Rather than a relaxing stay, the one night at Paladin was fought with stress. The hotel is hidebound with petty rules. There are a number of confusing vouchers issued at reception. There is a two-tier system of breakfast where booking.com customers are not allowed access to the buffet. There are signs around the hotel saying 'please observe silence' and yet the interminable racket from the traffic is enough to raise the dead. The staff are too preoccupied with processes and procedures and not so much with being friendly. I cannot recommend this one.

Response from PALADINHOTEL, Manager at Paladin Hotel
Responded Jan 24, 2018
Dear Mr. Malcolm, Thank you for your feedback. First, I would like to extend our apologies for the inconveniences you have had during your recent stay with us. It is unfortunate that despite our effort to soundproof the rooms, you still have experienced noise in your room, we will look into this. With regard to the breakfast, we are in transition from set to buffet and hopefully this is will be fixed as soon as possible. On the processes and procedures at the Front Desk, this has been discussed already with our staff and have taken some measures on giving them adequate training to avoid recurrence of this in the future. Once again, we are sorry for the inconveniences we have caused you and we hope to offer you better services in future. Sincerely, SHIRLEY B. VALENCIA

My family stayed here just last January when we attended a wedding of my husband's close friend. At first we were hesitant because it's near the city and it might be noisy but it wasn't.

The place is pretty nice and clean. The deluxe bed was comfortable and the room was spacious enough for the three of us plus one kid. The place is very convenient since it is located in the city. Burnham park is just walking-distance away so my son enjoyed running on the park. I would definitely stay here again since it's a good value for your money especially if you are on a tight budget.

Stayed for 3 nights. Clean hotel and helpful porters and always smiling receptionists. Hotel has quite a high level floors so not recommended for the weak kneed...and also no car parking. Make sure you review the furniture list so you wont be charged with theft of hotel properties. .

Worst hotel experience ever since first night stay.
No one gave us a hand to help us with our baggage upon arriving. I have a toddler with me with many baggage, given that they do not have an elevator or escalator at least.
Every single time we request for a room make up, the arrangement of the beddings remain the same when we got back. They only pick up the trash in the bin and replenish the toiletries and that's it.
Also, we got overcharged. Worst of all is that 2 weeks has already passed as of this posting and we still haven't received the refund yet. They are so full of excuses.
Will never return nor recommend this hotel to anyone. The room appearance and service quality doesn't deserve the rates being charged to guests.

Stayed here for 3 nights in November 2022 and was really disappointed with all aspects. 1st room (no 24) I had the wife signal was so weak I couldn’t get a service, the 2nd room had no safe (I think 103), I was then upgraded and the safe in that room didn’t work. The 4th room was a little better, but the power sockets on the wall were fragile to say the least and I couldn’t charge my devices properly on the dressing table, I had to use the power socket in the bathroom. There was no lift and the breakfast was ok only (most foods not hot enough) and coffee was an acquired taste. The worse part was when I checked out, I ensured that the card for the lighting in the room was attached to the room key (I’m 100% certain and remembered putting it in the holder), but when a member of staff went to check the room (as should be done) the staff member came back and said the card was not in the holder, at this time I got a annoyed and guaranteed the reception staff that I had included it. I’m not sure is this an Hotel tactic to try and charge customers for a missing card!! They could see I was getting annoyed and they went back to check the room and this is when the card appeared. I was not happy at all. I would try and avoid this hotel at all costs. I’m sure there are many options in Baguio. If I could give no stars I would. But I had to give one.

The room we were given (room 111) has steps down from the bathroom to the room, this could be quite dangerous if you slipped after coming out of the bathroom. There was a musty smell to the room. The hotel is quite old and rooms worn.
The light switches were really filthy with a thick black grease on the switch which could easily be cleaned but no one had bothered. There is one small high window with bars overlooking a corrugated iron roof that made the room feel more like a prison cell than a hotel room.

The breakfast has to be chosen a day in advance and has not much choice and small a portion. For example, you can either have fruit juice or coffee but not both.

I complained to reception about the room as it was a dirty, smelly, depressing place to stay. I was shown around other rooms of similar size and told it would be about 2500 peso extra per night to change the room which is ridiculous because the rooms were of similar size but nearly double the price.
I then complained again and said I would write a bad review if they didn't do something about it, they then came back about 20 minutes later and said I could change room for free. However, by this time I had had enough of them and checked out a day early with no refund given for the missed night.

Checked in on this hotel for a fast weekend trip. Overall, we had a good experience. The Deluxe room was decent. We stayed in Room 115 which was at the end of the hallway. The hotel's location is also very close to the town proper, particularly the city market and Burnham Park. The hotel personnel are very nice and kind enough to greet you as they see you pass by.

Horrible hotel, had exhaust fumes in our room that made us sick and had to switch rooms.
No hot water, lucky if it's luke warm. They charge extra for an additional towel or pillow.
Only one used roll of toilet paper provided per day (for 3 people).
We found an additional hotel down the street with a bath tub, hot water, an elevator, and for half the cost.
Don't stay here ever... Not worth it.

Can I just show you pictures of the room where we stayed at ? … they said a picture paints a thousand words … so I might just as well post my pictures here for you to decide … my only purpose for posting the pictures is to make it known to the owners that you guys could do a lot better than just one of the hotels in the city of Baguio … the hotel itself …. the Staff … the porter was the only guy I colud really give commendation for being helpful to my relatives who are senior citizens, who got issues related to climbing the steep stairs … other than that, the front desk people are the least helpful in resolving issues regarding the rooms reserved prior to arrival … the rooms I requested were booked but then at the last moment they changed the rooms assigned … I was very specific about the room requirement because of the nature of my traveling companions … and to save from from further aggravation, I am just going ahead to post the pictures and make you guys decide if you want to stay in this hotel …

Re: Wi-Fi …. you need to go to the hallway near the front desk to access wi-fi connection … enough said …

The Premium Rooms are way toooooo crampy … no adequate ventilation … so do not expect that the other rooms are going be any roomier … no windows from the rooms where we were relocated … IT'S LIKE STAYING IN A JAIL except no bars and prison guards !!!!

And the bathrooms - FORGET ABOUT IT … it's better to go to a truck station and attend to your bodily needs … way too CRAMPY … and if you are claustrophobic … please take a nice deep breathe before you go in and stay calm as much as you can ...

Hi. We only paid for the standard room for about Php 1500 per night (around 30 dollars). It was only good for 2. I think they have bigger rooms, so you can get in touch with the hotel directly to verify that.
