Camped first weekend this campground was open: Thur May 19-Sun May 21/22 in a winnebago camper van.
The campground is wonderfully situated across the road from the beach coast. The showers are clean with plentiful hot water, campsites are huge with some privacy compared to usual private parks, the drinking water is plentiful and very good tasting. The whole campground was clean and well maintained. Most of the campground is seasonal campers hidden in nicely treed private lots.
Facilities are old but clean and functional. New owners and new management had just taken over and were getting familiar with systems e.g. we had to pay cash or etransfer as credit systems were not yet set up; there was no light in the women’s bathroom which i reported the first day - three days later it was still not fixed. There was constant work going on to begin to fix the little things, cleanup after the winter and do general maintenance.
We will come back.

New owners starting to make some updates to booking systems. The nicest sites don’t have services. Sewer is not available and park charges for pump outs on site. Some of the seasonal trailers are neglected. Serviced sites do not have very much privacy. The best part of the park is the location.

Wasn’t sure what to expect as we couldn’t select the site, it was chosen for us. The site was across the road from a great beach and boardwalk. Would have liked to stay another day, loved the beach and the kids loved playing in the rolling waves of Lake Huron.

We enjoyed staying at Providence Bay Tent & Trailer Park on our August 2015 trip to Manitoulin Island. Situated right by a beautiful beach and in mid-island, making it a great spot for daytripping. The sites offered quite a bit of privacy, the toilets and showers were always very clean, and the on-site store was a treat for the kids when they wanted an ice cream in the afternoon.

Tip: If you can, bring your bikes. You can bike around the trailer park to the shower and whatnot, as well as out to the beach where there is a beautiful boardwalk to enjoy.

Room Tip: Avoid "Sunny Circle" sites in the park since it offers no shade and little privacy.

I camp all over Ontario. This camp ground is filled with seasonal campers. We were in a “field” no trees or anything that resembled camping. We got in trouble for talking too loud. Dogs are not allowed at beach and beach has lots of twigs that hurt your feet. Dogs are not allowed to be on board walk. Our dog got in trouble for barking once as a child ran by. The dump truck was running every hour for at least 15 minutes most of the day and it was loud and smelly. The season campers arent always the most friendly but neither are the owners and they don’t smile upon check in or check out. There are alot nicer places to stay on the island this place i personally don’t suggest and was warned by many others before booking but I guess this is how you learn.

We spent 4 nights tent camping on a serviced site with our three kids. Quiet campground and very nice owners, but most of all can't beat the location! Beautiful long sandy beach (Providence bay) with the clearest water just across the road. Beautiful sunsets!

Watch out for the 'poor man's' Lahey and Randy duo – you know the owner and his 35 year old going on 12 son. They keep a pit bull tied out front, second house near the gate. It lunges and barks at my dog, provoking him to yank on his leash and bark back. Then Randy boy appears at the door saying, within earshot of many campers and their children, “Get your f@@@n' dog off my lawn” to which I, taken aback, seeing an empty Blue on the front porch, suggest that it's probably a bit too early to be drinking. Of course next, “I'm not drunk (funny he feels he has to defend that), you effin' A$!-whole (like it's the only insult in his lexicon, like most of his type)”, to which I finally reply “so I guess that's just the way you are then...” A few minutes later his Daddy appears at my campsite, accusing me of engaging in an altercation with his son, emphasizing that he is not drunk (hmmmm), calling me a liar and (you guessed it, with all the intellectual prowess he could muster) an eh-hole, and telling me to pack up and leave the campsite. In front of my wife and 5 year old son. A few minutes later Sonny Boy whizzes by in the honey truck and threatens “I'll be talking to you later”, then a second time giving me the evil eye. You can't make this stuff up.

We have been made aware that burning any type of wood that isn't specifically baught from the tent and trailor rental place is absolutely not permitted. Their only reasoning behind so, is that it wasn't "adequate island wood to burn".

This was our second and last time staying there.
Thank you to the ignorant staff for the terrible and yet alarming experience.

Terrible experience, small and non private campsites, bathrooms far from camp with cold water showers. Management was very disrespectful and not cooperative, lied to us. Beach is nothing like on the pictures (not much sand).
After staying there one night we decided to move to a different camp site and so glad we did!

We stayed at this campground for 6 nights. It was a quiet campground. It says it has wifi but only up near the office not at the sites. The bathrooms were clean with free showers. They have a store with essentials. They do not have laundry facilities but there are laundromats close by. The beach is beautiful. I recommend if yo go you take a stroll to the marina and follow the shore south east (away from the campground). We walked for hours and could have kept going. If you go the opposite way down the beach you will find a boardwalk that ends at. an ice cream shop. There were lots of kayakers, paddle boarders, swimmers, sun worshippers, walkers. The campground is dog friendly. Beautiful location for watching the sun set.
