This was our second stay at Elie’s and we have booked again for next year. It really is the best of all worlds with hotel service (housekeeping, amenities, plentiful breakfast, laundry service) but with the option to self cater should you want to with all the units having a small kitchen stocked with basics such as oil, salt & pepper, teas and coffee. The units (studios, apartments and maisonettes) are spacious and comfortable, and well maintained, each having an outside seating area. All set in olive groves behind their fabulous restaurant. It is incredibly peaceful and just across from the beach. A lovely 10 minute stroll into Kardamyli. We would (and do) recommend Elie’s as the very best place to stay and we will return again and again!

Our cottage apartment in the Olive Grove at Elies was perfect. Scandi in feel, immaculately clean and spacious. Private because of the lovely olive trees screening the property. The best of all worlds, a kitchen with everything we needed - yoghurt, fruit, butter, milk, oranges for juice, with fresh bread and eggs every day for a DIY breakfast (or lunch!). Then housekeeping refreshing toiletries and making everything perfect each day. Restaurant one of the best in the area. Stavros & his Staff are excellent hosts. The beach is a lovely pebbly stretch with an incredible backdrop of mountains. 10 minute stroll into town. We will be returning next year.

I haven’t swum before breakfast for years, but the water is so silky smooth and clear it is irresistible, Floating in the bay in the sunshine looking at the mountains was just the best start to the day,. We have just had a lovely week at Elies, our first visit. The stone houses are set apart in the olive grove, so it is very quiet and relaxing. The rooms are simply but stylishly furnished, with lovely terraces, and cleaned on a daily basis. And the food is really good, both the breakfast buffet and

We have been staying at Elies for the past 15 summers or so. We love the simple and elegant furbishing of the apartments and how they blend with the surrounding olive groves. Elies is our refuge to relax, enjoy the best Greek cuisine and the kind and discreet hospitality of the owners of this wonderful hotel that makes you feel like returning home. The beach is always lovely: clear blue green waters, with currents of crisp freshwater from the Taygetos mountain streams; when in luck, one might even come across sea turtles going about their day.

I would love to give Elies 5 stars because it is almost 5 stars, but what it lacks is that intangible 'hospitality'.
The setting between the olive trees on the beach is wonderful. I could have spent all day on the beach and in the crystal clear sea with the temperatures reaching 38 degrees!
The rooms are well appointed, very spacious and spotlessly clean.
The restaurant is charming and the food is good, not special, but good and the portions are large (to put it mildly).
The prices for the rooms and the food are very reasonable.
The only problem is that none of the staff (with the exception of the waiter who looked after the guests on the beach and the lady who cleaned my room) seemed to be the slightest bit interested in the guests. Elies is efficiently run, that's for sure, but there was little heart. The welcome and farewell were all but non-existent and that's a pity as first and last impressions are really important. If they do something about this they will certainly earn 5 stars.
All in all I loved my 5 days in Kardamyli!

This is an amazing place- pure paradise. Everything is of a high quality, such as Cocomat beds and delicious fresh breakfast goods. Stavros and Fani work hard behind the scenes to ensure that everyone has a wonderfully relaxing time. We can’t recommend Elies highly enough and will definitely return.

The rooms are really clean and spacious. They are cleaned on daily basis. The rooms are in a very beautiful, peaceful environment, perfect for families and children. The garden is very well taken care of. We've been staying at the same hotel every summer for the last 10 years, exactly because we love the atmosphere, the rooms are clean and nice and its one step away from the beach and 15min walking distamce from the village. The breakfast is also really nice.

Delightful stone villas tucked back from the beach and a short walk from Kardamyli town … a perfect haven. First class restaurant with many local restaurants a short walk or drive away. This was the first of what I hope will be many visits. The sort of find you almost want to keep secret but at the same time tell everyone about!

The sea look looks as pristine as it is actually polluted. It is in fact one of the most polluted parts of the Mediterranean. The entire town’s sewage is discharged nearby. This small bed and breakfast, frequented mostly by Greek people, follows suit. According to the peasant woman who owns it, only customers with low or no expectations are accepted.

Hi, its not close. You have two options. Both are mountainous. (a) you travel via Sparta and you climb up Taygetos mountain (scenic route) you reach Kalamata and then after 40minutes circa you reach Kardamyli. (b) you take the southern route via Gytheion - Areopolis where you turn north towards Kardamili. Start early, its a long drive, both are scenic.
