Calypso Cay Vacation Villas is located near all of the Orlando theme parks and is the perfect Florida vacation getaway: a laid-back, island themed resort featuring tropical landscaping and the relaxing ambiance of the Caribbean.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We stayed at the Calypso Cay for a family trip to Seaworld and Kennefy Space Center. The room was spacious since they gave us the suite A and B with connecting doors with the kitchen amenities and also a washer and dryer in each suite. It was also very convenient to the pool and on the first floor knowing we have 2 children with us. The only thing I didn’t like was their pushy timeshare presentation to attend or else they will not give you the parking permit. I already made up mind not to buy anything and I listened for half a day. Still they called their manager to give me the song and dance but in the end, I won and got my $200 Visa card. Glad it was a cloudy day and we didn’t have to go anywhere. But wasting my time for half a day.? Damn I better get my $200. This pushy timeshare people should stop...

very clean suite and surrounding area, very well maintained landscape, pools were very inviting. enjoyed overall. but not what expected! a few irritating things. no luggage carrier to transport items to room. had to have a gate code to get into all pools but not told code. the elevator in bldg. 23 was very hot and took forever(only 3 floors) and know one using it but us! the hall way was unlit, and gloomy...need some bright colors to reflect calypso fun!! grills had underground gas fixtures but know signs or mention of this when trying 7 different grills through out the property! mentioned to the man at the pool bar and found out! no pool towels were provided so we used the room towels and washed them every day. only one pool bar/grill was operating or children activities...im guessing due to covid. the suite was a bit dated, I have vacationed here 3 times in the past, this was not up to expectations compared to past. I understand Capitol Vacations had taken ownership, perhaps they are still in transition.

The room is very large has a separate shower and toilet from the master king bed suite which comes with a hot tub and it’s own sink also has a full kitchen washer/dryer combo 2 nice size TVs with cable also has a screened in deck cones with a pull out couch queen size.... the pools are awesome and the whole faculty is very kid friendly. The Bad... the parking sucks they only have 2 handicapped spaces per building so my husband had to walk from way at the other end of the parking lot which wasn’t even our building I checked in and never once was able to get the wifi password the mantience staff is always parking in the handicapped spots during the day so u can’t use them and the hot tub spit out some nasty black mold from the jets... other than that it was a nice quiet comfortable stay

I never take the time to write a review. We vacation 2-3 weeks a year. We booked a 3 bedroom unit for 5 nights and thought we got a deal. Big mistake. Calypso Cay check in was hard to find and that is where the problems started.
We had to wait because our room was not ready. While we waited they informed us that there would be an additional fee if $180 for the 5 nights we were there to use the property. I thought it was high, but the kids were excited for the Zipline and the fun house on the site.
We later found out that even though it was on site, it was an additional $20 per person. We decided it was steep to pay. We later found out the Zipline place was never even open, or only open for a few short hours during the day.
To play golf you were forced to give them a form of ID or you were not allowed to rent anything. We gave them an ID only to have the staff give me someone's else's ID when I returned the equipment.
The slide on the property wasn't even allowed to be used. For the price you pay to use the things on the resort, you would think things would be fixed if it wasn't working.
There is no vacuum in the units also, so cleaning up after you is not possible. We saw the cleaning staff dragging vacuums with them from unit to unit. We asked for a broom, and it was like we were applying for a new home with all the hoops we had to jump through. Really management? What are you thinking?
We ended up buying toilet paper for our unit because we asked for some, and it never came.
We were quick to learn to keep our flip-flops on in the unit because our feet got black quick. I have attached a photo of a foot just two hours of walking around in the unit.

I’m a frequent traveler, and this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. It started at check-in when they’re very rude but I didn’t want to complain because I figured maybe they’re having a bad day , however in the day of checking out I returned to the front desk to ask them to renew the key so I may get back in the room and grab my items and and leave, however the front desk receptionist Evelyn was very rude and had a very nasty attitude, when inquiring about the general manager contact information I was told that she didn’t have it at the moment. The elevator was out during my two days day and I was assigned a room on the third-floor, , when I tried to explain to them I should tuition they told me that if I wanted to check in early which was 3:15 PM that was the only room available at the time! I’m sure anyone that had any back injuries would appreciate my complaint of going up three stories with your bag and then coming back down. They charged my card and additional $50 because I didn’t leave at 10 and rather left at 10:45 , 45 minutes after the checkout time! I will dispute the charge with my credit card company and I will contact the corporate office of this resort, wanted to share my experience so I can warn people to make sure they know what they are up against if they decide to choose this resort, they have to be very careful I would not recommend it

We stayed 5 days/4 nights for spring break. The rooms are dated and FILTHY. My 18 month old was barefoot for 10 mins and his feet were covered in black dirt from the carpet (pictured). We asked to have it cleaned, and they lied and said they sent someone to the room, only for our parents to confirm they had not. We had to put all the provided dishes in the dishwasher to teclean and sanitize. The dishes, dining table even the knives had mystery gook all over it. (Pictures of knives)
The property isn’t well kept. The park had one attendant for zip lining, the jumper and the rock climbing. This was every time we went over, despite the time. All the kids had to wait forever to use. Or they were simply told it closed for now. The playground is closed, rusted, and missing the fence so taped off with caution tape.
This may have been a great place years ago, but it is run down, has terrible service, and the park is too poorly ran and maintained for the kids to enjoy. The only decent space was the pool area.

All the pictures of the resort that Calypso Cay posts are of the main building a high rise & none of the other possible buildings. We were staying a week in our exchange timeshare through RCI a 4BR, 2 bath, that sleeps 10 with a pull out sofa. We don't blame RCI, we have been with them since 2001 & this is the 1st time a place has been uncleanly. When we arrived to check in we were told that our room wasn't ready, but they would call us when it was ready....well 2 & a half hours later nothing. We went back to check in & found out several other guests were having issues checking in as well. The door to the villa looked like it had been kicked in. The floors were so dirty that your feet/socks were black with in a hour. The livingroom only had sitting space for 4 people. The remote to the tv skips 2 channels thought it was maybe the batteries but that wasn't the case. 2 of the beds only had sheets. The oven doesn't open all the ways because it hits the cabinets. The top rack of the dishwasher doesn't pull out very far. There black mold around the jets in the master bedroom jacuzzi disgusting. Only 1 garbage bag & 2 partial rolls of toilet paper for 10 people for a week! The people in the room above us were so loud running back & forth jumping off the furniture from 10:30 pm - 11:45 pm. We knocked on the door but no one would answer so we thought maybe kids were there alone. We called the front desk to see if they could do something to quiet them down & were told they would call them & if it didn't stop to let them know. Well never heard a phone ring & it didn't stop. We tried to call the front desk again but no one would answer, so we had to walk over to the front desk. We were then told that they would have security come over. 20 minutes later security finally showed up to address the noise issue. I wouldn't recommend even 1 nights stay. We definitely won't be returning.

If I can only give 0 rating I will! I will never go back to this resort as the room that we were in was filthy with cockroaches and ants. Smell so bad and it looks like it was never cleaned properly. Carpet was so dirty,can't walk on it barefoot. My kids were wearing white socks and it turned brown, that's how dirty it was. So we decided to wear our slippers. My kids even told me if they ever cleaned the room. Called customer service that night and complained about the issue but to no avail. I asked if they can move us to another room and they said there is no availability but meanwhile the resort in not busy or packed with guests. I know there is available room, they just don't want us to move. Then we asked if they can send someone to at least clean the room and get rid of the cockroaches and ants. But they said there is no cleaning staff available at night and will send someone the next day. Since then we didn't get any call back from them and no one showed up to clean the room. So yeah, basically no one even bothered to address our issue. Not only that, customer service/staffs are rude in the resort. When we were checking in, we came early and the staff said no you have to go back at 4. I asked if there is any chance for early check in early but was answered in a bad manner. Then checking out, tried to call to check out but no one is answering. Went in the front desk and they are not even on the phone nor busy with other guest. They just simply does not want to answer the phone!!! Overall, it was a hell of an experienced for us from check in to check out! Total disaster!!!

I normally do not write reviews but this place deserves it! Dirtiest place I have ever stayed. Dishes, floors walls everything’s about it was disgusting. The only plus side was the washer and dryer on-site so I could wash everything before we used it. The amenities are filthy as well halls smelled like pot and people playing loud music well into the morning one night. This place is a disgrace!

Hello Philip, we have a guest service desk on our property that provides admission tickets for all theme parks and dinner theaters in the area. Single day tickets are not typically discounted, but multi-day passes can be.
"The expensive amenities fees do not cover all of the amenities.....it basically just covers the pools. Most things including food options are closed except weekends"
There are more places to choose from in the Kissimmee area.
