Internationally renowned for the greatest wildlife spectacle on the planet, The Serengeti National Park located in north west Tanzania is the ultimate ‘wildlife show’ on earth. Across the globe authors and filmmakers have come to document the Annual Migration of hundreds of thousands of animals, but there is still only one way to understand and experience the true magnificence of this natural phenomena and that is to be part of it. Serengeti Migration Camp is the embodiment of the ‘camp’ experience. Located next to the famous Grumeti River which is home to resident hippos that bark and wallow their days away, Serengeti Migration Camp has become synonymous with low-impact high-action game viewing in a landscape that is untouched since the dawn of time.

we stayed for 3 nights in the camp. Our guide (Alex) was fantastic, not just in spotting animals, but also telling interesting stories, quizzing our kids, and making sure we get the right spots to take pictures. We saw the migration, and I loved how he balanced ensuring that we had a great view, with not disturbing the animals.
The location of the camp is great, it took us an hour to the river to see the great migration, and lots of interesting terrain around. The view is quite beautiful with hippos, buffalo and elephants passing
The butler (Jackson) was very friendly, at spend a lot of effort to ensure our kids where happy
The menu is small (3 dishes to choose from, changing every night), however the food was high quality, an beautiful platted.
The swimming pool is nice for the kids, and the staff is friendly

The tents are large, with great showers and fully equipped, however as with all tents a bit noisy when it is windy. They provided hot water bottles for cold nights

Overall great experience, would highly recommend

Our stay and safari at the Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp was fantastic! I was in tent 20 I believe had the best patio and view. See pic. Outstanding camp with excellent service.
Our butler, Julius , was outstanding. Julius was soooo accommodating- he had coffee waiting for us at 3:20 AM on a table covered with a tablecloth so we could have hot coffee before leaving for our morning balloon ride! Julius also set up an awesome morning breakfast on the deck overlooking the camp/river. We also had a gorgeous river side bush delicious dinner. Julius and the team were outstanding!
Our guides, Olais and Moses, were outstanding. The drivers did such a great job finding the wildlife and accommodating our schedule. I’ve been on two other safaris in the past and this topped them! The most spectacular for me was the Great Migration Mara River crossing in the Serengeti – thousands of wildebeest and zebra - just Spectacular!! Even the drivers were taking videos!

We stayed here in July 2021 for 2 nights. The service was outstanding, especially from our waiter, Julius. It is a beautiful facility with lovely views. The tent was very nice. It even had hot running water, not just a bucket shower. It was the only place we stayed that provided radios for guests to use to call for escorts after dark. The game drives were very good. I saw a hippo on my way to breakfast one morning.

Breakfast and the dinner we had in the dining room were delicious. One night dinner was served by the river. It was a nice experience and a hippo decided to stop by. Employees ensured guests kept distance from the hippo.

The only down side of the facility was the amount of stairs. However, there were hand rails, so I got good exercise. The downside of the Serengeti was the tsetse flies. There were no flies once on the grounds of the Elewana Migration Camp, though.

This was our fourth Elewana property and the last safari stop. It was a great way to end our time on safari. First let me say that Elewana properties are all excellent and special with attention to detail, beautiful, comfortable accommodations, great food and consistently good guides.
Our guide at migration camp was God Bless. By this time our party of four was pretty specific on what we wanted to see - and did he ever deliver! He put us right in the middle of a large wildebeest/zebra migration, found us all the big cats, and got us up close and personal to elephants.
Meals were wonderful. Bush lunches were always delicious and varied, dinner was served in different places and was a four course feast - don’t miss the soups. On our last day we had a bush breakfast which was memorable. We were celebrating an 81st birthday and 51st anniversary and we had a special dinner including a very enthusiastic birthday sound in Swahili done by all the staff. It was delicious and fun. Our waiter Rasheed was ever present without being intrusive and took great care of us throughout our stay. Said the general manager was visible and helpful.
One caveat, the tents are down on the river and everything else is at the top of the hill. It involves quite a bit of stairs but they are gradual and if you get short of breath or are mobility impaired you just need to plan for extra time to get up them. They did offer a golf cart if I found it too difficult, and there was always a lovely lady Raheena?
Who appeared to accompany me whenever I was using the stairs.
The tents were spacious and comfortable. The night sounds were fun to listen to. It was just a delightful experience.
Thank you all for making it so special.

My two daughters and a good friend stayed at the Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp in June, 2023 and loved the Tanzania location which is located right on the Grumeti River. We adored our safari guide, Sirili. He was very interesting, knowledgeable and passionate about the animals and his home. Safari roads can be a bit rough, but his vehicle was new, comfortable and offered great views. Morning safari's can be a bit chilly, but he always had wraps for us to cover-up with and plenty of water. The migration was in full force, and there were animals as far as the eye could see ~ like ants covering the earth. We saw so many lions, elephants, zebra's, giraffes, wildebeest, leopard, cheetahs, hippo's and many more during our daily safari's with Sirili. Our favorite experience were two picnics near a lake in the middle of the migration. The food Sirili had prepared for us was incredible, and our champagne toast was perfect for this epic adventure! We were surrounded by a multitude of animals, and it was thrilling! Our accommodations were lovely with incredible views of the African landscape. Old hippo's called "Old Generals" could be heard in the Grumeti River at night making laughing sounds. They would venture onto land at night to feed, and our guards took us on a detour one evening when the Old General was a bit too close to us. Near our camp, we heard the trumpeting of elephants at dusk and saw them calling to the babies to "keep up"! While having our delicious breakfast which included a Gluten-Free menu for me, we would watch the baboons drop down out of a nearby tree. The babies on the Mom's back were precious. We adored all of the staff especially Lazarus, the manager; Sirili, our Safari Guide; Bweed, our amazing waiter; Rose and other staff that helped as butlers. One night we dined under the stars with candlelight and mosquitos were never a problem. It was an enchanting evening. For our last night, Bweed prepared a special dinner just for us, and all of the staff sang the Jambo Bwana song which to this day I can still hear the tune in my head. We may have gone to Africa to see animals and the beautiful landscape, but it's the people that won our hearts with their kindness and generous spirits. Our African adventure was a dream come true, and the memories and photo's of our trip are priceless!

To Alex, Rashid, Said, and everyone at Migration Camp: THANK YOU for the most incredibly stay in the Serengeti. We worked with a travel agent to book our honeymoon safari and she highly recommended Elewana Migration Camp. From the moment we arrived on the Lobo airstrip and were greeted by our guide Alex with cookies, coffee, and tea, we knew we were in for an amazing trip.

The whole staff greeted us waving upon our arrival at the camp and we were introduced to Rashid, who was our go-to throughout our time there. He arranged our packed breakfasts and lunches for our drives (eating delicious food in the middle of the bush was unreal!), made sure we had tea and coffee on early mornings, and generally made us feel so taken care of. We stayed in one of the "tents" (they are so much more glam than that, with a king bed and beautiful bathroom) with a direct view of the camp's neighbors, a family of hippos. It was a hint of what we'd see on our drives, including a family of elephants with 3 babies, a pride of 12 lions resting after a big meal, and the great migration. (We just kept saying "wow!") Alex taught us so much about the animals and how they live; he is like an encyclopedia. (Do a walking safari with him for sure!) But what we really will never forget is the incredible service at Migration Camp. To sum it up: on our last night, the staff performed a goodbye song for us, which ended with the delivery of a cake decorated with a hippo. So sweet, literally and figuratively.

A lot of people only stay for one or two nights, but we loved and recommend staying for 4. We saw everything we dreamed of (a cheetah running with two babies, anyone?!) and got to get to know some super special people in the process. We hope to come back one day to relive it all over again. <3

Met at the airport by our guide Jackson who had already laid out refreshments for us to partake before travelling to our destination. Much to our surprise and enjoyment we were taken straight away on a game drive. Jackson was the most amazing guide. His knowledge of the animals and where to find them was incredible, to the extent we saw a leopard lazing in a tree on our first outing. When we arrived at the Serengeti Migration Camp we were met by the Manager Said, and transported into a beautiful world. The scenery was breathtaking and when we were shown to our luxurious tent, the view was so amazing it made my wife cry. We could see hippopotamus and giraffe and that evening the hippopotamus visited our tent as we laid listening to them munching away in complete safety. Security were present throughout the day to keep an eye on the animals and to escort you back to your tents every evening as the animals roam freely. There was never a time we felt threatened, it was all very exciting. One day we stepped outside to see two giraffe eating at the side of our tent, a picture in our minds we will always treasure.
The food was delicious and every day a wonderful lunch was provided and Jackson found safe places for us to dine amongst the wildlife, I really enjoyed the safari beer which he made sure was available. One day we sat watching the zebra and wildebeest with a lion in the distance. Hassan, The Restaurant Manager, looked after us with humour and friendliness. Always attentive but not intrusive. He even began teaching my wife Swahili and they would converse every evening, often laughing as my wife tried to pronounce the words correctly. Dining was in a different area each evening and the views of the wilderness whilst we eat will never be forgotten.
It was an extremely emotional experience to stay at this camp and it was very covid safe and aware.
Said was friendly and always available to chat with and welcomed us back from every game drive making sure all our needs were met.

We finished hiking Kilimanjaro and immediately went on Safari! Migration Camp was the perfect place to continue our honeymoon! The rooms are private, romantic and beautiful. We loved seeing the hyrax playing and hearing the hippos snorting at night. Our safari guide was knowledgeable, accommodating and always looking for a way to make our experience special (we saw upwards of 40 lion including mature males!!!) Most importantly, the staff made our experience perfect. Elewana will welcome you to your "home away from home". They mean it. Our entire experience was made more special because of the amazing team that went above and beyond. They washed all our clothes/equipment from the hike. Romantic dinners were planned in different locations on the property every night. Go and see the sunset! Go have a glass of Dawa! Migration Camp was an amazing Safari experience!

Excellent luxury cabins with great privacy over looking a river with Hippos and crocodiles. Dining rooms and common areas are a short walk with steps but staff are always on hand to help or support. Very safe environment but also very close to the animals. Our Safari guide was Alex and he was with us every day for the game drives into the Serengeti. His knowledge and experience ensured we got close to all the animals to see them in their natural environment.
Our butler was Rashid and he was very efficient and charming.

Combined with Ngoro Ngoro, Masai Mara and contiguous parks, the Serengeti is larger than our home state Massachusetts. Super unspoiled, you really feel like you are in the animals' natural habitat. The Migration Camp staff, led by Said, was almost perfect - fantastic service that made our stay relaxing and ultimately memorable. Our guides, Ola and Angela, were excellent - knowledgeable, friendly, and responsive.

Yes, the pool is safe. It is close to the reception area and lounge, and up several steps from the main paths to the tented suites. There were hippos and zebra near a stream in front of the tents but sufficiently removed from the pool area. You might see meerkats scurrying around the area though.

Thank you for your message. Given the many factors to consider, you could wear multiple layers or bring a warmer jacket. This will depend on whether you get quite cold generally and if you have the luggage space. We look forward to seeing you soon! Elewana Collection.

Thank you for your message! All rooms at Serengeti Migration Camp have 24hr power for lighting and charging, however, we do advice that you bring converters and universal adaptors as the camp uses UK square three-pin plugs. Serengeti Migration Camp has en suite shower rooms with a flushing toilet, normal shower, and a double basin vanity. Hope this helps and we look forward to hosting you. Best wishes The Elewana Collection.
