This is is a very small step above a Hostel. Nice location, good parking lot, staff was very pleasant however it is small. I had a "double room" with two small beds pushed together. Surrounding the bed was almost not enough room to get a suitcase around. Clean, but very outdated and the shower was TINY. Like very very tiny and dont get started on trying to sit on the toilet. I thought for sure that we would have a shared shower in the hallway with the looks of the hotel.
If you are on a very strict budget, go for it. Decent place but extra small. Breakfast is not included, and is 20CHF for a Vegan only breakfast. They have no meat or eggs in their breakfast set up whatsoever.

This is a very outdated hotel in a good location, good for people trying not to spend an arm and a leg in hotel accommodations whilst in Switzerland. The staff is extremally accommodating and polite. The room we stayed in had no AC, but had great cross ventilation.

we stayed a couple of nights here while exploring this beautiful area. it looks quite pretty from outside in the traditional wooden style, window boxes full of flowers, balconies etc.. and it is used by some travel agencies for block bookings so it must suit many, but it didn't really satisfy us. the room was ok with a tiny shower room, and a lovely balcony, even if the furniture and decor was cheap and had seen better days. the restaurant suits mass catering for those tour groups, and we weren't impressed. whereas some hotel staff really seem keen to have you to stay, the staff were a little off in their manner. i'd avoid returning, but would if i couldn't get a better place and it wasn't the cheapest place either.

We spent 3 days at this lovely hotel. The hotel is extremely clean with big spacious rooms. The staff and owners are very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Along side the English continental breakfast they have an option of a indian breakfast option. We enjoyed this very much - we had idli sambar, puri, bateta pawa and upma over the the 3 days. All very tasty....felt like home food. I highly recommend this hotel!

Great hospitality. Nice house cleaning and floor services, hassle-free. The rooms are spacious with balcony as well and a view of both snow and green mountains. The hotel also provides free Interlaken passes that gives discounts at some govt and non-govt tourist spots and activities.
Buses 104 and 105 available to travel to Interlaken ost and west. Grocery shops like coop and LIDL at walking distance. Pizza, pasta, kebap and ice cream corners nearby. Overall, great stay!

Had a pleasant check in. The front desk is very friendly and helpful. They gave us a discount card that includes free bus service which was a pleasant surprise. Room is clean and surprisingly bigger than I expected. I have a room with a private balcony and Mountain View’s. So far the start has been very nice.

Went for lunch there with our group, we were served piping hot idlis, dosas, poori and sabzi here in Interlaken! and it was authentic stuff, superb lip smacking stuff. The owner was taking personal attention and the south indian dishes had distinctive taste, how he managed it in Switzerland, amazing

Avoid this hotel. They cancelled a reservation made through booking.com 2 months ago without contacting me, just 3 days before my stay. Once the cancellation done, they offered me to book directly with the hotel but increasing the rates by 20%. It is just unacceptable, but they argue “high season and high demand in interlaken”. You should not trust this hotel or they may ruin your holidays.

Recommend that you stay away from this hotel... the facilities are very old. The hotel closes at midnight and they do not tell you that you will be charged for a night if your flight is late and you arrive at 12:30am. There is no call service and the front entrance is entirely locked. The staff were also not friendly and accomadating. Recommend that you stay at Balmers, Funny Farm and Tell which are right around the Hotel Sonne. These places are much nicer and cost less.

I made booking through agent and stayed with my wife. Hotel looks reasonable from outside but rooms are very tiny. We booked double bed but were given twin bed. Room and washroom are very small and furniture were somehow fitting. Bed was very noisy. Breakfast was very basic.
This hotel is managed by lady owner, who is very warm and welcoming. Hotel is located next to bus stop and bus stop name is also Hotel Sonne.
