Sea Dreams Hotel is a family-run boutique hotel on the quaint island of Caye Caulker. We are located at the north end of the village- next to the The Split/Lazy Lizard Bar & Grill- which affords a three-sided view of the Caribbean Sea. Our dock, located on the leeward edge of The Split, is the entry into a unique slice of paradise: perfectly clear and calm, chest-deep, turquoise water with a white sandy bottom. Every evening, guests watch the sun melt into these waters and cast pastel shades across the skies. When guests are not diving, snorkeling, fishing, or touring Mayan ruins, they relax at the hotel with a tropical drink at our rooftop bar, a book in a hammock, or a canoe/paddle board ride to feed the local Tarpon. Accommodations range from intimate courtyard rooms to one-, and two-bedroom apartments, cabana, and home. Amenities include free bicycles, canoe, paddle boards, hot breakfast, WIFI, AC, TV, and bottled water.

Caye Caulker seems to be an island of contrasts. The bluest water for miles in every direction, healthy coral reefs nearby, and a diversity of bird life. It boasts an abundance of natural beauty. Sea Dreams is located in an ideal spot on the north of the island with a lovely little dock and clear blue water at it’s doorstep. I was a bit surprised to see so much trash on the grounds around the hotel though. Much of it possibly blown over from the Lazy Lizard? Part of our trip was spent picking up pieces of plastic before it was blown out to sea. Sea Dreams itself was very clean, but I wonder if they would consider cleaning the bits of trash around the dock and entrance? The hotel is so cute and the two upper decks with views to die for were spectacular. I agree with one of the previous reviews that mentioned the nonexistent water pressure and hard mattresses . In addition, the hot water was spotty. All said, we would stay here again in a bigger room with a view; I think we had the smallest room in the hotel. Also, if you are looking for peace and quiet this may not be your place on the weekends, as the Lazy Lizard blasts its music. Weekdays were better and even on the weekends you could escape and go elsewhere. We really enjoyed The Iguana Reef Inn for its tranquil beach and sea horses. The staff at Sea Dreams were helpful and kind. They made our visit comfortable and memorable!

Both the hotel itself, and the staff, were amazing. Leading up to the trip, the staff helped me arrange many of my trip logistics and answered any questions I could throw their way. I was super impressed before we even arrived.

Upon check-in at the hotel, we learned that the power had temporarily just gone out across the whole island and water might be out for even longer. Without hesitation, the hotel staff immediately began bringing lanterns and bottled water to each room, and hooked up their old well-water supply. So, while the other hotels on the island went without water for a few days, we had no problems. Their extra efforts made a huge difference.

The hotel location was wonderful. We enjoyed being in a quiet area of the island (other than New Year's Eve), but still able to walk everywhere. The room was fairly simple, but clean, comfortable and met all of our needs. The breakfasts were really good, and the free use of bikes and stand up paddleboards was a big perk. Perhaps my favorite part of the hotel was the cozy upstairs bar. My wife and I had a great time relaxing there each night, chatting with the friendly bartender, playing cards and recounting the adventures of the day.

I would, without any hesitation, recommend staying at Sea Dreams Hotel. It was a fantastic experience all around.

I have reviewed Sea Dreams a couple other times so I'll try not to repeat myself too much! When it comes time for us to plan a trip back to Caye Caulker, I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

The staff make us feel like family throughout our stay. Kelly & Stephanie are perfect hosts, always making sure we have what we need and making great recommendations. We always look forward to Happy Hour as a chance to unwind and reflect on the day with our friendly bartender...sometimes we talk so much that we miss the sunset and sometimes we remember and run down to the dock or the beach to take in another breathtaking Caye Caulker sunset. On this trip, we had the two one-bedroom apartments, both which were spacious enough for 3 people. My husband, son and I stayed in the apartment that faces the street and enjoyed the space! To note, the locked gate on the Sea Dreams dock is nice so you have some space to yourself to enjoy the beautiful views of the crystal clear water.

I describe Sea Dreams to my friends as "Imagine walking out your door and being 30 steps to sunrise to your right and 30 steps to sunset to your left...it's perfect!"

The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. They take care of your arrival by sending a driver to pick you up from the airport. The charge was $5 USD. I stayed in a courtyard room. It had a/c and a fan. There was a fridge that had sodas for 0.75 USD which is cheaper than the store. The bathroom sink is tiny so very difficult not to make water spills. The shower had good pressure but took a while to heat up. The toilet is paperless so dirty paper is placed in a bin. Breakfast varied each day and freshly prepared. I noticed a delay in service when the hotel was at full capacity. If you have any dietry requirements please let reception know when you check in. The private dock is a great place to watch the sunset and snorkel. The Split is a 2 minute walk away. The free bicycles were a great way of exploring the area. Mosquitos were a problem at sunset and there were a few in my room at night. Bring lots of deet repellant if you visit.

Located on a side street adjacent to the Split, the view from the Orchid Cabana was so lovely! The staff, especially Stephanie, was so helpful. The room was island rustic, with tropical wood throughout, comfy bed, nice little kitchenette, very cozy and clean.
Stephanie arranged for a $5 golf cart taxi ride to and from and even helped us book a commuter flight to Caye Caulker from Belize City. Daily maid service, or not, your choice. Though it was a little over our $150 a night budget for a small boutique hotel, we went for it to avoid being on the main street, and for the extras they add in. We were so glad we did! Extras include free breakfast, cooked each day on the rooftop where you have a view of the ocean on both sides of the island. Delicious and different meals each day. They also have a happy hour on the rooftop, complete with appetizers. Free bikes were available for our use anytime to explore the town, as were kayaks and beach towels. The fridge was stocked with Belizean Beer and sodas (for a nominal fee). We thought we would cook in a bit, but between free breakfasts and great nearby restaurants, we didn't. It was nice to have a place to keep and heat leftovers from our restaurant meals though. Right around the corner was a laundry service, and also the best massage place ever. Not to mention beach side lobster bbq's and snorkeling tour guides galore. We truly enjoyed our stay and wish we would have stayed longer! Caye Caulker was SO much nicer and relaxing than Ambergris Caye, which was a crowded, noisy tourist trap. If we do Belize again, we'll skip that noise and just go to Caye Caulker and San Ignacio.
Thank you everyone at the Sea Dreams for a memorable, lovely stay!

We stayed for four nights in the Orchid Cabana and absolutely loved it. I'd describe the style as rustic elegance, which was just perfect for us. The room and deck out front are absolutely beautiful. Super comfy bed, everything nice and clean. Beach towels + fluffy white bath towels. We really enjoyed the A/C, and had plenty of hot water. There's a small full kitchen with beers and sodas stocked in the fridge and a water dispenser on the counter. We used the free bikes and boats every day - they were such a wonderful perk. Absolutely loved the deck with two hammocks and two chairs. Even when it rained there was plenty of space to relax and enjoy. The private dock was lovely as well, and we loved the location. Close to everything. The staff could not have been more kind and helpful. Thank you Stephanie! Thank you Iris!

We visited in September 2021. This was the off season and during covid times still, so it was pretty empty while we were there and there was a 9pm curfew for the whole island. I've seen complaints that during high season and non-covid times this location can be pretty loud. That was not our experience - it was nothing but supremely chill while we visited.

Pro tip: book directly on the Sea Dreams website for special deals and the chance to support local high school students!

My husband and I stayed at Sea Dreams for our honeymoon, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect trip. The location is perfect, and we made use of the dock every day for swimming and watching the sunsets - the best view ever! All of the staff that we met were just so nice and helpful, and the breakfast every morning was fantastic. I couldn’t say enough good things about Sea Dreams, and I don’t think I would want to stay anywhere else!

I can’t thank the entire staff for all their hospitality and making us feel at home. Our room was clean and comfy and quiet.
Hotel is in the best location of the island in my opinion. It’s right next to the split which makes it for easy access to crystal clear water for swimming. Hotel offers free bikes to roam around the island and free daily breakfast was also amazing. We can’t wait to return.

We just spent 4 nights at Sea Dreams. The hotel has a great location near The Split. The private deck is a huge + , especially at sunset. The breakfast included every morning is also a great perk especially as it's a different breakfast every morning.
We stayed in one of the Courtyard Room and the room was ok but I think a bit overpriced.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Sea Dreams! From the sunset dock to the happy hour bar to the delicious breakfasts we loved everything about this small, locally owned hotel. Our room was perfect with our own deck complete with two hammocks overlooking The Split's action but quiet for relaxing. We loved the free bikes and used them to explore the entire island. The happy hour drinks were delicious (Coconut Mojito!) and the sunset dock made for a great place to meet other guests, talk about our day and watch the sunset - a big event on Caye Caulker. We liked how the hotel was on the northern end of the island as it was a bit quieter (except for the Lazy Lizard) but close enough to bike into the action. We loved everything about this hotel and will most certainly be back!

How does one get from the airport in Belize City to Sea Dreams Hotel?
Answer from Ann V

You take a taxi from the airport to the docks, a water taxi/ferry to the island, and then you can either walk or talk a golf cart taxi to the hotel. You can either hail these as you go or have the hotel book a driver for you. The water taxi schedule is posted online if you check either ocean ferry or San Pedro Express
