The Renaissance Zurich Tower Hotel garners praise for its friendly service and spacious, well-designed rooms with comfortable beds, although opinions on decor and amenities are mixed, with some guests finding them dated or lacking. While the hotel's value is disputed due to inconsistent pricing and expensive services, many appreciate the breakfast variety and lounge access.
The location is noted for its convenience near Hardbrücke station, despite not being in the city center. Reviews on cleanliness vary, highlighting both immaculate and overlooked conditions.

I stayed at Renaissance hotel for 7 nights and enjoyed every moment . The hotel is about 10 minutes drive from the airport, located in an industrial area of Zurich.
The hotel staff were very warm, welcoming and attentive from the reception, restaurant staff and cleaners.
I had a room on the 8th floor with a great view of the mountains. The room was clean, spacious and quiet, the rooms are quite sound proof so I was able to get a good nights sleep without needing to wear ear plugs.
Everyday room service left a complimentary bottle of water in the room fridge which was great to not have to purchase water.
The room came with a separate toilet and bathroom and it was a good touch that the toilet had it's own sink.
You can get to the tram and train station within 5 minutes walk from the hotel and there is a Co-op convinience store neaby. From the train station, you can catch a train from Zurich Hardbrucke to Zurich Main (central) station which is just 1 stop away. It is cheaper to purchase a return ticket for 8 francs, 50 cents which allows you to return within 24hrs.
Zurich is quite an expensive city from the taxi costs to the food. The Taxi's are a standard 55 francs for a 10 minute ride from the airport. Using Uber is cheaper as it cost about 28 Francs.
Uber Eats is popular in the area and there are a lot of restaurants to order from if you choose not to dine at the hotel restaurant.
I had a great experience staying at this hotel

The Renaissance is not a quaint hotel, you won't find ornate heritage paneling or quirky touches to remind you of a small town. Yes it is a completely modern skyscraper box but it lives up to its 5 star expectations, and i was very glad i stayed here. The room is good sized, with well kept wooden floors, and nice touches like a separate toilet (with wash basin), two sliding doors to the bathroom, and a closet with a separate open compartment for coats and shoes ("outside" clothes). Every amenity was provided, though the toiletries were an assortment of old and new brands, i think the hotel is finishing its stock of the old ones. The only thing i would have added to the room is one more universal plug as the swiss three prong is not common.
The gym is on the top floor, accessible by stairs or elevator, with a great view over zurich west, plus a steam room and sauna. Nice touches. Tram stop is one block away, as is a supermarket, cafe, and other conveniences. Had i know that the Hardbrucke train station was also nearby i would have taken the train direct there from the airport instead of to the main station, which is a 25 minute walk away.
Yes the hotel is on the outskirts, and could be called modern and soulless. But it worked really well for my stay, and i loved coming back to the hotel and not having to wait for the elevator, not having hordes in the lobby (despite tour groups stopping there) and not having to wait for service.
If i return to Zurich, i'll choose the hotel again.

Stayed two nights in room 610. Room overlooked an industrial area. Room was quiet, clean and had plenty of hot water. Restaurants in the area were within walking distance, about 10-20 minutes. A CO-OP was close by, 5mins was good for snacks, etc.

I am so disappointed in Marriott group that I will never book with Marriott ever again. Your quality of standards has gone down drastically. First of all, this definitely doesn’t come up to 5* hotel standard at all. There is no concierge service to help you with your luggage. Restaurant staff is rude and not really bothered about customers. Went to have dinner, nobody served us, after twice of asking the menu and 20 minutes before anyone bothered to come to take our order (mind you restaurant had only two tables occupied, so it wasn’t busy) . Rooms are small and ac is just a fan, doesn’t cool at all. So it’s quite hot to sleep and windows don’t open. Breakfast is good, if you get there first thing when it opens, If you come after 7:30 then most of the stuff is finished and it’s really dirty, all tables are covered in dirty dishes which they don’t clean. Choices of the food are bit limited. We have stayed in Marriott previously countless times but never encountered such terrible standards by Marriott. Really overpriced for what you provide to customers. You have just lost a loyal customer.

Had a very nice stay this week. Location is great for access to airport and city. Its a few stops from ZRH airport with frequent trains every few minutes, easy 5 min walk with your bags from Harbrucke Station to the hotel. To Zurich Main station its maybe 6 stops on the tram or one on the train.
It is in the business part of Zurich, restaurants are nearby but its not a quaint/Old Town location. But the rooms are modern, larger than in Old Town and quieter. Very secure you need a key to activate button to your hotel floor.
I think it's a very good value for the price.

First l would like to commend Ms floreta for her cordial reception and help. However, the hotel staff is not aware of the titanium elite member benefits. As usual there was no room upgrade available which is the common response for more than 10 stays during the past 5 years. The hotel suffers from poor housekeeping service, some front desk staff are not helpful…the keys for the room and elevator fail to work most of the time. We had to replace keys 3 times in a 5-dat stay. The lounge food items are modest (one of the worst croissants l ever tasted in Europe) and it doesn’t measure up to reputable hotel in Zurich. Inconsistent supply of bathroom amenities. It was surprising that the bill at checkout was higher than the one quoted in the reservation. Mr. Pascal front desk supervisor asked for an additional 100 Swiss Frank to extend my checkout by 2 hours from 4 PM to 6 PM !! The hotel is pricey compared to the average amenities and service it offers.

It’s not 5 star! Very poor quality hotel! Worst experience in Switzerland, the hotel has no pool, the keys didn’t work, when we tried to call the front desk, there no one to answer phones! This “5 star” hotel didn’t even offer robs in room, we had to go to the front desk to try to get them delivered! Terrible room service menu.. The next day the room wasn’t even done, the tray with dirty dishes still sitting on table after we returned after being gone for many hours and after we purposely asked the front desk in person to have the room prepared! The woman working there even wrote our room number down! But when we returned, it was still dirty, I had to carry dirty dishes tray outside. No coffee packets refills, had to call the front desk, no cups, they remained on room service tray.. The hand fan in the bathroom doesn’t work, looks like it was made in 60s..It’s coated in hairspray from the previous guests.. Bottom line, I am counting moments till we leave tomorrow! What and awful place! We did arrive with large group, but if they were overwhelmed, it’s not an excuse for bad service! I am so disappointed!

Response from Renaissance Zurich Tower Team, Guest Services / Front Office at Renaissance Zurich Tower Hotel
Responded Aug 21, 2023
Dear kloveella, Thank you very much for your feedback. We are sorry to read that we failed to provide a home away from home. It is correct that there are certain room type that do not have a bath rope by default but we can always send on upon request free of charge. We understand that big parts of your travel group have opted for no restant cleaning. We are currently verifing if there was a miscommunication within the team and this resulted in your room not being serviced for the day. Our apologies for the shortcomings! We agree that being part of a large group should not mean you receive lesser service. Again our sincere apologies! We hope your travels went well and thank you again for having stayed with us. Kind regards

Fair price, proper AC, solid breakfast, simple room but well thought out room concept, black out curtains (mounted to the wall with Velcro tape) separate toilet, private bathroom without those silly “modern” glass separators to the bedroom which we hate for the lack of privacy. One large mattress without gaps, feather pillows, very friendly staff (Nicolas from Frontdesk made our stay exceptionally good). Quite rooms, free parking. We are happy and will come back.

I enjoyed my stay at the Renaissance Zurich Tower Hotel. It was really easy to get to with a tram (number 4) from Zurich train station which drops off behind the hotel.
Check in was really quick and I was in my room in no time. The room was good and quite large and had a good view.
The Club Lounge was open between 3pm and 10pm, which was great and they served alcohol between 5pm and 10pm. The food was not really to my taste but was there. I would have preferred more options and a choice of hot food. Staff popped in and out during the time I was there, although I did have to go and find someone to refill the red wine after it had not been stocked for over an hour.
Breakfast was excellent and I thought the server on duty on that Monday morning was really good and clearly enjoyed her job and was very helpful indeed.
Overall, I thought this was a lovely hotel and really pleasing to see they had taken the effort to keep the Club Lounge open.
Highly recommended.

Great hotel. Located in the industrial quarter, a five minute tram ride into central Zurich and the tram station is right behind the hotel. The hotel is very modern and clean, with daily treats to guests. Breakfast was also amazing. The executive lounge was very nice, with complimentary drinks and we were upgraded to a suite that overlooked the area. The staff was very welcoming and super helpful. What a great value. Absolutely recommend. Don't change this property Marriott!

Hi Don
I believe there are mini bars in the rooms however, not sure how cold they are or what temperature you would require the insulin to be kept at standard fridge is normally 4°C here in Europe. I would suggest contacting the hotel just to be 100% sure
Dear Debbie
Absolutely yes. You can take the S16 train to Hardbrucke and from there you can reach our hotel, which is about 5 minutes walk away.
