The staff were always pleasant and approachable. Even though the hotel is right on the highway, there was basically no outside noise. However, I do wear earplugs. We declined housekeeping daily, but there were housekeepers on the floor to acquire extra toiletries from without any trouble. Even at 11:30 at night, there was someone available to bring us blankets. Great stay!

The website should note and staff should advise that garage parking is limited. Additionally a method for tracking availability should be implemented. I was in town visiting family and arrived back at the hotel late and to find the garage doors closed. The location is by office buildings so on a Saturday night it is secluded. While the immediate area seemed ok, having to park 2-3 blocks from the hotel left a lot to be desired. Additionally, I called the front desk to advise that I was unable to use the garage but was still charged $50+. Called again and waiting for charge to be returned. Furniture and decor was scratched and banged up making the hotel feel dated.

Housekeeping of the bathroom pre-arrival was not thorough.

Just be aware that this room is directly adjacent to I-365, with the majority of the rooms directly or very near the freeway. They provide earplugs on each nightstand, a clue to noise level at night. Location was 3 blocks from Metro, walking distance to National Mall. Need to walk 3-4 block to find food.

Hello leo043_10, Thank you for staying with us and providing your feedback. As in most hotels whether located in the city or suburbs, earplugs are a courtesy being provided to customers as some folks are light sleepers although the traffic from 395 doesn't interfere with the rest that our customers enjoys over and over again hence returning. If travels should take you back to our property, feel free to request a room on the opposite side from where you were and hopefully you will enjoy the warmth of our hospitality. Warm regards, Hotel Management

I chose this hotel because it's right near the Museum of the Bible. Checking in as a very weird procedure because the front desk for checking is actually on the third floor. As you come in you're greeted by a valet Parker who doesn't seem like he has anything to do with the hotel other than take your car parket. It was very weird coming in not knowing where to check in at and then finding out it's on the third floor. Then to come to find out it's $50 per day for parking we checked in at 12 midnight and I had to be out by 3 p.m. the next day and pay $50 to the parking. The showers were horrible it's a really cheap shower head and it was driving my wife crazy she couldn't take a proper bath yet we're paying over $200 a night for the hotel room.

Hello WorldTraveling215, Thank you for staying with us and providing your feedback. We completely understand that not all of our customers will find how unique our property is by not checking in our guests' on street level, but on the 3rd floor with great views based on the location of our property which would create a gridlock. Sorry if the interaction that you had with our Valet was not very engaging nor informative which we will ensure there's consistency with all of them. As in all cities, parking fees tend to be higher versus being in the suburbs. Based on where we are located, be it that our parking fee is still lower than some areas here in the city. Being a fairly new Hyatt property (almost 5 years), we are in compliance with ALL Hyatt Brand Standards with our rooms and throughout the hotel. This eliminated us not having cheap nor non-Brand specked items in lowering our value nor Hyatt Standards. Warm regards, Hotel Management

I never stayed in a hotel that charged guests for parking let alone the exorbitant fee of $42.00 per night. We expected good hearty breakfast each morning. Instead, the 'continental' breakfast we received was a joke; food was of poor quality and the coffee tasted watered down. The room wasn't attended to each day of our stay and the towels felt like sand paper; as of laundry neglected to utilize fabric softener. The snack/beverage canteen was pathetically poor. The air conditioner in the room was very loud. As a Hyatt member, I've come to expect more from your brand. We were very disappointed with our experience.

My stay was for business. It is a short walk from the Federal Center SW Metro station. Probably one of the best places to stay if you have business at HHS, HUD or NASA. If you’re trying to catch an afternoon flight at Reagan, you can store your luggage there and it’s a straight shot to pick up your luggage and onto the airport when the time comes up.

I saw that another reviewer had trouble with the traffic behind the property. The rooms are very well insulated and the traffic noise was a randomized “hum”. Having said that, it might be bothersome to people who might not be used to an urban setting. I also have trouble sleeping on the first night and I found a white noise app on my phone overcame the randomness of the hum.

Finally, I have to say that the staff was excellent.

The Room was ready over an hour and a half after the promised 3:00 pm check in time. This is unacceptable and left us walking around the city with no place to go. When we made it into the room around 4:30, we immediately turned the AC down to 65. The temp in the room never dipped below 75 the entire time we were in the room. When we contacted the front desk about this, we were told maintenance would be sent up to the room. 45 minutes later, there was still nobody there, so I called the front desk again. Only then did a very unprofessional maintenance man come to the room to “fix” the air conditioning. It did not improve. Shocker. The wifi was also so slow it was almost unusable. Breakfast was ok, but not great. Overall, I would tell anybody considering staying here to do yourself a favor and just stay anywhere else. The service is impersonal and quite frankly this is not a good hotel given the price point.

The hotel was very clean. The check-in process was good. Our reservation for 1 king room was somehow in the system for 2 rooms so when we checked in they said they were unable to give us a King room but we came back down to the lobby and spoke with a different person and they were able to give us a king room - yeah! This place is a quick 10 min walk to the mall. I highley recoment using Capital Bikes to get around - there is one just a few steps from the hotel and there are numerous drop spots near the major attractions.

The hotel is located within walking distance to the mall and right next to the DC Nasa Headquarters (their gift shop is a hidden gem). It's not far from The Spy Museum and L'Enfant Plaza with the food court. All staff at the hotel were nice and friendly and very helpful. The employees running the complimentary breakfast kept everything stocked well and there was constant fresh hot food being put out. I felt there was a nice variety. Enough to please everyone. The room, while a little small, was the biggest room I found at the hotels I looked at. I did like that the bathroom was nice and big. There isn't daily housekeeping (but I was told they are about to go back to daily) but there was a housekeeper and a cart on our floor every day so I was able to switch out towels and any trash I left out at night was gone by the next morning. I prefer to just get clean towels anyway so it wasn't a big deal to me. The only thing was that the pool was closed for the season and that was one of the reasons why I picked the hotel. I should have called first though as we really wanted a pool for the kids. FYI - the hotel is right next to the highway and even on a high floor (10) you do hear some traffic noise but we adjusted after the first night and it's really not that bad but it might be noisier if you are on a lower floor. If you get a room facing the other direction, I don't think there is much traffic noise at all as it's a fairly quiet street. I would definitely stay there again.

The location is a good one for walking to all the Mall attractions (approx. 15 min walk). The rooms are spacious. Ask for a room on the front (street) side as opposed to the back side which faces the highway.
The complimentary breakfast had many hot and cold options including gluten free.
The pool is small and although there are posted pool rules, there is no staff around to enforce them. There were unsupervised kids (preteens) running around and being rambunctious, adults smoking, etc.
Staff was courteous and our room was cleaned regularly without asking, which is rare these days.
Don't count on the bar food for dinner. They were often out of items on the very limited menu. We walked to the wharf for dinner and it's a worthwhile visit.
If you're parking a car, it will run you about $50 a day.
Overall, we had a good experience here. (And yes, the elevators are very slow!)

As a solo woman traveler, I would probably only walk around during the day. Sunset will be 8:15-ish in June. I grew up in Brooklyn so I am super-cautious. I recommend Bistro du Jour on the waterfront.

What hotel can you see the White House from?
Answer from TerryAReviewer

The White House is actually difficult to see even when walking on the street due to fences around the perimeter and trees. If you find a hotel within view, a higher floor is recommended.
