I've stayed at Yam so many times that for me, reviewing this uniquely warm and welcoming hotel is like reviewing my own home. I have been coming to this spot near Tel Aviv's north port since it opened, and having stayed at several of the (bland) brand name beach side tower blocks and a few of the swank boutiques along Rothschild, I have opted for Yam for its personal and personable service, its convivial spirit and its modest rates. The rooms, while small, are spotless and well-maintained, many with a balcony looking out onto the sea.

I have just spent another week at the wonderful Yam hotel, our fourth visit in 18 months. What a fantastic find!
The hotel is in North Tel Aviv, in a secluded, quiet, yet central road, two minutes from the end of Dizengoff, close to amazing cafes and restaurants.
The hotel itself, is bright, airy, minimalistic and contemporary in its design.
The Israeli breakfast is generous and absolutely wonderful, they also have a proper Espresso machine and make the best Cappuccinos, whether soya, almond or regular, as strong and as many as you want.
The hotel also offers delicious Happy Hour food and wine daily free of charge. In the summer they give their guests beach bags, including a towel, drink and a bag of bisli, so cute. A bit like mum sending you off to the beach.
The manager and staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly, even if it meant loading 500 catalogues and two paintings into a taxi in the pouring rain last week. They insisted!
As soon as you arrive at the hotel, you will find a warm and friendly welcome. I know I sound like I’ve been paid to advertise the hotel, I haven’t. I simply think it’s a great option for people looking to feel at home when away from home. Would definitely recommend a visit.

I stayed for almost four months at the hotel. The room was super neat and had a panoramic and industrial view of the new port and the endless Mediterranean Sea! The room was comfortable enough and the staff was very polite, helpful and available at any time. The location was very convenient since it was only 15’ walk away from the Dizengoff sq and just 5’ walk from the Hayarkon Park and the main bus station. Also the staff was very careful with the COVID-19 guidelines, wearing masks and disinfecting the common areas of the lobby.

First the positive - good location if you're a tourist who wants to have access to the port, beach and streets with lots of shops and restaurants. They had yummy food for coktail hour (free) and a full breakfast (which I didn't have but looked decent and which may or may not be free based on how you book). Staff was very friendly and helpful when I checked in to answer questions about ATMs the city etc.
Now the not so good
If you're used to traveling in very tight hotel rooms then this may not be an issue for you, but only having a couple of feet on each side of the bed was a challenge considering I was here for 5 days. (Picture showing door and bathroom captured from the far wall near the bed.)
I'm not sure what this cabinet thing in the wall is, but it's not a closet. After 5 days I still do not know how one uses it. It's about 7 inches wide so can't fit much on a tiny shelf but also has no hangers so can't hang anything. I had to drape my business clothes over chairs and lamps to get them unwrinkled.
The AC can't be used if it's not summer, so when the room was hot I was told to open the windows. Ok, but the windows are also blocked by fixed metal shades. I had to painfully squeeze my fingers through to open the window and inch. (Then of course the noise of the street floats through.) On the one evening the room felt cold, I attempted to turn the heat on but it wasn't working. I'm sure the staff could have helped but it was late at night and I was tired so I just went to sleep.
Beds are not the most uncomfortable I've slept in, but let's just say I've got some pep in my step bc I'll be staying at a different hotel tonight.
If you're looking for what feels like a budget hotel but is still clean friendly and good location Yam will work for you. If you want comfort and to feel like you're not in a jail cell, perhaps another establishment would suit you better

Hi Rachel D; Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the hotel's superb location near all that Tel Aviv has to offer. Our complimentary ‘happy hour’ is very popular. Great that you had the opportunity to enjoy it. We appreciate you complimenting our helpful staff who go above and beyond to ensure guests have a memorable experience at our hotel. The hotel's air conditioning is a central system. During the winter when the outside temperature drops to 10 - 13 degrees, we must adjust the system to the heating mode. This usually occurs in the evening and night, not during the day. Unfortunately, the system does not allow some of the rooms to be on the AC mode and some on the heating mode. For guests who feel too warm, we recommend to turn off the air conditioning and open the window. We wish you would have contacted our staff ( 24 hours available) and they would have quickly opened your window and the heat when it was needed. Taking nothing away from your feelings, we do hope to welcome you back to one of our Atlas hotels! Best Regards, Estelle Hock – Guest Relations Atlas Hotels Nathalie Bollag – General Manager, Yam Hotel

My partner and I stayed for four wonderful relaxing days in July 2019. Wonderful staff, hip vibe, bright sea breeze decor. Nice breakfast buffet spread was a great way to launch the day and evening happy hour offerings were a great way to unwind. Towels + chilled bottled water for the beach, plus gratis bus passes are all part of the super service at this gem boutique hotel inTel Aviv. Highly recommended.

From the minute I arrived the staff were welcoming friendly and helpful. Even though it was 05.30, they stored the luggage, provided coffee and set about arranging an earlier check in. They provided maps and directions, organised tours and showed interest in my experiences as a first time visitor to Israel. The room was well appointed with nice attention to detail - from the toiletries to the fridge, safe and coffee maker. The bed was comfortable and the noise levels quiet, enabling a good quality sleep. The extra care such as the happy hour, the beach packs and the bottle of water for going on trips all added to the pleasure of staying in this well-located and clean hotel.

I highly recommend the Yam Hotel! When you first arrive, you are greeted by friendly staff who are happy to help. The lobby/dining area is clean, comfortable, and designed with the beach theme in mind. This theme is carried throughout the hotel. The whole hotel feels new and well maintained. The rooms are lovely, no carpet floors, closet storage, a safe, mini fridge, floor length mirror, coffee machine, TV, spacious bathroom, rainfall shower, and complete with cute touches such as beach balls, a yoga mat, and a surfboard on the wall that lights up. One day I left the “Do Not Disturb” sign on my room, and the staff kindly left fresh towels, extra toilet paper, and amenities such as soap hanging on my door handle. The free Happy Hour (6 days/week) is a huge bonus. I don’t have a single complaint about the Yam Hotel. I would stay here again without hesitation. Thank you for the lovely stay!!

The location is great right across from the beach and about a 20 Minute walk from city center. They also have lime and bird scooters for rent right next to the hotel. They have happy hour from 5 to 7 which is really thoughtful and breakfast there is buffet style and amazing. It is absolutely delicious fresh bread and cheese daily plus freshly squeezed juices and a very friendly staff to assist. Rachel at the front desk checked me in And she is one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met inside and out. She was so welcoming and helpful. She always made sure to ask me how I was and about my day. She made me feel like an old friend and not just another guest. Overall one of the best hotels I’ve been to. Will definitely be returning for my next trip to Israel. P.s. The balcony ocean view is 100% worth the upgrade

This was my third stay at the Yam Hotel. I had booked this trip in Feb 20 and had to postpone and cancel until Israel opened its borders again. I kept in touch with Nathalie, the magic hotel manager, throughout the pandemic and was received like family when I finally arrived in Nov 21. The other big plus - besides the wonderful staff, delicious breakfast, happy hour, cleanliness, bicycles - is the location at the North end of Tel Aviv beach, steps away from the beach, the Port, Dizengoff Street and HaYarkon Park. I'll be back soon.

This is one of the best hotels I ever stayed at. It's the perfect sweet spot of size and there is nothing I can fault. The staff are amazing, especially Rachel at the reception and Nathalie the GM. They went out of their way to assist me with a regulatory issue I had when checking in, and were always welcoming and professional throughout my stay. The hotel offers a wonderful breakfast with the quality and variety that would rival any deluxe 5 star hotel, and at a fraction of the cost (20 USD). The location is perfect, steps from the Tel Aviv's many beaches and its legendary Old Port area, which is a must on any visitor's list. The lobby and rooms are designed with a very cool nautical look and the atmosphere is always welcoming and relaxed. I hope to stay here again soon.
