The room was spacious and the breakfast was descent with eggs, fruit, juice, yogurt, granola, coffee, water and teas. The staff were efficient but quiet. The bed was comfortable, the pool was small but refreshing and it is close to some nice restaurants and nice walks to the beaches and up the hillside. The Interpretive center was also fairly close by and worth the visit.

Got a room on the 2nd floor. The bridge linking to the rooms on 2nd floor may be a bit slippery when it rains. Quite an effort carrying suitcase up the stairs and across the bridge. Was a bit worried that the bridge may not be strong enough to hold the additional weight. Unfortunately, that's the only way to get to the room. Luckily, it was ok. Breakfast here was simple and service average. There seemed to be mosquitoes around so may need insect repellent. In terms of location, it is within walking distance to the jetty where there are many restaurants and shops around.

Our room (#22) was large and clean. There was a TV in the room, bathtub (sans plug), 2 couches, and a fridge. It is well-located in relation to downtown.

This, however, has been our most disappointing accommodation in Ecuador. This room is located close to the street and across from the local stage / volleyball court - it is extremely noisy. It's safe to say that "restful" is not a word I'd use to describe this place - especially if you're doing early morning excursions.

Serious safety issues as a single female traveler, as well as major customer service problems. I downright told the owner/manager to NOT enter my room at all during my stay and spoke with him in spanish and he behaved as if he had not heard my request and fake smiled and said okay lady. I said well if you or anyone else goes in there I have a doorstop alam so got it?! I came back from an excursion and yeah they had been all up in my room, left cleaning supplies behind, and turned the air conditioning off. They also ran out of clean water for all of my fellow vacationers yet convenietly had water to purchase at the front desk. Screw that. There is a precarious glass sky-walk to the second level good luck with that. Thirdly (fourthly?). They are towel-natzi s do not dare to take one towel out of the place or you will be charged; I would advise you to just take the towel wherever and do whatever with it that you want/ 15 bugs and either throw it in the pool when you're done or take it with you. Breakfast is very shi ty and do not leave the place with a towel; I went down to the pool and the Kra zy owner yelled at me and I said Look I am just here at your freaking pool with the g da mn towel relax. He also huffed around when asked to turn on the hot tub which was never hot and had to beg him to even turn on the jets. Come On! Gross Pathetic cheap owner . My tour company/ exoticca has been informed of this dump; hopefully they will drop the place from their itinerary going forward. The owner had his own family all up in there, in the pool, his expensive watch on the entire time. LOL...exoticca, you can do better.

My husband and I stayed at the Blue Marlin in San Cristobal for four nights. We liked the friendly family atmosphere, the big breakfast (fruit, yogurt, juice, granola, eggs, cheese, bread - ham if you wanted it but we're veggies), the cool little pool and the shaded conversation areas. Our room was simple, not at all fancy, but clean and serviceable, including air conditioning (needed!) and refrigerator. When we needed to extend our stay, we were accommodated easily. The staff do not speak much English, but work hard to understand you and have a lovely attitude. There were few North Americans there when we went - primarily Spanish-speaking or European. Lots of families with kids.

Rooms good size with king size beds and nice firm mattresses but thin walls did not offer good sound insulation for local chickens and dogs early in the morning. Breakfasts very basic - and after small selection basin of fruit and the granola cereal ran out after 2 days. Some exterior painting underway and small pool and hot tub cleaned up now.
Good position less than one mile from airport and about 200 metres from sea front with plenty of reasonably priced bars and cafés in-between.

The Blue Marlin is a decent centrally located hotel in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. The hotel lacks a little character and feels a bit like a motel but on the plus side it has huge, clean and well maintained rooms, a swimming pool and helpful friendly staff. Breakfast was included, but it was quite a basic offering

The rooms were dated and spartan. The office was often unstaffed, locked and lights out. Travelers in our group came back to a room that had been serviced but absolutely no towels in sight! It is very conveniently located a couple blocks from the downtown and oceanfront. The pool and hot tub were the same temperature......cool.

Stayed here for 6 nights and it was basically just an ok place. Breakfasts were minimal and repetitive. The room was okay except very noisy at night from the events right across the road which were at least 4/6 nights and could carry on until 2am. Made for a very difficult sleep. Also our room was lit up by a streetlight and the curtains were not adequate to keep out the light. I asked to change rooms and was told “not possible “ even though the hotel did not appear full.
Front desk clerk very unhelpful esp when asked for toilet paper- I was told maybe tomorrow. I had to be very insistent that I needed it before tomorrow. She did show up with a roll a couple of hours later. Shower took forever to heat up.
Pool was good. Hot tub was not hot and the jets didn’t work. I would not recommend or stay here again.

Our first vacation since March last year. Went to Galapagos and stayed at blue Marlin hotel. Five minutes walk to the beach and businesses. Best of all sit down breakfast. Coffee juice yogurt bread ham fruit granola. Good for a long walk later. Taste delicious too!!!. Definitely a five star. Courteous staff and owner. Recommend without reservations. Thank you.
