Let’s get two frequent complaints about this hotel out of the way first. Some have commented that it is very dated - it isn’t. Instead, we would describe it as traditional, quaint and very lovely in terms of its style, presentation and design. The only aspect that needs modernisation in our view is the shower which was certainly dated and barely adequate. The second most common complaint concerns the number of steps leading to the property. Breaking news - you cannot go anywhere in Positano without encountering many steps and/or a steep roadways and so if that presents a difficulty then the location may not be for you. The hotel provides a porter service to help with luggage upon arrival and departure. The terrace used for breakfast (and lunch/dinner) provides spectacular views as does the very large solarium. The breakfast offering was great but although the surroundings were lovely we found the dinner service somewhat overpriced and a bit ‘fussy’ for our tastes. Overall, a really love hotel in a great location.

Dear guest, thank you for your time. Very often the style other than contemporary is considered dated. This is not the case, our structure has a generational history that despite the continuous renovations tries to reserve with care. Standardizing the universe is not our goal. Having a different style from another place is what we would like to offer to our guests and for this we thank you for pointing it out. We hope to have you again in the future our our guest, we will do better.

A boutique hotel experience! Room was spotless, bed comfortable, and view was spectacular. Our room was on the fifth floor and had an amazing unobstructed view of the entire basin, all day long, sunrise to sunset! Wooden shutters are great to keep room dark in the morning. Breakfast is included, and consists of breads, croissants, baked tarts, cheeses, fruits, tomatoes & cucumbers, cold cuts, boiled eggs, fresh juices, and hot beverages . You can order other items a la carte for a fee. Keep in mind Positano is on a cliff; there are over 100 steps from the closest spot a car can drop you off to the front desk. If you have an issue going up or down steps this is not the right destination for you. Everyone here is amazing from front desk ladies, to the guys who carry the luggage up and down the steps, to Carlo and Enrico at the restaurant. Entire staff is courteous, friendly, and professional. We hope to visit Positano again and look forward to going back to this hotel.

Our party of 3 enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay at this hotel. Our clean and comfortable rooms had a spectacular view, both day and night. Breakfast is served on the terrace and additional choices are available for a reasonable charge. Yes, there are alot of steps to enter, but very able bodied porters were available to assist with luggage. The water we were offered upon check-in cooled us off as well. This was my first trip to Italy and Positano and I can't wait to return to both. I will definitely book this hotel again -- the views and location were wonderful.

Parking is 60 EURO per night and you don’t have any other options to park!!! Yes SIXTY Euro PER DAY!!!

Room have no windows… There is a set of balcony door that you can open to use as windows but when you do open those doors, it’s a public space (hotel restaurant with people sitting down and eating) right in front of you. So you have literally no privacy what so ever if you open those doors.
If you need privacy, then you have to be in the dark room with no windows. It literally felt like we were in jail when we closed those doors.

Room had a towel rack that supposed to warm up but it doesn’t work- when you turn it on, it even gets more wet.

You need climb up so many stairs to get to this hotel so if you are older, have problem walking up and down loooong steps everytime you wanna leave the hotel or come back to the hotel, or disabled, THIS IS NOT your hotel!!!
You will be out of breath by the time you get to the hotel entrance even if you are young and fit if you don’t take any breaks going up.

If you want to walk to the town, it’s about 20 mins walk but there is a bus if you aren’t up for long walk.
Highlight of our stay was the breakfast with beautiful view. That’s all.

Dear Rurina we thank you for your time. We are sorry that you did not enjoyed your accomodation . The room you reserved is a family room, very popular with families with children who can stay in the evening on the terrace even if the children sleep. The room has a small terrace with tables and chairs, from your description it seems it was an internal room. We are sorry but with the air conditioning activated you cannot activate the heated towel rail because it creates condensation. Positano is called and famous all over the world as the vertical city. We're sorry you weren't as well informed as it were structured. The most beautiful and characteristic structures are found between the stairs. Positano is not just the beach but it is a perched town that descends towards the sea. Who comes to this place to appreciate it must accept it as it is. Perhaps you expected a more comfortable location .. Sorry Positano is not, but it is much more. We thank you to appreciate the splendid view and the breakfast served on the terrace overlooking the sea. We hope to have you again as our guest. We will do for better. Warm regards

We had a deluxe double room with sea view on the 3rd floor. The views of the harbor and city were amazing from our balcony! Our room was clean and tasteful. The bathroom was a little tight but shower was nice. As others have said, there are many steps (about 100) from the road to the hotel entrance but that is not unusual in Positano. Porters carried the luggage so no issues for us. There are lots of steps throughout the entire Amalfi Coast so be prepared! Included breakfast was basic continental fair, you can pay extra for hot breakfast. It was fine for us. We didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner. They do have a small bar. We had a car and were directed to a specific garage which was fine. However, when I booked the hotel the site said it would be around 50 Euros/day and it was 70 Euros/day! My only real complaint is the WIFI was terrible which is frustrating when you are trying to research restaurants, tours, etc. Staff was fine, efficient but not overly friendly.

Terrible Service and hotel old dated!

We stayed recently in this hotel for a special holiday with my family.
We reserved two rooms and during the reservation the hotel confirmed to assign us two rooms close each others; After our arrival we got two rooms on different floors. We tried to get another solution on the same floor but we had to pay for an upgrade!!!
The hotel has very old rooms with obsoled design; the funrishings were absolutely wornout;
In the toilette there were old and noisy water pipes; The daily room rate was extremely expensive and we felt disappointed for the poor service. Then the steps! There are really many steps to go up to the hotel . It is really difficult to get out everyday. It was really frustrating every time we had to go out for tours and excursion. It is very very very difficult to accept all these steps to move around! They had to describe perfect with pictures or videos the entrance with so many steps to inform people
In Positano there are a lot of steps every where if you choose this place you must know but an hotel should to be more comfortable!

The views from the Terrace and upper floors, along with the food and restaurant staff were excellent. Obviously most places on the Amalfi coast are on a steep hill to get such wonderful views and a few steps we were expecting but not 224 (no lift) so if you’re a bit older and have difficulty with a lot of steps you’d be best advised to think carefully. I don’t know what we’d have done without the exceptionally strong porter who carried our bags for us. Our room was nice enough in itself and the cleanliness was excellent however we did have an initial problem with getting hot water which was sorted quickly but it became clear that the shower sealant was inadequate and water streamed out all over the bathroom floor making it slippery and in need of a large amount of mopping up every time you took a shower. (The hot water seemed to be operated via the shower head not the normal controls so every day is a school day!) The hotel staff said sorry but clearly weren’t surprised. We were on the lower or lowest floor with just a window, the beautiful view being obscured by a large gas or oil cylinder on the roof of a property below. We were a tad disappointed and underwhelmed.
Would have given 5 stars for the terrace, views, food and restaurant staff but only 3 for the rest of our experience.

Dear Sally, we thank you for your beautiful dedication and for considering our facility a 5-star hotel. What you saw from the room, but very far from it, is only an accumulation of water in case of drought, which unfortunately cannot be managed by the hotel as it is not our property. The standard room does not enjoy the same view as the higher room type category which are positioned on the highest floors. Luckily we don't have any hot water problems. The shower is a simple shower whose shower head can adjust the flow, if you inadvertently turn it closing it unfortunately the water does not come out, but just turn it towards the opposite side. We would like you to come back and visit us soon, you will find some wonderful news. See you soon

Unethical staff. Made us pay for a more expensive room, but kept us in an entry-level room. Justified charging us more by saying "they did us a favor by keeping us in the same room so we didn't have to move". Was not told that by staying in the same room we would be charged the premium room rate. I would not recommend this hotel to any tourists, feels like they take advantage of foreigners.

Dear guest, we are sorry to read your comment, your reservation included a room change for the last night. Since from your arrival and almost every morning you approached the desk asking to avoid the room change. The hotel unfortunatley was fully booked and we could not have done otherwise. To avoid you to re-pack the bags as your request, we left you in the same room and accommodated the new customers in what was supposed to be your room at no extra charge. If you asked us not to pay the supplement for the superior room, unfortunately we could not have satisfied your request. We had no other availability. We work with passion and enthusiasm to satisfy the requests of all our guests. Tourists are always welcome guests. We are truly sorry, that you thought that we take advantage of them. Without their presence we do not exist. Tourists are our life.

One of the harder reviews I have written as I wanted to be sure when I review a hotel that I get a good idea of what the standards are for the location. For example Positano is built on the side of a mountain and far from most modern conveniences. That being said I would never stay here again. While I can appreciate that this hotel might once have been perfect it is in a slow state of needing updates and things to be refreshed. I paid for an upgraded room w a jacuzzi on the balcony. Not worth it. The jacuzzi kept draining the water. It was also clear the temp settings needed to be fixed as it just would get warm. I mentioned this to the hotel along with the hot water in our shower that came and went. No real concern to fix these things. The food was basic. But nothing exceptional. There balcony really could also be more private. I’ve stayed in better private suites in the jungles of Costa Rica and had much hotter water and more privacy even with rooms situated right next to each other. Overall this is mid level hotel that is simply overpriced. But the next level in Positano is going to cost about 30% more. If you can afford it. Try something in the 1700/night range. I think we paid 1100 ish. Had I paid 600 ish I would have been able to accept it.

Do note the staff was friendly and helpful. I think the major issues of this hotel are beyond their control. And with, as others have said, such a solid and Long walk to get to the hotel it’s just not worth it overall.

We booked a room for three people (larger room) which was to include the larger balcony however we were stunned when we arrived and the room was extremely small with a TINY balcony. We explained it was not the room we reserved and we were met with blank stares and inaction. The room itself was lacking in every amenity one would expect for the price such as the basics: only one outlet so we had to unplug our lamp, no tissues, no water bottles, no place for luggage, no towels for three people, not even a coffee or hot water pot. The bathroom door did not open all the way, it hit the toilet. We were so disappointed and will never consider this place again. Rude staff at reception/front desk and way overpriced meals at the restaurant (literally 4 gnocchi as an entree). There are much better choices in this area!! We felt taken advantage of.

Dear guest we are sorry to read your feedback . The triple room is for a couple with child , if you are looking for a spacious accomodation you must book 2 separate rooms. In the hotel confirmation was indicated the room reserved. In the room you had minibar with water and drinks too, we are sorry you did not saw it. The bar was open 24 hours, from the room you could call the bar they will bring to your room. Our staff are always welcome to all our guests and try to satisfy all guests requests in the best way. We are sorry that your feeling was different and we apologize. We hope to do better next time if you will give us a new chance.
