Many businesses, museums and restaurants were closed or had shortened hours of operation on Manitoulin during our mid September visit due to the Covid pandemic. We felt fortunate to have stumbled upon this gem of a B and B in Providence Bay. Providence Bay has one of the best beaches on the island featuring a long, sandy shoreline, incredible sunsets, dunes and an excellent boardwalk. During peak season there is a great shoreline take out style restaurant with picnic tables overlooking the water. I had amazing jerk chicken, peas and rice. We stayed in a room that had a walkout to a wonderful balcony that overlooks Providence Bay. We enjoyed take out suppers at a patio table outside and walkers by commented: “Wow- you’ve got a good view!” which was absolutely true. But that’s not all. A clean, spacious, comfortable room (ours had a very spacious en suite including tub/shower), the use of a beautiful sitting/dining area on the main floor, excellent and more than ample daily breakfasts, juice and coffee (the coffee was great), and excellent, knowledgeable hosts Ingrid and Trevor who, as others have observed can give you detailed information on just about any destination, site, restaurant or activity on the island. On the Bay is open year-round for seasonal activities and Covid precautions are being carefully and effectively maintained. We would love to return to Providence Bay and On the Bay B and B some day and would encourage family and friends to stay there as well. Thank you, Ingrid and Trevor.

The place was immaculate, the breakfasts sumptuous and delicious, the beds were perfect, with large rooms, and space for everything. Beautiful deck for our use as well, with a lovely view. Ingrid and Trevor were most helpful and really helped to make our stay, providing us with useful info about the island and helping us to navigate. Although the weather is not great, and much was closed because of Covid, the fact that we had such a comfy place to come back to each day was most welcoming.

This is not the first time I have stayed at On The Bay B & B. It is a beautiful place with large clean rooms. You get a awesome breakfast and it is a modern home that feels like home. It is virtually seconds to the beach. Ingrid will help you out with all your island information needs and Trevor will make a breakfast that you will talk about for a long time. You will never see as many beautiful sunsets as on Manitoulin Island. Providence Bay is ideal for photography when it comes to sunsets.

Ingrid and Trevor are great hosts. They have a beautiful spacious home that is impeccably clean. Proximity to the water is perfect. Providence Bay is beautiful, peaceful, refreshing and the sunsets are exquisite. Breakfast was hearty and delicious and fueled our adventurous days. Ingrid has an especially vast knowledge of every nook and cranny and business on the island. You don’t need a plan cause she’ll map one out for you that is a perfect mix of beautiful countryside drives to cute quaint local artisan shops to delicious eats and stunning lookouts. We had a delightful time.

We spent 3 nights in On The Bay B&B and enjoyed every minute of it. It is a great big house our room was spacious and had everything we needed . The house located right on the Providence Beach . Ingrid and Trevor are making great breakfasts every morning with delicious homemade bread. Ingrid has very thorogh knowledge of the island that is a big help to people like us who were visiting first time . Great hosts ,great location , big and clean room,perfect breakfasts. Whenever we going to Manitoulin island again we know where to stay :)

Trevor and Ingrid were fabulous, warm and friendly hosts. Ingrid was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations for the area. Best ever, delicious and generous portion sized breakfast. The house was meticulously maintained. Will definitely return for another visit.

We stayed for three nights at On the Bay in the Providence Room and it was absolutely perfect. Our room was very large with access to the balcony and the wonderful view of the beach. Ingrid and Trevor were the perfect hosts and the breakfasts were amazing. If you are visiting Providence Bay this is definitely THE place to stay. We hope to stay again next time we visit Ontario.

Trevor and Ingrid are so laid back that we full so comfortable. The breakfast is so big and good. We have visited Manitoulin Island so many times and we only stay in On the Bay B and B. We are going back end of July.

On the Bay B&B is a great spot as a base for your stay on Manitoulin. Providence Bay has a great sandy beach, water was warm. This is a nice quite village. There are two restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Ingrid is a very friendly hostess. The house is new-just 10 years old and the rooms are great. Wonderful veranda overlooking the beach. And Ingrid's breakfasts are wonderful. Fresh fruit and a cooked breakfast. Fantastic. I highly recommend On the Bay B&B.

Providence Bay is definitely the most beautiful bay on the Island. Around the bay, beyond the beach, beyond the boardwalk, beyond the marina (it's a long beach) is an amazing stretch of rocks that contain different rock formations, fossils and evidence of glacial movement. Very interesting if you're into that stuff. Staying at On the Bay, with Ingrid and Trevor, was a delight. They treated us very well. The room was large and clean, the bed firm and comfortable, the 'guest wing' provided plenty of space to spread out. Ingrid's breakfasts were delicious and featured local fare. Her understanding of the Island, and all it's businesses and sightseeing opportunities was amazing. Do yourself a favour and ask her where to go. We'll definitely stay there again.
