverside cabin has two twin beds. I hope this helps.

"There are a number of cabins and wall tents We stayed in the main building (2 cabins up and 2 down) we had a downstairs unit and it was good. The wall tents look great as well with big bed and quilts, and are tucked in behind the cabins."
