We stayed for 4 nights at the Ndutu Tanzania Bush Camp. This is a mobile camp so the large tents are not set on permanent bases. This does not stop them from being well equipped, including solar lighting throughout, a full set of furniture and a large comfortable bed with mosquito netting. The separate bathroom area included a large basin and canvas wc and shower “cubicles”. We had hot showers whenever we requested them. The tent was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay, despite some rain giving rise to muddy footwear. There was room to sit outside the tent under the awning.

There was a large lounge tent where drinks were served, this had plenty of plug points for charging batteries etc. There was also a large dining tent. Apparently buffet service is the norm but as the camp was less than half full we were served our meals plated. The food was good, and portions large, we did comment that the kitchen obviously assumed everyone had a very healthy appetite at every meal.

We enjoyed our visit. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed for 4 nights and were treated to a kwaheri (farewell) cake on our last evening accompanied by some singing by the staff, a nice send off.

We visited the Bush camp in July 2020 and where blown away by how nice it was. After a hot day on safari spotting lions, leopards and cheetahs, we drove up to a series of tents in the middle of the park. But they were not tents as we knew them...

On being welcomed into our new accommodation we put our bags down next to a giant 4 poster bed. The room was also equipped with a nice writing table and chair, antique chests and wardrobe. There was also an en suite bathroom and shower inside the "tent", such luxury! The camp also has a delightful lounge for relaxing where there is a tv and wifi or as we preferred, some comfy sofas to relax with a book and a cold beer.

The real magic of the camp came as the sun went down and clusters of zebras started to mill around the tents and then through the night we could hear a menagerie of creatures close and quite close by including wildebeest, hyenas and lions.

The staff were very attentive and friendly throughout. We also visited just as coronavirus restrictions eased and they were very through to make sure appropriate safety measures where in place with hand sanitizer and washing stations readily accessible across the camp.

All in all it was such an amazing stay, to have the combination of feeling right up close to nature while also having some touches of luxury was an incredible experience.

What a treat! Honestly, my wife I and I had no idea what we were getting into, as a our travel service had made all of our accommodations, but what a fantastic surprise we were in for. Located literally in the Serengeti, STBC made you feel like you were sleeping among the wildlife while in the comfort and security of a beautiful and very comfortable permanent tent! Despite being so secluded the comforts of WiFi and wine are still at your reach, and even more incredibly an amazing kitchen staff, that provided us meals that I would've expected from an upscale urban hotel. I cannot say enough about the friendliness of the staff, upon arriving at the lodge, I discovered a book in the common area that I had been interested in reading (Homos Deus...for those interested). When checking-out the following the day, the hostess (whose name I disappointingly cannot remember) gave me the book as a gift! Just one example of the friendly and inviting nature of not only the folks at STBC, but Tanzania in general!

I highly recommend making a stop at the Serengeti Tanzania Bush Camps if you're in town for a Safari!!

We stayed at this camp two nights during our recent Safari. We were amazed at the quality of the tents and the running water/flushing toilets. The staff was super friendly and definitely accommodating. Food was also excellent.

This camp moves with the migration. It's in one spot for part of the year and moves to another for the other part, in order to stay behind the Wildebeasts. The camp offers amentities like massages as well. They have a process for ordering showers so that you have hot water, but you can order one at any time so it was super convenient. They don't allow you to walk around the camp at night without an escort for safety reasons, but they offer a walkie talkie service so you don't feel stuck in your tent.

The one downside to this camp is that the wifi and charging of devices is only available in the lounge area.

This was my second time staying at the central TBC location. Right in the heart of animal spotting, the central TBC location is convenient for game drives in every direction. The zebra and wildebeest herds were migrating all around this location and each night we enjoyed the nighttime serenades of these animals in addition to hyena calls. TBC staff is dedicated to customer service, and is warm and welcoming. Facilities are very nice for tent buildings. For experienced campers, the facilities will seem glamorous. For travelers only experienced with 5-star hotel accommodations, the facilities will seem primitive. Each sleeping tent has comfy beds, a flush toilet and shower. Guests must provide advance notice of a hot shower so staff can turn on the hot water. Sleeping tents also have two-way radios for communication with staff. Guests are not allowed to walk alone outside the tents during darkness, for safety. The dining tent and lounge tent are roomy and nicely appointed. Food is plentiful and tasty.

I would recommend this establishment to everyone who really wants to experience Serengeti. The nights were beautiful, very attentive staff, cautious but respectful setup for the wildlife (you end up very aware of the danger, and feel safe), great food, clean tents. They deserve good tips! :)

I’m not a camper, let’s just start with that. I was nervous about the sleeping situation we had arranged for 7 nights. However, this experience has completely changed my mind. Arriving at this mobile camp, which follows the migration, we were greeted by the most animated and happy camp director; Mustafa, who with a big smile gave us some instructions such as how the showers would work, meal times, safety, etc.
Our accommodations were way better than I expected; nice bed, spacious, toilet and shower inside the room. We had an escort to take us back and forth from our rooms to the main area and even tho we could hear lions roar and hienas call, we always felt safe.
Meals; breakfast and dinner were fresh and delicious. The chef did a great job, nice variety specially in the bakery department. Surprisingly, they made fresh pastries every day.
The second part of the trip we moved to a stationary camp, part of the same company and we had the same experience mentioned above. Wonderful, friendly staff, safe, great food and we felt loved and cared for by every one during our stays.
Highly recommend this over hotels. Maybe do a mix of it as we did. We finished our Safari at a regular nice hotel for a night and it was plenty. I wouldn’t have minded if I had stayed at the bush camp all of the days, it was such an unique and amazing experience.

We stayed at two of their camps on safari, two nights at the “Mobile” camp and one night at “Central Turner” camp.
The tents were nicely appointed, with shower and flush toilet. You had to give advance notice if you wanted a hot shower, but that was no problem given that you are in the middle of the Serengeti. The beds were comfortable. Because the floor is directly on the ground, the floors are slightly uneven, so extra care was needed by us seniors. Again no biggie, just awareness.
The lounge and dining room were centrally located, and an escort was required when moving around at night, due to the possibility of a wild animal wandering through.
If wifi is important to you, it’s not the greatest (if it’s working), and you can only charge your devices at the lounge. But seriously, you’re in the heart of the Serengeti, so put the device down and enjoy the atmosphere.
The food was great and plentiful, and the staff was amazing. They were the most friendly, attentive and helpful team you could find anywhere.
These camps are a totally unique experience and highly recommended.

What a wonderful experience. Nice open location, could not see any other sites, although we saw some on the way there. Visits by wildlife in the morning, see picture, giving us the safarie experience that we wanted. Steeve could tell great stories about other wildlife visitors recently, from elephants to a lion with her cub. We saw elephants just a few min away from the camp, so the stories are entirely credible, and lots of savanna sounds during the night.
Steeve and all of his team provided friendly and professional service, the best we have experienced in Zanzania. In spite of some rain during the evenings, everything was spotless, cleaning continuously to ensure our experience was as good as possible.
The tents are comfortable, incl. hot showers, available at the exact time requested. Very flexible help with dietary needs, nothing was too difficult - if it was possible then it was done. Electricy available for chargers, rather good wi-fi available by the main tents.
Highly recommended. Other sites available but not experienced.

The river crossing in August isn't in Tanzania. They're up in Maasai Mara in Kenya. If you want to catch them crossing the river in Tanzania, your best bet is July. In August, the herds hang out in Kenya and then once Sept rolls around, they turn east and south and cross the border back into Tanzania. You can google the Great Migration Map and see where they'll be. There's even one site that lets you put in the month and week and it highlights where the herds will be. There are about half a million zebras and almost 2 million wildebeests that move with the herds every year.
