Disney's Wilderness Lodge garners accolades for its spotless rooms and efficient transportation services that add a sprinkle of Disney magic to guest experiences. The hotel's atmosphere and location are repeatedly praised for their picturesque qualities, although opinions on the decor's charm are mixed. While the array of amenities and views of Magic Kingdom fireworks are highlights, some guests feel the dining options and pool features fall short. Service is consistently commended; however, the value proposition divides guests, with some questioning the pricing relative to quality.

We have stayed over at many of the hotels in DisneyWorld and each ahs it's own charm but this one has a couple of cool things going for it. First is the way the hotel looks. It is a large lodge that looks as if it were made with gigantic Lincoln logs. It has an impressive lobby/atrium with carved totems, a big fireplace and a restaurant right as you walk in. There's a store with plenty of Disney items as well as some food items that could be heated or cooked right in your room, (depending on your room's amenities).

The place is large and offers a great pool area. When it's time to head up to the Magic Kingdom, you do so by boat and not bus which adds to the whole Lodge/outdoorsy theme. If you are going to head out to any of the other parks, there's a bus stop at the front of the hotel specially designed for the such.

Among one of my favorite things was not having to visit the check-in desk coming into the hotel. Your magic band has all the information and as soon as your room is ready, they will let you know via text and you can just head to it and open the door using the band. We checked-in and checked-out without ever having to stand in any line or talk to anyone at all. It was cool as it saved a lot of time.

If there's something I didn't like was the fact that the restaurant closes at 2:00pm and not open back until dinner time. I figure during peak times (like the Holidays), that the restaurant would be open all the day from early morning to late at night. We wanted to have a late lunch just to find it closed which it bothered me. I wish they would rethink that practice during peak days.

Other than that, the hotel is full of atmosphere and sits away from the rest which is very nice indeed. Even the entrance to it when you come up in your car feels like you're entering a national park and not a hotel in Disney. I highly recommend this one.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge is my absolute favorite spot here at the Walt Disney World Resort and I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay! Everything about this location reinforces the feeling you've escaped to the Pacific Northwest and I can't help but relax as I turn the corner and enter the property. As you mentioned, it's just amazing how quickly the change in the landscaping transports you as you arrive on the scene. I am sorry you weren't able to enjoy that late lunch you wanted. While Whispering Canyon does have a downtime each day so they can prepare for the next meal service, you'll find some great options mid-day at both Geyser Point Bar & Grill and Roaring Fork. We look forward to welcoming you home again for another stay and hope to see you real soon! Ginny Disney Social Reviews

We revisited Wilderness Lodge in early March when the crowds were non-existent and pretty much had the pools to ourselves. The resort is really beautiful, especially the lobby, and like every other Disney property it's well-maintained. We loved being able to take the boat directly to Magic Kingdom and from there get onto the monorail or other transportation to pretty much every other WDW location. Definitely worth going back.

We stayed here late July 2021 and WL saved our trip after a really disappointing Polynesian stay (and these rooms were half the cost of the Poly!) We did have a ground floor nature view room which wasn’t my favorite, but there was no way to request higher floors in the app which would be a nice add. But good way outweighed the bad. There were always seats at pool, the geyser was going off hourly again which is fun. Bell services promptly arrived with our bags that had been transferred from Poly and picked them up within minutes on departure. We had a *little* hiccup with quick service mobile order at Geyser Point but not taking off points bc though it was frustrating, the manager fixed it for us while we were onsite which is all we needed. Absolutely amazing professional service from Josh at Geyser Point bar. The boys loved Gus Gus’ antics at Whispering Canyon. If you are going, I’d read the website carefully so you are aware of current housekeeping protocol, we were prepared but it does feel odd to be taking out the trash at a deluxe resort. The arcade room was still a popular hit with the kids, it’s well maintained and clean and even after a Disney day the kids loved hitting up the games that are all reasonably priced. This was my second Wilderness Lodge stay and I thank the cast members for redeeming our view of Disney Resorts.

While I'm truly sorry Disney's Polynesian Village was a disappointment for your recent stay, it is nice to know you found comfort and relaxation with us here. You certainly rolled with any snags that came your way and that's much appreciated as we continue to work through such situations with our Guests. I'm delighted to know that our Leadership and Cast Members, like Josh and Gus Gus, made Disney's Wilderness Lodge feel like your home away from home. Please rest assured that your review, compliments, insights, and all, has been received by Resort Leadership as well. With such tranquil luxury awaiting you, I'm sure we'll see you again soon! This was our first trip to Disney, traveling with my husband and 11 year old son. We stayed for 7 nights at the Wilderness Lodge in room 2017, an "upgraded" courtyard facing room with a queen bed and twin bunk beds. We are not Disney people, and wanted to experience a deluxe resort to make this the most memorable trip possible. When traveling we typically stay in high end/luxury hotels, so it was my expectation that the Wilderness Lodge would be in this category. It is not.

Our room was tiny, dingy and dated. The carpet was dirty, with crumbs/food from previous guests visible on the floor when we checked in. There are several extra phone jacks in the room in case you brought a giant desktop phone from 1980, but no USB outlets and virtually no regular power outlets. The bathroom was also tiny and so dark, as to make showering dangerous and unpleasant. It is my understanding that some of the rooms at the lodge have been renovated, but our room clearly had not been. The room had more of an "econo lodge" feel and less of a deluxe resort feel. We were also awakened numerous times a night because we could hear all of the toilets flushing in the rooms above us.

I cannot imagine having four people in a room this small, as the three of us stumbled over each other the entire week. Fortunately we had a small balcony overlooking the pool, and this is where we would spend time after returning from the parks.

The setting for the hotel is beautiful. We ate several times at the Geyser Point Bar, which has great ambiance and great views. The food at the various restaurants was good, but as a vegetarian my options were highly limited. The staff throughout the resort is fantastically nice, polite and helpful. The pool is fine, but nothing special.

I have stayed in some of the great lodges in the national parks, and the Wilderness is similar: located in a beautiful setting, but run down and in need of updating. For the outrageous cost, I was quite disappointed by the quality of our room.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent visit with us, Heather. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the Resort as a whole and that our Cast Members were welcoming and attentive throughout your entire stay. I do want to apologize that your room wasn’t the best fit for your family. We strive to create a welcoming and carefree environment and it appears we may have missed the mark with your room. I always encourage our Guests to contact the Front Desk with any issues they may have during their stay. A Cast Member will be happy to assist in the best way they can. This hotel was a very nice one. We stayed on the ground floor of the Copper Creek DVC section after renting an owner's points to save money. There were 4 of us and we got 2 studio rooms and the hotel accommodated our room request to be across from each other. We had a snag on check-in day with the magicbands not working to open the room, but Michael the housekeeping manager was very professional and cordial with the whole situation, so kudos to him! Thanks for being a true example of Disney Magic.

Pool was lovely. Nice area with slide and hot tub, liked the lifeguards on staff. Also enjoyed taking the boat to Magic Kingdom and back. GORGOUS LOBBY! Also, if you check out and you are spending time in a park before your flight or whatever, they will stow your bags for free. Perfect so we could go to epcot and switch to universal orlando hotel.

Some things to note: If you are staying on DVC points there is no daily housekeeping which was fine for us. Also, it takes a while to get oriented with the hotel as it is HUGE! But overall, I recommend renting DVC points to stay here.

I wish I could say Disney took the pandemic serious at the hotels. They come in your room DAILY to “inspect” and touch everything gloveless and massless. I am so perplexed where other hotels are trying to prevent guest to staff contact for the safety of its guests and staff, Disney wilderness lodge encourages it. They say “contactless check in and check out” but yet they invade your privacy and safety everyday for no reason. I wish I had a valid reason given to me as to why they need to invade my privacy and contaminate my room. I am appalled and wish they could have the decency to follow the CDC recommendations for safety and social distancing.

This is a beautiful resort especially when the Christmas decorations are up. The grounds are immaculate and it provides two pools to enjoy as well as plenty of choice of restaurants and amenities including a well-stocked gift shop with snacks and groceries. The room was beautiful and we were happy to see the magic kingdom fireworks in the evening if we were back during that time.

The resort is in a great location, especially if you’re headed to magic kingdom. The only let down is that if you’re going to the park in the middle of the day, make sure to factor in an extra 15 minutes onto your journey as you’ll likely stop at fort wilderness right at the back of the campground and out again which adds quite a lot of time onto the journey.

The main drawback which seems to be echoed elsewhere is mousekeeping. We were initially asked if we’d like to opt out of this, however they’d provide no incentive to do this like they used to do in the past! We’d obviously need this as we were staying 11 days. The beds were made daily with our towels folded and kitchenette restocked with cups etc. However, with the price you’re paying, you’d expect them to do other basic things just as take out the trash and dust/sweep the room. We’d noticed just a couple of days in that the dust was really piling up around the room especially around the phone/bedside table. You’d expect more including a good thorough cleaning every couple of days and possibly turndown service if you’re staying at a hotel that costs this much.

The only other slight gripe was that the bathroom extractor fan was very loud and it took maintenance a couple of attempts to fix this.

Overall though it is a really beautiful resort in a great location for a stay at WDW.

Travelers beware Disney for your safety is entering your room daily to empty trash and check rooms for unusual activity without your permission. If it were not the pandemic I would take issue with this but after your room has supposedly been cleaned and sanitized for your safety you are going come on in and violate my privacy and safety by contaminating my room with unknown employee after i am already in.
The parks are doing great with social distancing and cleaning. Right now if you go to WDW the most dangerous place for you is in your room after the staff has done its daily entry. You are much safer stay off property or in a not Disney property.

Walt Disney World, Florida
We're currently staying at The Beautiful Wilderness Lodge in WDW. This is our 23rd stay on Disney property and our 13th stay at The Wilderness Lodge.

I would love to say we're enjoying our 13th stay here, but the decline in standards is appalling.

Despite my constant requests for housekeeping services, they simply don't do what they promise (Chris, remember what you said you'd do).

To be charging $500+ a night and not give housekeeping is quite simply disgusting. We've not had a floor swept in 11 (eleven) days, our bath has been cleaned once and people are dumping their rubbish in overflowing public waste bins that lie uncollected. Someone put 4 wine glasses outside their room 3 days ago, they're still there in the corridor.

The lack of respect shown to guests with regard to housekeeping should be shameful to Disney, but the management here appear not to care. Don't get me wrong, they say all the right things, but do nothing.

Disney have contracted out bus services to the park without guaranteeing basic safety standards. We had to disembark from a bus to Epcot yesterday evening as we were concerned for our safety.

The industrial noise around the pool every afternoon, that I was assured would be for 1 hour for 2 days, has actually been all afternoon on all 11 days we've been here so far.

As a lover of Walt Disney World and the Wilderness Lodge, I write this with a heavy heart, but the quite appalling drop in standards here along with other park related issues mean I'll not be bringing my family back here.

The wilderness lodge has always been one of my favorite places to visit at Disney World, as it's beautifully maintained and it reminiscent of the lodges you might find out west. We really enjoyed the pool, although small comparatively to other disney pools, it has a fun water slide, 2 whirlpools, and a nice kiddie splash area. The copper creek flowing into the pool is a nice touch as well.

Yes, you may ride the bus or the boat to the Magic Kingdom. One important note about the boat, upon exiting the boat at the Magic Kingdom, there is a security baggage checkpoint, which is separate from the main entrance security checkpoint, which is very convenient due to it being much less crowded.
