In a city with so much to offer that there is no time to lose.Stay in the centre, facing Marquês de Pombal, with Avenida da Liberdade, Lisbon's downtown and Bairro Alto very closed. With access provided by the entire public transportation network at its front step, in this hotel you do not need a personal vehicle, an advantage in leisure as well as work trips. And if it is easy to arrive and leave, the good part is staying. The HF Fénix Lisboa is a space of great comfort, where you will want to spend your time. Besides the room offer adequate for different tastes and needs, this hotel has excellent social and leisure areas, such as the City Garden Lounge. You can enjoy free Internet access in all areas of the hotel, as well as several other services thought out especially for you to feel at home.

Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We have been staying for a week and on quite a few occasions was working from the hotel. Stayed at level 3 and it was very quite considering the hotel is next to a main road. The WiFi network was also solid for remote work and the room had a wallhinged table and moveable round table which was helpful. The mattress was very comfy.
The hotel staff very very helpful and kind and allowed us for an earlier check-in at 11am after our arrival, eventhough we didn't request it before hand. All the receptionists are very nice. There was an issue with shower tap and after informing it to the reception isn't was attended and fixed immediately.
Rui who helped us to take luggages to our room was also very helpful in providing information about areas.
The breakfast buffet was awesome with many main items and also with sweet dessert collection. The dessert collection mostly changed daily. Nelson (breakfast area staff) was very friendly and welcoming and catered extremely well to our special dietary requirements. Joel from the breakfast staff was also very kind and helpful to look after us at the breakfast.
The hotel room was spacious and relatively renovated, and room service was carried out everyday, eventhough we didn't use it all the days.
Overall, it was top notch service by all the staff members in the HF Fenix Lisboa and we loved our stay.

I have just returned from a very disappointing stay at the HF Fenix Lisboa hotel. The hotel is very centrally located in the city, and the city is so easy to navigate with many transport options and the city is full of beautiful architecture and history. On booking we had requested a 2nd floor room with a city view. On check in we got a 3rd floor room with a wonderful view of the local roof tops.( I know you do not always get what you request due to bookings etc). I have food intolerances and requested Gluten free & Lactose free options for breakfast. On the first morning at breakfast I looked for the Gluten free options the staff members looked blankly at me, no one seemed to know where it was, eventfully I got some from a very efficient guy who knew what I was talking about. The second morning I was given a mug of steaming HOT MILK from a frothing machine and a roll & croissant still in its plastic wrapper also steaming hot, when it cooled sufficiently to open it, it was like rubber and I was expected to eat this. This is not the expected service from a 4 star hotel. Fenix Lisboa you have a lot to learn about presentation and how to treat customers with eating disorders. I have stayed in many hotels and this is NEVER a problem. There is not a great lot of choice for breakfast either. On the 3rd day I was given cake for breakfast ( I suppose it was a safer option than steaming rubber rolls!! ) Breakfast seems to be a chaotic time of the day there, with everyone running around but nobody getting anywhere at the end of it. I also appreciate we are living in very challenging times with Covid and it is very difficult on everybody, but it only takes a little organisation to get it right, so many others do it successfully. There was a very nice older man working in the bar who understood my gluten free difficulty with no problem ,I had some bar food there one evening and he was so understanding. There is also a very limited selection of drinks in the bar, only 30ml bottles of beer in case anyone would be looking for pints of beer. Lisbon is a very beautiful city with lots to see and do and thankfully there are very many hotels to choose from. I will definitely return to visit Lisbon in the future but I would NEVER recommend or stay in the HF Fenix Lisboa again.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at HF Fenix. This hotel is situated in a great location, right opposite the starting point for the sightseeing buses the metro was less than 50m. We had a room on the 8th Floor with a balcony. Room was spacious, comfortable with a great shower. We were room only but did order breakfast to the room one morning for a birthday. A great breakfast was delivered and we were told as one of us was celebrating a birthday it would be complimentary along with a bottle of champagne. Thank you so much this was very kind. Every member of staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly throughout. We will be recommending this hotel to friends and aim to return in the summer.

The room is clean, sizeable and comfortable. The staff is helpful and friendly. The complimentary toiletries, sewing and shaving kits are available at the counter upon request. The complimentary breakfast is awesome with wide variety and menu changes a little from one day to the next. Location is not in the city centre but there is a metro station less than 5 mins walk away. It was a very enjoyable stay.

I booked a room in HF Garden and only while heading to my room did I found out that I was in HF Lisboa... Booking.com and HF hotels website do not warn customers that only HF Lisboa is open for business due to Covid. After the first shock, while hanging a towel and then trying to have a shower did we realised that the hotel was crumbling. After complaining, we were "upgraded" to another room - bigger but almost as bad as the other one, including a bathroom door that was too big for its frame - by the senior staff. Even the sparkling water in the minibar was dead! Breakfast was a noisy and unpleasant experience in the days when a patronising and loud member of the staff was present. HF Garden is dearly missed! Covid is no excuse for such incompetence and one would think that without (many) customers it would be the perfect time to make some minor works and improve the place? HF Garden, we miss you! HF group, do update your website and state plain and clear that one can only book for HF Lisbon! Disgraceful!

Response from HF Hotels, Diretor-Geral at HF Fenix Lisboa
Responded Nov 16, 2020
Dear guest, Thank you very much for your review, which deserved our utmost attention. We are very disappointed to realize that we have not been able to meet your expectations. However, due to the pandemic situation, we were forced to take some last minute resolutions. In this particular case, we upgraded your reservation to our hotel HF Fénix Lisboa, a four star hotel with a superior category than the hotel you iniatilly booked. Even so, we are truly sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused to you. We hope to welcome you back soon! Kind Regards, Carolina Bragança Operations Manager

The hotel is clean and well maintained as is the room.
It's a lovely walk along the Avenida da Liberdade to the City Centre (provided it's not raining)
The Cons
The hotel is very corporate so it's lacking the comfort factor needed for a holiday break. Our room was quite small with 2 single beds, a mini fridge, shower, toilet and only 1 chair. Very limited TV channels.
We were asked if we wanted breakfast at 12 euros per person but we had to pay for the 3 days. I explained to the receptionist that we had a 3am pick up on our last day so would therefore miss breakfast. I was advised that we could have 2 breakfasts then but the cost would be 17 euros per person. We refused on principal.
It's a good half hour (to 45 minute) walk to the city centre (and front)
It's a half hour walk to and from the nearest shop.
There's metro stations nearby but very difficult to use the electronic ticket machine. A 'ticket tout' helped us for a little extra charge from the city centre. We were just glad for the assistance to get us back to our hotel. We tried to get a metro back from the main square the next day but again had the problem with the machine. A member of staff refused to help and just pointed us in the direction of the ticket office where there was only one person working and a long queue of people. We managed to get a taxi costing 7 euros but again we were just glad to get back to the hotel.
We had a fabulous time exploring Lisbon nevertheless but I'd definitely recommend a hotel more centrally positioned.

We stayed two nights in Lisbon and were fortunate to stay at the HF Fenix. While this is one of the older hotels in this part of Lisbon, the property has been maintained. The furnishing in our room were in great shape, the bed was huge. Fixtures in the bathroom were modern and in great working order.
The included breakfast had many hot and cold options while the coffee choices were plentiful.

My partner and I decided to stay at the HF Fenix Lisboa hotel for 7 nights and we did not regret it. The hotel is very centrally located, with spacious, clean rooms. We had a room overlooking the beautiful Praca Marques de Pombal and it was a delight to watch the start of the day every morning from the window. All the amenities we needed were in our room.
The breakfast room is very inviting, as is the vast selection of food and drinks offered. Everything was fresh, tasty and of great quality ... there was so much to choose from. This experience was enhanced even more by the waiting staff who were all so friendly and efficient. I feel I have to give a special mention to Caterina who made sure that everything went smoothly and to Nelson who was like a bright lightshow ... greeting everyone, smiling and giving out good vibes. He has a special character which, in this day and age, is hard to find.
I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly and want to thank the management and staff for making our stay so special. We look forward to staying there again soon. Lisbon is a wonderful city.
Lots of best wishes.

Stayed on our first trip to Portugal for three nights and were very satisfied. It is located just outside the central city main tourist area and has bus and metro stops within yards of the entrance. The service was excellent and started at checkin. After asking a question concerning COVID testing for our return home, the desk clerk called and made the arrangements at a nearby pharmacy. The room was very clean and equipped properly. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet for a good nights sleep. The breakfast was a buffet which was served and consisted of a variety of warm and cold food items. I would stay again if ever in Lisbon again.

This hotel was recommended to us by friends. So pleased they did. Lovely room, fantastic breakfasts and in a great position for public transport to anywhere in the city.
Lisbon is a fantastic place to visit. Transport is cheap. All transport is only 1 euro 50 for a journey. This includes travel on buses, trams, metro and boats. This is the cost to get from the airport into the city too.
Visit the waterfront for a great array of eating places and things to see.
