Just imagine, a family campground set on over 200 acres in the heart of Miramichi. An idyllic country setting amidst towering pines bordering the scenic Black River. Explore our forest and river trails, fish , kayak, take a swim in the pool or just relax on our spacious lawns. Stay in one of our two bedroom cottages, full hook up sites or 'rough it' in a premium un-serviced site. Sleep with the birds perched 12 feet up in one of our tree houses. Less than ten minutes to shopping and restaurants our property is remote enough to be a welcome break from urban life, but close enough to enjoy the culture and flavours of Miramichi. We offer a get-away that is just what you’ve been looking for.

We booked the “lobster trap”/meadows tree house for 1 night for myself, my husband & our two kids. We thought it would be a unique stay for part of our vacation. We arrived & check in was easy. However, the treehouses have 0 air conditioning — we even brought a fan because it was 32° that day and it was so stuffy & hot you truly couldn’t breathe. We went for a swim & ate the dinner we brought. We went back to the treehouse & decided we seriously could not stay here overnight. We checked out after 2 hours. No refund available, not even a partial refund. We chalked it up to an expensive lesson learned. Stay here in the fall or if you’re a lizard.

Great place for kids and those who want to get away. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, the tree-houses are pretty cool, and there are lots of activities for kids. There is a pool although we didn't use it. All-in-all a great experience for families

First the good. We rented a tree house for two nights. The tree house, private bathroom and shared showers were very clean and well maintained. The price was also very reasonable at just under $200 for two nights.
Now, the bad. This campground has so many rules that it ruins your stay. We often camp near places that we have family or friends and they come visit. This campground only allows you to have two visitors at a time, so our friends with two kids could not come visit us. Also, visitors have to leave by 8pm. Quiet time, like every other campground begins at 11, so not sure why they must leave so early. They sell firewood at the office (which is great), but as a family picking sticks and such out of the woods is something our kids enjoy doing. Can't do this at this campground unless you want to pay an extra $20. Although some other reviewers mentioned they had ice, they did not this weekend, so we had to drive into town several times to pick some up. The playground is nothing to write home about (4 swings, a Little Tykes slide for toddlers and a set of monkey bars. After the initial excitement of the tree house wore off, my oldest who is six was quite bored until she met some other kids to play with. There was nothing to entertain her except other kids. The owners are not friendly at all, and it makes me wonder why they are in the business. They did not even ask how our stay was when we left. They also have no one at the office quite frequently and therefore have to page them. They also have no one at the office after 6:30 at night. One other thing, although at the entrance there is a sign that says "please drive slow" my son who is two came very close (within inches) of getting hit by a truck, that according to the driver, was "only" going around 25km/h. Signs need to be posted with a concrete speed limit. We could have lost our son because some people do not realize that in a campground the limit is usually somewhere between 5-10.

Owners are cold and Nosy. They even threaten us in front of our kids. They really know how to ruin a vacation! I WOULDN'T GIVE MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER BECAUSE THEY MIGHT CHARGE YOU FOR ALL KINDS OF RANDOMS THINGS. Make yourself happy and book somewhere else. Atfter all the tree house won't make up your bad experience.
I'll allready expect them to reply and denied everything like they did in the other reviews. It's up to you to make you own mind set off this situation :)

First off, great facilities. This is a unique fantastic place from that stand point. Second, if you want to have zero fun well this is the place for you. Owners are very unwelcoming and always watching every move you make. From reading all of the reviews on here the owners don't want to own any of the bad reviews. You are in denial if you don't think you need an attitude adjustment. Will never stay here again even with the potential it may have. We were the only family here on this weekend. Without us you would of never made a penny.

While on a trip to Miramichi to go tubing, my 2 friends and myself decided to find a place to crash after a long day. We called Camping Miramichi, and even on the phone the staff seemed rude and as though we were inconveniencing them to be going there. We asked if they had vacancies and from being tired and assuming this was our last option, when they said they had a vacancy available we drove there, arriving minutes before they were to close.
The staff was EXTREMELY rude to us and acted as though we were imposing and went on to tell us, more than once when quiet hours were and how "very strict" they were with enforcing it.
The sites were FAR too close together, the service was awful and the staff was very unfriendly.
When quiet hours began, someone towards the front of the establishment YELLED that it was time to be quiet. Shortly after, our neighbouring campers, began to have loud sex, making my fellow campers and myself very uncomfortable.
Not to mention the heavy flow of traffic while we were trying to sleep. Slamming doors etc.
I will NOT be returning to this campsite, and advise everyone else to follow my example.
The staff/owners were the WORST part of our visit.
Not to mention the blood on the womens bathroom floor.

Our staff are far from rude on the phone and like any business we are hardly going to turn down a new customer. We have an 11 pm quiet time which we enforce here allowing a weary traveller to get a decent nights rest. We don't tolerate parties, loud music or similar disturbing noises after that time. WE DO NOT YELL FROM THE FRONT THAT IT IS QUIET TIME, either. We respectfully walk around and ask people to respect their neighbour who may be trying to sleep. We are hardly in a position to control the sound level of peoples' passion and being a small campground we do not have heavy traffic here. But these people are only complaining because I asked them twice to please be quiet and respect their neighbours, who were in tents and trying to sleep. Addressing the blood on the ladies washroom....we have the cleanest washrooms in a campground...anywhere....second to none! We cannot be expected to monitor the washroom floor all day long and if someone should spill blood on the floor we will clean it immediately....once we are informed. We were never informed.

We are a family that has camped in many campgrounds around NB, PEI, NS, and by far this is the worst. We had over 10 families with us camping at this resort and after a great day tubing, we just wanted the great times to continue. Well to make it short and sheet, the owners and the workers are very rude, insulting, condescending and I could continue. The toilettes were covered with Urine and not much else at this campground. We deciding at the last minute that we were going to stay over night with our camper friends, therefore were just going to bunk with our friends. They kept pestering us about visitor time, when we needed to leave etc. Then the owner again for about the 4 time came over to ask us if we were going to stay, we said yes, then they told us they would only take 5 people per site, and we would need to pay another 35 dollars to stay. Didn't make any sense since we were staying in a camper already. After the treatment we got, we decided we were going to leave since this campground wasn't worth our time. The owner even scared my 9 year old since he was screaming and being mean to us, and she thought we had done something wrong. What made us laugh, is that NB has a fire band all over the province and there were many fires everywhere in this campground. He was more interested in making more money, then making sure fires don't start in the campground. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE and all our friends (12 campers in total) will never go back there again. We are also going to file a complaint with the better business burrow tomorrow and report this campground to the province for the fire band. NB has many campgrounds that are amazing, please do not waste your time or money on this one. I had already read the reviews before, and we aren't the only ones that have posted this. I should have listened to them.

These people were not even campers....they were visitors of campers. They came and were sponsored by their friends who had a tent trailer. When we reminded the campers that their visitors had to leave at 10pm...we were told that the visitors were staying the night. We asked them to bring their friends back, register and pay the camping fee for an additional site as we don't allow 8 people per site. Nobody returned to the office and we went and talked to them about paying a fee for camping and registering. They had no intention of paying and were not going to register. The man told me 'to get out of his face' at which time we mutually thought it best if they left. After we saw later that they and their children were still on the premises playing we called the RCMP and yhey arrived and escorted them off the property. In regards to the fire ban. The previous year we had the DNR over to the campground to appraise us as to how to allow campers to still be able to have the campfire experience even in a fire ban situation. We have followed their guidelines and do allow campers to have fires in a small area well away from the tree line. The RCMP when they arrived even acknowledged that we were doing it properly. Unfortunately events like this happen once in a while. It is unfortunate that the author of this review is not telling the truth at all. The cleanliness standards of our washrooms and pool are second to none and have even been commented on as to the fact that they should set the standard for campground washrooms! Of course we felt much better the next morning when the original campers, these people's friends, came up to our volunteer staff and apolgised for their friend's behaviour!

We camp all over the Maritimes with a group of families several times a year and never have I felt more unwelcome than at this campground.
The facilites were poor, the staff was unfriendly and we were made to feel like it was an imposition by us being there.
Members of our group were told to "shush" a number of times and the owner visited our campsite to tell us he was the owner and expected us to respect his rules (nothing had happened to warrant this: we were sitting around a campfire at the time and it was not even quiet hour yet).
We are adults and seasoned campers and are always respectful, and have never had any issues at any other campground. I have never felt more unwelcome. We will definitely not return to this campground, the area was terrific and we had a great time going river tubing but this is not a welcoming campground.

Our 11pm quiet time is welcomed by most and hated by some. We don't go around telling people to shush. we will walk around and remind people that it is after 11pm, our quiet tiem, and ask them in respect to their neighbour to be very quiet. This falls on responsive ears most of the time. If you wish to disrespect your neighbour this may not be the campground for you.

If you're looking to be greeted with a scowl, this is the place to be.
We stayed in one of the cabins. No one slept well because the mattresses were so uncomfortable.
Side note: all the mattresses, not just the ones in the cabin are awful. I've had friends stay in the tree houses who said the same thing.
Side note: it's cheaper to stay in a hotel for two nights than a tree house for two nights and you will get a better sleep because you won't have to worry about a mattress spring sticking into your boob while you sleep.
They've been over charging for the tree houses for about four years now, you'd think they could afford some new mattresses.
Anyway, back to my recent experience ...
I saw another review where they said the person on the phone was rude. Then management responded by saying they aren't rude lol. When I was checking in, the woman was on the phone with someone who was trying to cancel their reservation.
She was condescending and short with the person on the phone.
And proceeded to not acknowledge me or the other woman waiting to check in (during torrential rain).
The campground was near empty, yet I wasn't allowed to park my car in the vast field near next the the cabin -- instead had to drive to the cabin, unpack, then drive back to the front and park in the lot that was packed with all the other second vehicles of campers.
And then walk back to the cabin in the (torrential) rain. Mind, the cabin is a two minute walk, but two minutes might as well be an hour when it's torrential rain.
Their rules are one car per cabin, lot or site. Those are their rules, sure, but holy smokes, the campground was not busy by any means.
To me, bending the rules during a torrential rain storm to keep the few paying customers you actually have happy, goes a long, long way. If the campground were booked, I totally understand the one car per lot rule.
They're SUCH sticklers for the rules, yet friends of our staying in their RV were kept up all night the first night by the neighbour's radio being left on all night.
As well, there were earwigs all over the cabin... in every single room and on every single surface. Now, I understand that bugs and camping go together like eggs and bacon, but this was dirty with bugs.
I've stayed in cabins up river that are in desolate locations, that have no bugs, and especially no ear wigs in my bed.
A smile and a bit of kindness can go a LONG way.
Word of advice: you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

Went camping here and what a disaster! First off it's absolutely crazy that you are only allowed to have 2 guests visit you while you are staying in the campground, and can't have guests in for supper, NEVER will I return to this camp ground and I suggest if you plan on staying here you might as well forget about people stopping in! AND the fact that when this issue was brought up to a worker there there was no apology and just a "good enough" comment wen we said you can guarantee we won't be back! And lastly the whole campground is disgusting, bathrooms were gross and the amount of earwigs every where was nasty! I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

Check out Stonehurst near Moncton and there is also Campers City in Moncton. I think Stonehurst might be a bit more campfire friendly if you are so inclined.
Can't vouch for either but plan on staying in Stonehurst this summer for a visit to Magic Mountain.
