We had a great few nights at the Tropical Heritage.
We found it to be great value for money (at a very expensive time of year), rooms were large, very clean and comfortable.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
Only thing to look at was the aircon unit in our living room which didn't get particularly cool - but the bedroom was fine.
Would definitely stay again!

Family run business which provides a neat, clean personal service. I have given this an excellent rating because this hotel provides a great service for the money you pay. The rooms are clean and well kept and sure, all the furniture and decor is not brand new but it all works just fine. The shower has plenty of water pressure and the bed was very comfortable.
This hotel is located on Minnie street so it is the perfect distance to walk the Cairns Esplanade from the beginning to the Lagoon which I enjoyed doing everyday. In fact, the location of this place actually encourages you to take this walk. There is no better way to enjoy what Cairns has to offer from an aesthetic walking experience as this 10-15 minute stroll is just lovely.
The people at the front desk are very friendly, offering a very personal touch which you get with this family business. Jordan in particular was most helpful and provided excellent tourist advice and support for our holiday.

We had a wonderful one night stay at the Heritage Cairns. A clean, spacious and well equipped room with a comfortable bed, air conditioning and a fridge. But what made this hotel even better was the fantastic receptionist. She went out of her way to help us, the lift was broken during our stay so she moved us to a ground floor room as we had a lot of luggage, she also assisted us with a taxi number and warned us that Ubers do sometimes cancel early in the morning - we had a an early morning flight the next day so needed a lift to the airport, our Uber did arrive as planned but it was reassuring to know we had a back up plan, thanks to this lady. It is little touches like this that really make a difference! We would definitely book again.

I spent an evening here before my return flight home to Darwin. It is ideally located, a short walk to the Esplanade and the city centre. My room was clean, and the king size bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel boasts a charming tropical garden and outdoor seating area, and while the pool was closed for maintenance, it looked like a lovely place to refresh after days exploring Cairns and the surrounding areas. It was excellent value for money, and I particularly enjoyed the artwork – sculptures and incredible masks from PNG. There is a breakfast room, which although I didn't have breakfast here, had fresh fruit, bread, cereals and coffee/tea, etc. The additional price (January 2024) was $18.00, which looked like it would be well worth it. the staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made my brief stay even more relaxing. Highly recommended.

The not so good:
Room smelled badly
Room not available until after 4.30PM as it was still being cleaned
Microwave was filthy
No hot water for showering in the evening
Management changed the breakfast time overnight from 0700 to 0800 without any notification other than a sign on the door to the breakfast area
The breakfast room was absolutely disgusting. Dishes had not been washed from the day before. There were food scraps and unwashed dishes piled up all over the room.
Sorry guys but I think this Motel is being poorly managed.

I have been staying at Tropical Heritage for at least 6 years. The staff are friendly, smiling and always willing to help. The accomodation is clean, tidy and comfortable. The beds are comfortable and linen fresh and clean. The bathroom is spacious and very clean.
We stayed in the two bedroom apartment with a kitchen in one room. A bit of an over kill for us this trip as we only stayed two nights but will certainly use the rooms on an extended visit. Whilst we didn’t use the kitchenware it appears that everything is supplied. My only criticism is the microwave requires relocating as it is to high for safe use.
We have stayed in most of the room combinations over the years and always the rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. I have found Tropical Heritage one of the best motels in Cairns and is very good value.
The hotel is conveniently located and within easy walking distance of the Esplanade, restaurants along the Esplanade, waterfront and Cairns Central. Cairns Hospital and medical practises are only a couple of blocks away as well.
Tropical Heritage is a great place to stay and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The hotel is really nice. The rooms were absolutely perfect and extremely clean. Our room had a wide closet and a big bathtub. We found everything we needed. The staff is very kind and helpful at all times. The esplanade is between 5 to 10 minutes walk, We had a great experience during our stay!!

Lovely staff member from Chile very welcoming. Room was equipped with toaster, plates, bowls and cutlery. Room clean.
The only negative was that the bathroom floor was slippery and didn't seem to drain properly. We just placed lots of towels on the floor

This is our regular place to stay in Cairns. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. We stay in the Presidential Suite, the large room with separate lounge area and two balconies. All the other luxury items, king bed, spa bath, separate shower and large tv in lounge room and a tv in bedroom also. It’s location is ideal for walking to the Cairns Aquarium, esplanade and the city restaurants.
We definitely recommend staying here.

Hate giving such a bad review as the staff we really lovely and helpful but that’s as far as it goes. Room was on the ground floor and bathroom had a weird smell, I think coming from the drain. Really out dated furniture and decor. Bathroom hasn’t been updated in decades. Spent as much time out to dinner as possible as didn’t want to go back to the room but as a solo female travelling for work, didn’t want to be walking home alone too late.

Hi. Taxi was only about 8 - 10 mins and was cheaper than the shuttles. I think it was about $20-$25

Yes, I can tell you that cribs are available. However, I'd still ring them to confirm they have one for the duration of your stay, and that the room is suitable to take one.
