We stayed in Woods cottage which was absolutely stunning and in a ideal location on the farm.
As soon as we drove in through the doors we were whisked off into another world. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were so friendly and very helpful.
We sampled fantastic food both in the main dining room and at Twiggs. And also tried the famous soufflé pancakes which did not disappoint.
We joined the guided hike, mad Christmas crafts, and tried our hand at axe throwing all were great fun. You must do the scavenger hunt as you discover the grounds and receive a wonderful gift for completing it.
Our 3 days at Twin Farms were truly magical.

Our four night stay at Twin Farms far exceeded our expectations. Forbes magazine was right about the beauty of the place and the quality of service. They ranked it Hotel of the year and I rank it best ever! We celebrated our anniversary. Each guest we encountered raved about their stay whatever the occasion of their visit.
I would list the whole staff if I were to mention individuals who stood out. Alex and Brenda kept us informed and helped us with activities we enjoy; kayaking, hiking and biking. Housekeeping invisibly worked miracles in our room and their meticulous attention to detail is unparalleled. The bartender, Greg-, went out of his way to provide an archaic cocktail we enjoy.
The delicious food at every meal is plentiful and gourmet but not overly fussy. It is scrumptious art. The dining service and wine pairings are perfect. It is all inclusive-even the gratuities.
I highly recommend that you stay here. I can’t wait to come back

We returned to Twin Farms for a second visit and we know why Conde Nast readers rated it one of the best resorts in the world, 4th in the US and #1 in New England. The accommodations were luxurious without being ostentatious, the staff sophisticated and down to earth, and the food and wine to die for.
We stayed in the Barn Cottage which is perfect in any season but in winter it felt so cozy with our large blazing fireplace and views out every window of the deep snowy forest. It is difficult to describe how subtly extraordinary the furnishings are in Barn Cottage from the paintings, the lighting, down to the selection of books in the loft and living room.
The meals were once again extraordinary. Executive Chef Rich and his staff including Exec Pastry Chef Christopher Wilson created meals that were beautiful to taste and beautiful to see, perfectly paired by the sommelier Keven. We have traveled extensively and have never had meals as interesting and as delicious.
And we have to mention the staff. Bright, funny, warm, and always available to make sure our visit was memorable from the first phone call, Kyle's jokes on our tour of the property and the picnic basket that they sent us off with, they cared for us like family.
Thank you to everyone at Twin Farms for another extraordinary stay.

This is an amazing place for an adult foodie get away. We booked another trip immediately upon returning home.

I would not recommend staying here if:
-You want a lively party atmosphere
-You don't drink (not that you wouldn't enjoy it, but almost all the wine/cocktails (which are good, not cheap) are included... so if it was me and I didn't drink, I think I would feel like it wasn't a good value

this review is a little delayed- we stayed for a quick honeymoon in October 2019. based on the other reviews we found here and the price our expectations were very high. We found our stay to be great but not quite what we expected.
The food was amazing, our room was excellent, and anything we asked for was provided. We filled our time up with plenty of activities, including a bike ride, some hiking, and shopping, as well as massages in our room. We enjoyed it all.
We stayed in Dorothy's room which was cozy and absolutely exceeded my expectations- we loved the room! and the bed was very comfortable!

What we found to be lacking was any type of personalized service. We are pretty easy going, parents of 5 kids. We aren't really the type to ask for much, and I think to get the extra special service here that is exactly what you have to do. Ask. We had to search for service several times, for a drink for example. We actually gave up waiting for someone to come serve a drink at the bar in the main building, and we never saw anyone serving in the bar either. I did see other guests receiving excellent service and I have to assume they are just skilled at demanding service, which perhaps we were a little too laid back to property track down. I have however stayed at far less expensive places where the service was far more attentive, and personalized.
Overall, it was an enjoyable trip but not likely one we will repeat.

As others have noted, the priorities at Twin Farms have shifted from being a unique guest experience to one of expansion and dilution of services to maximize profit..

As a multiple time repeat guest I have been witness to these unfortunate changes, which I first noticed in 2020 when management decreed that house keeping would not be doing laundry “because of covid” even though they didn’t bristle at changing the bed sheets. Then came the expansion plans to knock down trees to add more guest cottages and an additional dining room to feed them at the expense of eliminating the charming game room, “Twigs", which was an ode to the founder of Twin Farms, Thurston Twig-Smith. Twin farms also now requires reservations for dinner and encourages tipping (even though advertised as all inclusive). The end result is the transformation of a once charming, personal experience, which had soul to one of a hum drum over priced corporate hotel hatched by private equity.

So sad…

My wife and I stayed here for our 9th Anniversary and really could not have been more impressed. With 3 little kids at home, we don’t get much time alone and it rivaled our honeymoon in Bora Bora. We had a small hiccup with our room and the team bent over backwards to make sure we forgot about it. The service, food, activities and setting created an atmosphere that had us wondering if we were in an alternate reality! We will be back soon.

My husband and I just returned from 3 nights at Twin Farms. It was wonderful from start to finish. The grounds are beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. We rarely saw other guests, except at dinner- which was perfect for us. The private picnic spots are part of what really sets this place apart. Each day we'd place a picnic lunch order and hike to a different secluded, beautiful location where everything was waiting for us. Those who preferred could be driven to their picnic spot. There are many and varied activities to enjoy if you want to be active and plenty of shared or private spaces to choose to nap or relax if you prefer.
We stayed in the farmhouse- our room was lovely, the bathroom is large and well appointed. Art all over the resort is ecclectic and interesting.
The service here is excellent, without being stuffy. The staff are friendly, and accomodating.

We had a delightful stay at Twin Farms this September. As a group of four (two couples). We stayed in Washington's room and Dorothy's room.

The location of the property is pretty remote (which is part of the beauty of the place), so you will almost certainly have all meals on the property, and that's to your benefit. We used the bikes and enjoyed a wonderful ride through the countryside. My sister-in-law took part in the painting activity, and there were plenty of other activities available: scavenger hunts, puzzles, hikes...

I'm usually wary of dining options at inclusive places but both restaurants and all meals were absolutely terrific. The concierge had us complete our food preferences in advance and they tailored each meal to our personal requests.

I personally preferred the rooms and suites in the main lodge to the newer treehouses because it felt like an authentic experience from the original farm. The treehouses are newer and beautiful and adjacent but not connected to the property

The contemporary art was interesting and fun to browse along with the old books.

Just before departure at breakfast, the waiter asked us if we would like lunch for the road, and we took four yummy sandwich bags, which came in handy on our drive to NYC.

I absolutely recommend Twin Farms for a remote Vermont Getaway!

Our three night stay at Twin Farms was wonderful. The beauty of the place and the quality of service live up to the reviews.
We stayed in the main house, which had cell service and internet without issues.
Each member of the staff was great. They pampered us, but not in a smothering way. Katie in the dining room felt like an old friend by the time we left; her service was flawless. Morgan served up some fantastic wines, (each with a bit of information about the grape, vintage, etc.)
Every meal is plentiful and gourmet. At dinner, we sat sat down to and did not have to make any choices- the food just arrived, paired wonderfully with Morgan’s wine selections. Joey and Rachel were great in the restaurant as well. They sent us off with a picnic basket with a bottle of wine to enjoy by the fire – which, was super fun to be bundled up sipping wine by the outdoor fire while it was snowing.
Hanging out in the “Japanese’s Furo” was relaxing but The Pub was our favorite place to hang out. It has a juke box and pool table, etc.. We put on some football to watch while playing pool.
We like the fact that the use local/VT artisans and merchants to add to the experience. The “Johnson Woolen Mills” fleece lined wool throw blanket and the “Stave” puzzle was something to remember, as well.
