This is an outstanding property, it is a great choice. Our accessible Kitchenette looked exactly like the picture, it was immaculately clean, and had nicely updated doors, bathroom, window coverings, stone counters and concrete terrazzo style floor. Kitchen area thoughtfully designed, and was appointed with everything we needed : dishes ,cutlery, cutting knife and board, kettle, toaster, mini 4 cup (?) coffee maker (I would bring your own favorite coffee though), spatula, serving spoon, dish cloth towels soap and dish drying counter mat, ice bucket, fry pan, 2 sizes of pots, wire cart to store your groceries and use as work space and dish towel rod, broom and dustpan, ironing board (iron? didnt notice if had) and adjacent bathroom was a huge storage closet area (for example you could store your bikes in there),
garbage and recycle bins under cabinet, small new kitchen sink, 1 burner cooktop, hot pad for counter, mini fridge with freezer, large work counter, and a 2 person long dining table and chair set.
I did not notice if there were wine glasses! LOL.You should always travel with your own :) ;)
Our suite and the ones on either side of us had a small bistro patio table and 2 chairs outside nice for morning coffee, and I am not a smoker, but do note they permit it out there, but they have "butt stops" those tall recepticles for smokers to put there butts in, so it is kept very tidy, and beautiful flower planters too. We could park right outside our door.
The ladies who checked us in were friendly, knowledgable, thorough, and approachable..everything you want. Plus they used a COVID19 contactless method to check us in and out. Everything we wanted and needed!

Hi Mik97531, Thank you for such a detailed list of what the Deluxe Queen Suite has to offer! Those rooms are truly lovely and offer pretty much everything that a person needs for a short or a long stay. There is an iron in the room, it is just hidden on the shelf behind the door in the roomy bathroom. As for wine glasses we do have some in the office that we can provide to guests as well as a wine opener. We try to make a guests stay away from their own home as comfortable as possible so if there is ever anything that you need to make your stay a little more like home please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you again for staying at Nature's Inn Kenora and writing us a wonderful review! All the best!

I stayed here on a 2 day fishing trip to Lake of the Woods. Another individual had made the reservations, so I was not aware of this hotel in advance. I had a "deluxe" room, which had polished concrete floors (I hate carpet in hotels). The furnishings was very new and very tasteful. We could park our truck and boat/trailer right beside the building without having to unhook the truck from the trailer. We could even plug in to charge the trolling motor batteries. Everything was extremely clean. My unit had 11 foot ceilings, which was perfect for having our 10 foot muskie rods standing up in a corner of the room. The unit had a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, as well as an assortment of pots and pans and dishes.

There is a public boat launch within a half mile of the hotel, making this a perfect hotel for fishermen.

Overall, you cannot go wrong with this reasonably priced, clean, and well furnished motel. One more thing...the staff were extremely friendly as well!

Room 15 one night. The staff were friendly and when the stated rate was higher than Trivago displayed, they lowered the rate to match. The room was on the lower level facing away from the highway and very quiet. The bed was comfortable. There is no breakfast included. The hotel is in a suburb of Kenora on the west side. On a Monday evening we could not find a restarurant open nearby, other than the typical fast food; we had to drive into Kenora proper.

Thank you TravelingGlenn for taking the time to give us a rating and write us a review! Finding a solution to the lack of restaurants and delivery options for guests of Nature's Inn Kenora is definitely something that has been high on my list of things that I am trying to tackle. We hope to see you again and maybe next time we will at least have a breakfast option for you. Safe Travels!

We had a great experience! The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms had everything we needed. Although we don’t have pets, the hotel allows pets but expectations of pet owners are laid out clearly. There was a dog in the room next to our’s and there were no issues at all. We had stayed at a popular chain hotel in Winnipeg the previous night and Nature’s Way was far superior to it. I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the rooms and amenities at Nature’s Way, as I find roadside inns are often “hit and miss”. It was obvious those working at Nature’s Way care about providing good service. Thanks!

We just arrived back from Kenora having stayed at Nature’s Inn.

Wifi didn’t work, very small selection of tv channels, no glasses or mugs ( as pictures show) but rather only 4 paper coffee cups. Room was supplied with old furniture, bistro table and chairs served as dining table and there were keys to rooms rather than card keys.

People in adjoining rooms could be heard and the hotel is off the highway which is noisy! Parking lot in the back of building was not cleared of snow for its guests!

All of this for a whopping 186.00 a night!!!

Having travelled many years and stayed in several different hotels, this room is worth 79.00 NOT 186.00!!

This is a MOTEL with a hotel price!

Hi 744nucciam, We are saddened to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at Nature’s Inn Kenora. I am assuming that your reservation was made online versus giving us a call. Please be aware that the cost of rooms booked online may be listed higher then if you give us a call. We highly encourage potential guests to call us to ensure that the accommodations that we can offer suit the needs of the traveler. We have 5 different styles of rooms at different rates. We are not ashamed of the rooms that we offer to guests as we do a lot of maintenance on each room and the property. We are in the business of offering a product to thousands of people every year and everyone has different expectations and preferences so although we try to get it right for the majority of our guests, we may not meet the expectations and preferences of everyone looking for accommodation in Kenora. We never want a guest to leave unhappy so if we don’t feel that we can meet the expectations of the potential guest we encourage shopping around. Kenora is different than most other cities in Canada as it is small and pricey, from gas to groceries to accommodation, guests should expect to pay more in Kenora than in other cities in Canada. Given your comment about our location I would like anyone reading this to be aware that almost all of the hotels and motels in Kenora are located on Hwy 17 and there is also possibility that you will hear the train horn from most hotels as the railway system runs through Kenora. We do our best to keep our furniture, tables, chairs, etc. updated but as we are a small family run business, we do our room updates a few rooms at a time, so we are able to spread the cost out over time. The bistro table and chairs fit really well in the space and partially why they were chosen for that room type. We added those items to the room hoping guests would appreciate somewhere to sit and eat rather than having to eat on the bed which I am sure happens in a lot in other hotel rooms. Keys vs keycards does not indicate old it does however indicate cold. Kenora can become very cold in the winter months and when we tried to switch from keys to keycards, we ran into an issue with the keycard not working due to the weather conditions and since all of our rooms are accessible from the outside, we had to stick with good old-fashioned keys. I cannot comment on the Wi-Fi not working as we haven’t had any complaints about our Wi-Fi since we upgraded to Shaw Fibre. When guest’s check-in we do recommend that they test everything in the room including the Wi-Fi so if anything is not working correctly or something needs attention, we can address it immediately. I happened to be the person checking you in that night and you did not let me know of any issues with the Wi-Fi nor did any other guest. As for the TV channels we have found that our regular guests often travel with their own Firestick, Roku Stick, Google Chromecast, etc. and the only channels they are really interested in is weather, sports and news so we have made the decision to improve our Wi-Fi and not offer quite as many TV channels as we once did. We do offer both mugs as well as paper cups in 3 styles of rooms that we offer. The other 2 styles of rooms are standard rooms and only have paper cups. That being the case we do have a small inventory of mugs, plates, cutlery, etc. if anyone would like to borrow them for their stay regardless of what room they might be in. Front desk is not 24 hours, but we encourage guests to contact us before we close if they have any questions, concerns, or requests. Unfortunately, our rooms are not soundproof, but we do have an on-call phone number in the room binder as well as posted near the office door which can be used to report any noise complaints as everyone deserves a good night’s rest. Front desk staff are trained to make guests aware at check-in of the after-hours phone number. The plowing of the parking lot is somewhat difficult to manage as we hire a company to come and plow the parking lot for us as we do not have anyone on staff that is trained and certified to operate the equipment needed. Given that Kenora is a small town with a high demand for snow removal and plowing we must hope that they are able to get to us in a timely fashion after a snowfall. The total cost of the room that you mentioned above is with taxes and just to be clear $27.86 is strictly taxes. We merely collect taxes for the government. “Worth” is truly in the eye of the beholder. It is evident that you do not see the value in what Nature’s Inn Kenora is able to offer and we wish you luck finding suitable accommodations in the future. Again, we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience at Nature’s Inn Kenora, but we do appreciate you sharing your feedback and giving us the opportunity to respond.

This is a great place to stay. Check in was very friendly and efficient. My room was on the small side but it was meticulously clean! The room had a fridge, microwave, hotplate, kitchen sink, coffee machine, glasses, dishes, tea towels and even dish soap. The bed was clean and comfy. There was a giant TV on the wall. I will be planning to stay here every time I pass through Kenora.

Hi Mike, Yes our Mini Suites are small but efficient and at a much lower rate than our larger rooms so single travelers don't have to spend quite so much when staying in Kenora. We are so happy to know that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to see you again. Travel safe and have a great summer!

The smallest room I have every stayed in (I’ve travelled in Europe) & a huge premium $$$ attached to the rate because I was travelling with a dog. The “pet” fee they call it. Price gouging at its best. The room was 14X7 & claustrophobic. The neighbourhood was/is “in transition” & I had to remove the contents of the car into the room (common practice in Kenora). Another reason why Kenora is such an undesirable place to stay. Better options east & west on the TransCanada highway proper....never going back!!!!

Hi Y6511Frobertc, Our Mini Suites are small, and we hope that everyone that books a Mini Suite with us does understand that. These rooms are very efficient and have high ceilings and we have many guests truly enjoy them, but some do not due to the size of the room. The $25 pet fee is charged for the extra cleaning that is required after a pet has stayed in a room. Our housekeeping staff put extra time and attention when cleaning a room if a pet has been in it as it is our goal to always provide exceptionally clean rooms for all our guests. We appreciate your feedback.

On our way back to Calgary from Parry Sound, Nature's Inn was a huge relief. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and modern.
The Front Desk was very friendly and helpful. They gave us a jumpstart to the van without complaint and recommended a few solid restaurants in Kenora.
True, the hotel is on the outskirts of Kenora, but for that, the price is lower and the drive into the town is only about ten minutes.
Would solidly recommend this place.

We are travelling from Edmonton to Ottawa and are trying to be super careful about Covid threat. I spoke on the phone before booking and was assured they were taking special measures to protect customers. I agree - no complaint there - the room is basic and very clean. My only observation is the cost for the room. You will have to do your own diligence. Our very acceptable room in Regina was 1/2 the cost.
