This was our third visit in the last four years and every year it gets better and better!!! This time we did white water rafting 4 times with Gisselle (our second year with her) and it was spectacular (HIGHLY recommend the Upper Taylor with the Extender). She is truly gifted and makes the trip exciting, fun and memorable beyond words!! Mike, her husband, is also an outstanding guide and trip leader and makes sure everyone knows their roles and responsibilities while on the river. We float fished with Skylar and he is a Master River Guide and fishermen (fly or spin fishing). He knows the river like no one else I've ever seen and is supper patient with kids (this was our third year with him). Trust his recommendations and you will be well rewarded!! My oldest caught his first northern pike and my youngest caught his first trout on a fly rod (he couldn't stop smiling). Carmen excelled as his fly-fishing instructor and easily taught him the basics. As he improved, she deftly introduced more advanced skills and techniques for him to try. Dirk (one of the owners) was phenomenal getting all this coordinated and Hadley took care of so many things like photos and splash gear, we felt like VIPs!! Michelle and the rest of the front office staff excelled at seamlessly taking care of our every need and we wanted for nothing (she even mailed us some things we forgot at checkout). Ryan and the chefs at the Smokehouse have done a great job upgrading the menu and the food was excellent!! We stayed in Cabin 57 on the river and it was very comfortable, equipped with all the cooking utensils we needed and includes a fire pit right by the river. I will never forget the smiles on my kids' faces and the laughter in the air as they beat me in tetherball and horseshoes. This is a spectacular family vacation resort, and we will continue to come back in the years ahead. The memories we've made here will last a lifetime and I highly recommend you stay and make your own. Trust me, you'll be glad you did!!

Stayed three nights in the George Bailey Loft at the end of the property next to the large George Bailey house. The Loft is a two bedroom, full kitchen, washer and dryer and small living room with teenie tiny television. Very clean accommodations and comfortable beds. No salt/pepper, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, etc. very basic. Bring your own stuff. They do have all the things you need for cooking but none of the basics. The internet is horrible there. I suppose because it’s at the end of the property. No log in required so that may be part of the problem. You will need to jump on the internet around 6 am or go down to the main checkin area. It’s in an unattractive area near dilapidated trailer park, kinda sketchy looking but no problems with any of the neighbors. The rooms get very hot even with the blinds closed. They really need to add two portable fans. Very quiet and peaceful location, away from the fray. We had a strange thing happen. Our vodka went missing. We believe that housekeeping came into the apartment thinking we had checked out but we added on another night. We told management and nothing to report yet. Strange.

Three Rivers Resort was our getaway for five days in on of their two story cabins the last week of June. Lots of photos and reviews online so we reserved sight unseen. The property is larger than expected and is home to not only vacation lodging but has a lot of employees and permanent residents living there as well. There are rows and rows of different kinds of cabins or RVS or trailers lined up on short gravel roads. Our cabin could sleep 5 or more but we were happy to just have it for the two of us. The cabin was very clean and in very good condition with a full kitchen, bath, living room, bedrooms, dinette, upstairs and front porch with a patio set. It reminded us of a “tiny house” and we were very comfortable. The area is quiet except for the area around the restaurant, store and fly shop, which we could not hear at all from our cabin’s location. The staff were all cheerful and helpful and there were plenty of activities for all. Each cabin seems to be different. We were late in reserving so we didn’t have a great selection to choose from. Our cabin no. 49 was good, tho. We would mention that the outdoor grill was off the patio, a bit to the back, not a great spot for grilling and there are not individual fire rings at all for sitting around. Not to worry, it did not detract us much. We would recommend replacing the indoor carpeting as it seemed to downplay the niceness of the cabin. Not a deal breaker. Then the property’s landscaping, overall, could use some work. But we had a very nice time and would certainly recommend a stay here and you should expect a happy good visit!

Three Rivers Resort in Almont, CO is in a prime location for all sorts of recreation, including hiking, biking, fishing and water sports. Just minutes from Crested Butte and Gunnison, any necessities are easily accessible. 3 Rivers offered many types of recreational activities, organized and reserved through the resort, including guided fishing and rafting and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The resort itself, however, is very limited in attractions. There is a restaurant and bar on site, as well as a sporting goods store for fishing and recreational needs. There are some family attractions, like playgrounds, horseshoe and volleyball courts and group picnic areas.

The cabin I was in was in a very busy, noisy location, right at the entrance to the resort at a busy intersection of roads. The cabin was well equipped but needed updating and a more 'vacation' quality. The grounds around the cabin were a parking lot, not very relaxing or inviting. There were other cabins closer to the river which looked nice, with nice decks and river views, but still close to lots of traffic and activity. River access was limited to a boat launch for those who did not have a cabin along the river, so be sure to rent a cabin along the water. All cabins had BBQ and fire pits. The best part of 3 Rivers is the access to the spectacular Gunnison National Forest. This is the PERFECT location for fishing enthusiasts, close to Colorado’s Gold Medal fishing in every direction! The hiking in the area was fantastic! Within minutes driving, are some of the most beautiful places on Earth.

We are happy that you chose to stay here with us. I do want to let you know that all of our guests do have access to the river here on our property. You don't have to have a cabin on the river in order to access it. I am sorry this was not made clear to you during your stay! We do hope that you will come back for a visit in the future! Have spent much time in the area over the past 40 years, fishing and skiing with friends who lived there. This trip was with another couple, golf and fishing.
The Good News - 2BR 1 Bath cabins (ours was #28) very nicely finished inside, was impressed with solid woods, extra attention to finish detail, didn't go cheap on appointments. Staff in the office all friendly and outgoing. The Bad News - WiFi poor to worse all of the time. "Sleeps 6" (three bedrooms, very nice), but only one bathroom. There is room for another upstairs, must not have wanted to spend the money. This is a problem as the hot water heater is tiny. Good for 1.5 quick showers. Hot water heaters are not expensive, major oversight. Location, they built these cabins on a dirt parking lot, cabin backs up to steep hill. This is not shown in their advertising. Also feel the advertising is misleading "private hot tub". Photos of cabins all show a picture of a hot tub leading us to believe there is a hot tub for each cabin. Not so. Truth in advertising would be "shared private hot tub" as there is one tub for a number of cabins. Not an issue now due to Covid but disappointing just the same. All in all, comfortable cabin for 2 couples, just don't plan on bathing often or relying on Wifi access.

We do hope you had a nice stay and we do appreciate you staying with us. We hope that you will come back to see us! We would like to mention that on our website, it does say that there is a shared hot tub and it does list the bed layout. For some people, the layout would work fine and for others, it may not. We do hope that our guests let us know if they have any issues while they are here with us so we can take care of any problems during their stay. We do truly want to make sure our guests have a great stay! Sincerely, Christy Miller

3 Rivers was chosen for a family reunion and it worked great for us. There were 5 families present and three of the five stayed together in the big cabin (15?). That worked perfectly for us since it offered all the room we needed for assembling the family for meals and socializing.

Several of us really like fly fishing, and this is obviously a great place for doing that. Unfortunately, we were a bit early to experience great fishing, the East and Gunnison were both high, milky, and fast. The Taylor was marginally better, and at least fishable. This was early June, so take that into consideration. The fly shop was great and a young woman working there was both friendly and knowledgeable. If I sat here and thought about it for awhile, I could probably remember her name. My apology, she’s great.

Our cabin was nice.

We stayed two nights in one of the creekside cabins (#60) intending to fish one day. Our cabin was perfect for 2 although it had a loft area - intended for children. Very steep stairs to the loft and very low overhead. There is a large porch area on each cabin, table and chairs, grill and fire pit with a grate. Tip: grocery shop in Gunnison or Crested Butte. The kitchen was well stocked. Everything was clean except the carpeting, which they should replace with hard flooring. We booked a fishing trip through the onsite guide service. Jake was our very knowledgeable guide but the fishing on the Gunnison was poor that day. Beautiful river though. For some reason the restaurant wasn’t serving breakfast and didn’t have to-go boxes for take out. The Smokehouse did prepare the lunches for the fishing trip and the sandwiches were very good. The resort does not have much in the way of “grounds” and is situated just off the highway. The cabins are very close together so all in all it has a “busy” feel. Good base camp for lots of activities.

My friend was an experienced fly fisherman, and it was my first time. Holden made it a great trip for both of us. We caught a ton of fish on a full day trip, and Holden never rushed us. In fact, he helped my friend find a special hole that they had to get out of the boat to hit, and they landed a big one on dries. Holden has a laid back personality, but is definitely active on the boat pointing out all the key spots while giving you tips to improve on your fishing technique. We wanted to skip lunch in order to maximize our time on the water, and Holden was great with it. He led us to the trifecta: we caught fish on nymphs, streamers and dries. No matter what your fishing level, he makes the trip very enjoyable. - John & Berry

We booked Audrey Grand for the fourth time, and it was as spectular as ever. Three years ago my first fly fishing from a raft/boat, and she had me catching fish in the first hour. Since then my husband and I come up to Almont, stay at Harmels on the Taylor and fish, eat and raft at Three Rivers. On our fishing trip this year, we had Audrey teach our son, daughter in law and two grandsons on a "wade and walk" trip and they all were first-timers and all caught several fish. After they left, my husband and I went on the boat with Audrey and we each caught 6 or 7 brown trout and rainbows. She just knows how to put you where the fish are!

Remarkable from the beautiful cabin by the river to the amazing food, and the outstanding staff.

Our cabin was right on the river with a deck and a hot tub. Had a nice screened in porch area and we used it to relax and listen to the river. The cabin was awesome - loved the lay out.

We ate a lot of our meals at the restaurant on site and tried a lot of the items off the menu - they were all amazing. All the staff were so nice, and we really had fun talking to them. You can tell they all seemed like one big family there.

Just can't say enough about our experience - we will for sure be back for another vacation!

They have a pet policy - they do accept them in certain types of housing, its on their "lodging" page on their website: Pets: We allow dogs and they must be declared at or before time of check-in. Dogs are allowed only in cabins and vacation homes, not lodge rooms. There is an additional fee of $15/pet/night and a maximum of 2 dogs per unit. Dogs must be leashed, quiet and attended at all times (never left alone in cabins). Pet rest areas must be used and all droppings picked up. Owners assume full responsibility for any damages to persons or property. No refunds are given if you are asked to leave because of pet policy violations. Have fun, it's an awesome place!
