A few caveats. Do not make this your only hotel in French Polynesia. It was at the end of our 11 day trip, we had a rental car, and we are low impact travelers. So the hotel was excellent for us. The a/c was the best we had on the islands. Also the view from the balcony (with table and 2 chairs) of the harbor in the distance was gorgeous. Breakfast is extra cost by prior reservation and we loved watching the students learn the ropes with occasional errors. Rooms are spartan with firm twin beds, very small tv, mini-frig, and an old school safe with a skeleton-type key.
It is hard to find this hotel on any map. Thus I am posting pictures of the signs at the traffic circle after you leave the airport and pass the Intercontinental Hotel, taking the 3rd exit toward the "Lycee Hotelier de Punaauia" and going up a long steep hill, bearing left at the top inside the gate. The gate is closed for security early in the evening but they give you the code for late access.
We only paid about US$75 per night so it is a real bargain. Breakfast was an extra $15 per person but it was more food than either of us could eat. Internet is extra so we did not use it. There is a teapot in the room along with powdered coffee and tea.
For eating, there is a great grocery, Carrefour, about a 5 minute drive down the hill and next to McDonald's. Also nearby is the waterfront dining area, where our favorite is the Pink Coconut for outdoor seating and views of the harbor boats.
One final remark: Air Tahiti Nui has very late (midnight) flights so the hotel graciously allowed us to stay until 10 pm on a 1/2 day rate. That made our departure so much more enjoyable rather than waiting in the hot airport (no a/c) for hours and hours!
Not a place to recommend the way we experienced it - but maybe it is different when you stay there in a different season?

The few things they could improve are the shower grouting, the facade paint which is pealing and the access electric gate which is not easy to open.
My parents’ previous booked hotel messed up and Tiki stepped in at last minute,
late at night.
We had already booked for us to stay once me and my sister arrived - we were in the bungalows with a view over the sea.
Rooms were simple but nice and clean. Shampoo and shower gel was provided - classical Tahitian ‘tiare monoi’, which was great.
It’s a training hotel and the staff are really really lovely and vibrant. I really enjoyed my welcome to french polynesia at Tiki. I would highly recommend!
Cons: they don't organise transfer from airport to the hotel (even for a charge). The hotel is not known to many taxi drivers, which poses a challenge if your flight lands at an odd hour.
