The Cove Hotel garners high praise for its friendly and efficient service, with staff that often exceed expectations. Many guests appreciate the spacious and immaculate rooms, though a few have mentioned traffic noise and occasional service hiccups. The hotel's amenities, including a pool and outdoor games, are well-received, despite limited dining options.
Travelers also find great value in the reasonable pricing, even with the added cost of parking. While the need for a car is noted, the hotel’s location is cherished for its convenience to local attractions. We chose to stay here based on the reviews and the price value, and we are so glad we did! This place was such a treat to stay at! A clean and spacious room, friendly & helpful staff, stunning quad area, and a resort feel hotel without the resort prices!! The hotel is very welcoming and the blue color theme throughout the property was stunning! The property was also the perfect size for us, and easy to get to the lobby and car.
We spent 3 blissful days here with our two and four year old kids. The place was only a ten minute drive to the beach and downtown area. There is also a small plaza with groceries, food, and shopping just across the street. We didn’t have to drive much, since everything we needed, was in walking distance.
I loved the option of choosing between the rainfall showerhead and a hand held showerhead in the bathroom. The Vanity light was a plus! The kids particularly loved the blue led light in the room. The black out curtains were perfect for our jetlag, and we often made snack trips to the Wave Lounge to store in our fridge. Sanjay G was helpful in arranging us a room facing the pool. We spent most of our time under the cabanas by the pool area, while the kiddos took a swim. The music playing throughout the property was a nice touch!
We look forward to staying at the Cove again! Keep up the great work!

I was able to spend three days here at the Cove while visiting my son. I arrived in the early evening from a two night camping trip and taking a shower under the rain head shower head was heavenly. I then got a restful sleep in the comfy bed. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was also clean. My room overlooked the pool which I spent a day at relaxing on a lounge chair under the umbrella. The pergolas and cabana were a nice touch surrounded by palm trees giving it a tropical vibe. Would have enjoyed having island music playing instead of the easy listening that was coming through. I ordered breakfast at the Wave cafe and a glass of wine a couple nights. It was a large glass for the price and the staff was very pleasant. The pool area closes at 9pm which was too early. I would have liked to spend more time around the fire pit. And upgrade that could be made to the room would be to remove the carpet and replace with laminate. I will return to this place the next time I am in the area.

Dear slmbd, thank you for choosing The Cove Hotel and providing us with this Excellent review and rating! We're thrilled you enjoyed seemingly all aspects of your stay. I agree night swimming and late night firepit sound nice, but we found 9pm to be a reasonable time that guests wanting to sleep can expect no disturbances outside the room. We hope your future travels will again include a visit to our hotel! Warm regards, Deone

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
A tad off the beaten path, but worth the drive. Nestled in amongst some residential and commercial spaces. Exceptionally clean, well maintained and appointed and great price for the quality of the room.
Large room, king bed with a terrace overlooking the pool and a door (not a slider) leading to the terrace. Bathroom has both a nice wand and tall over head shower (like RIGHT over your head, so feels like standing in a waterfall.
Internet was free, fast and with a good signal. Room was very clean, nicely furnished. If there was any drawback, it was the some of the rooms have doors to an exterior walkway vs. interior hallway, but it was a minor inconvenience. Also, the parking stalls are a bit on the narrow side if you have a wide or long SUV, like the one I was driving.
Nice little restaurant, with simple selections, so if you are looking for a more detailed meal, find a local eatery. But this worked for just a quick and easy bit.
This is a great and affordable place to say in Long Beach.

Dear corehog, Thank you for choosing The Cove Hotel and providing us with this Excellent review! We are so thankful when guests decide it is ok to be outside of the immediate downtown area and find The Cove Hotel to be a great, affordable place to stay such as yourself! Summertime at our pool is our main attraction and as we move into the latter part of May it is becoming the best time to visit. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Safe travels, Deone

The staffing was very friendly. The ambiance of the lobby, and community area was great. Everything was very clean within the room as well as the community area which we really appreciated. The room was good size and bed was comfortable. The hotel bar was good for coffee, food or even late night drink. Though this not completely the hotels fault, I find the hotel is attracting the wrong clientele. We saw numerous 1 bedrooms in which there was 2-3 adults with 2-3 kids coming in and out of the room. We also encountered guests inviting outside visitors with their kids to the pool to enjoy. There was a capacity limit at the pool and sometimes just 2 of these extended guest/overcapacity rooms could hit the capacity limit. When speaking to employees about it, they mentioned they were aware of the situation. There was several arguments and loud children after 9pm but the staffing seemed to enforce quiet hours rule. Paid parking is a good idea as the neighboring area can be shady but spots fill up late at night. If you are looking for a clean, friendly and kid-filled hotel, this is for you!

Dear Craiga926, Thank you for choosing The Cove Hotel for your recent visit to Long Beach! I appreciate all the compliments you have provided. To allow safe social distancing at our pool we have reduced the capacity form 36ppl to 18ppl and implemented a wristband tracking system. As you confirm we did not have full compliance from all guests with this, and a few other policies... we are pleased to announce we have hired someone 7days per week to oversee the pool and enforce quiet hours! I can assure you next visit we will have fixed these issues that we have never experienced pre-pandemic. It goes without saying typical operations have changed for all businesses, but just like the successful ones we are pivoting! Safe travels, Deone

We had a fabulous 3 weeks at 6 national parks, staying at 13 lodgings. The Cove was our final night before our flight home and among our favorites. I wish we had more time to enjoy it!
They used texting well to communicate before arrival. We got in late, and the check-in folks were somewhat mechanical. But when we got into our room--upgraded to a "suite," we were delighted. Although they are right on the busy road, it was a sweet sanctuary, calm and cool and roomy.
The bathroom was huge, with lots of storage (both hanging and drawers), a tub, a shower with a Swedish shower head plus regular, and a separate toilet room. (The frosted doors may be a little transparent for more modest folks.) The beds were comfy with nice quality pillows and sheets.
The doorways face into a courtyard with an inviting pool. There was easy and ample parking around the hotel on the outside rim.
This was one of the best stays at an amazing value we've had anywhere. Thank you!

Once we arrived the gentlemen at front desk was having several complications with our payment method which was debit. He said he only accepted debit or cash but then continued to charge both of our cards which meant we had to call our bank to cancel one charge. The rooms are very nice and clean. A few stains on the floor but the beds are nice. If you’re thinking of ordering from room service. Don’t. Absolutely a let down. Food wasn’t properly heated/ cooked. Wasn’t very organized and weren’t as friendly as you’d think. They also charge for parking. The pizza was essentially a kids four slice pizza for nine dollars.

Dear Lopezrosie, Thank you for choosing The Cove Hotel for your recent visit to Long Beach, we appreciate you as our guest. I would like to research your experience a bit more as we certainly accept credit cards... actually preferred over debit card and cash... I'm a bit confused about this one! I do apologize if an error was made. I'm proud of our evening Food & Beverage service, but there is always a possibility of an exception. Again, I apologize if this was the case with you. Our pizza is a kids size, but our most popular item on the menu... I hope we can regain your confidence and next time you can post that the first experience was an anomaly. Until then, safe travels! Deone

Check in was easy, was given two card keys, room was spacious and clean and the service was great. The room came with a big flat screen, a mini fridge and microwave and a keurig machine. The shower was really nice. I would definitely recommend this place and plan on coming back post covid.

We are now in September, Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month. And I have not been able to reverse an "an overwhelming smell of smoke" charge to my credit card.
July 22 is my thyroid cancer free anniversary. Due to the pandemic celebratory ideas were limited. I decided on a staycation. I just wanted to escape and be poolside. What I thought was a successful staycation regardless of the small hiccups we encountered and ignored. Has now been a real lingering headache.
I learned about the $200 charge through my credit card on August 4, 2020. The hotel did not call me to inform me of the extra charges. And they also did not email me a copy of the invoice until I called the hotel to ask about the charges in August. The front desk says they can't help me. So I get transferred to the general manager Deone. He was admitted about the smoke smell. He even said he had to hire a company to extract the smell and that he was just passing along the charges. I asked to see the invoice. He said he would email it to me. I am still waiting on that email.
On August 8, 2020 I reach out to customer service at Choice Hotels. They were unable to help me. Their response team awarded me 8,000 points does not come close to the $200 charge. And to stay at the Cove hotel its 25,000 points a night. And I PAID APPROXIMATELY $140 a night.
Also my boyfriend surprised me with roses and placed them over TOWELS. It goes to show how mindful and cautious we are. We did not smoke in the room. I'm attaching a picture from my Snapchat so you guys can see the date along with the roses and towels.
Be careful when staying at the Cove.

Dear Karkarkarlita, I was adamant, and would like to again confirm... I personally go to any room that housekeeping reports as being smoked in to confirm as we certainly take no chances to falsely accuse anyone of such a disrespectful act. Only when there is no way we can rent the room the following night do I assess the fee. Due to loss of revenue and extra labor the fee is being increased to $250. Let it be known we are very smoker UN-friendly... because we have to be, because we want our future guests to appreciate having a room that is not damaged by smoke. Smoking in the room of a smoke free hotel is defacing property and should be considered vandalism. Regards, Deone

I was impressed with The Cove Hotel, this hotel sits on a main throughfare convenient to the grocery store, CVS, Walgreens and some restaurants within walking distance. The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. My son needed a quick space to have a virtual meeting and the General Manager showed me a space for him to be able to have his meeting in a quite area. I appreciated that very much, I give the Cove Hotel a 10/10 and I will visit again staying at this hotel. Overall excellent experience!

We stayed at the Cove Hotel for a few days prior to leaving on a cruise. It was like a Caribbean resort, starting with champagne at check-in! Nice clean and updated rooms. A pretty pool and a great fire pit The staff was wonderful, super friendly and helpful. The only detriment was the hotel wasn’t really near anything so you had to Uber every where. So if you are looking for a place where you can walk places then you will want to stay elsewhere otherwise I would highly recommend The Cove Hotel!!

Dear Volleyballsue11, Thank you for your choice in The Cove Hotel for your recent visit to Long Beach, we appreciate you as our guest. Thank you for the kind words regarding the property. Surrounding area is superb for convenience shops, restaurants, coffee shops and grocery... but agreed, for sit down restaurant options we have Bueno's Italian 2.5blocks west, a brewery with the best pizza three blocks west, and The Pan 1mile north which is an adorable family style restaurant with all day brunch... it is truly a treat! Please confirm you will not consider any other options if your team returns to play in the next tournament! Best wishes, Deone
