Completely renovated in 2019, the Bernerhof is located in one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland. Nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the middle of Interlaken on the well-known Bahnhofstrasse, right next to the Interlaken WEST train station. An ideal starting point to explore the entire Jungfrau region. The congress center, the casino and the Bödelibad, with indoor and outdoor pools and a beautiful wellness department, are also within easy walking distance. With our 39 rooms with 81 beds we are a small privately owned house. The rooms are spread over five floors and easily accessible by lift. You have an unforgettable view of the Jungfrau massif and the surrounding mountains from all our rooms. Half of our rooms are equipped with air conditioning.

Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The hotel is just across the road from Interlaken West station. So, it's extremely convenient especially if you're catching an early train.
The hotel also issue free bus & train transport card within Interlaken and between Interlaken Ost & West stations.
The toilet comes with body shampoo.
There are also 6 USB ports for charging your devices in the room. Though the rooms are next to the street, the window and balcony door are double glazed, which keeps out the noise. There's aircon in the room but you don't really need it in winter, the fee to turn on the air-conditioning is CHF20.
Breakfast is just average, nothing interesting here.

They have their own parking spaces available for €10/night. I am always very fussy about the hotel and was worried but this hotel didn't disappoint us. We arrived late and the staff was very helpful in getting our luggage and parking sorted.
We went for the quadruple room (2 double and a bunk bed), the room was certainly spacious. The bathroom was clean with hair dryer facility. Iron is not in the room but is available upon request. There is a fridge in the room, which is always very convenient. Most convenient thing was the USB ports to charge tablets and the mobile. But if you want more; you need to get an adapter - its not an ordinary 2 pin or 3 pin - some special one is needed - google to find the picture.
The breakfast had a variety of cheese, Cereal, plain and flavoured yogurts, scrambled eggs, Sausages, baked beans, crossaint, bread and jams.
The location of the hotel is on the high street with some good local shops around.

I can't recommend this hotel enough! The room was spacious, clean and modern. Access to bowls, cutlery and cups from reception (self-use) and a kettle in the room - hot drink machine was also available 24/7 in reception. The beds were firm and pillows were extremely comfortable with extra blankets in the linen cupboard. Bathroom was spacious, clean and the shower pressure/temperature was good. We had a small lounge in the room as well which was a lovely addition. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and a great range of foods from yoghurt, meusli, breads, condiments, hot and cold meats, eggs and juices. My favourite part was definitely the two lovely gentlemen at reception that gave us so much information and advice during our stay that we didn't need to seek info elsewhere. Jèróme and Thomas were extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, and took their time to understand your queries and help you find an answer. Location wise was also great, short walk to local Migros, train station and multiple shops/restaurants. Parking at the rear for 10CHF per day was easily accessible.

We loved this hotel. The location is perfect for getting around as it’s next to Interlaken West and the bus and ferry terminals. The room was comfortable and a decent size and the view from the balcony was amazing. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Can’t fault this hotel. Would highly recommend

Such a great location as a base for your Swiss Alps adventure. Just opposite the Interlaken West train station and main bus interchange. It cant get more convenient that this! Imagine after a long day of hiking/trekking or just walking so much at the Jungfrau region, you just need to cross the street and your hotel is already there. 3 supermarkets close by plus many foodplaces for every budget. Breakfast had a great spread just nice to fill you up till late lunch. Loved that they have scrambled eggs, different types of breads, cheeses, hams and had juices, teas and coffee. Great breakfast! Room was spot on clean and spacious! Even if our room was at the back, it still had a balcony. The sofa was a great addition. Water pressure in the shower was amazing. The toilet mirror had a very bright light which was super good. You could chill and hang out at the lobby with free coffee, tea and hot chocolate anytime. Front staff was very friendly, she told me how much she wanted to visit my home country of Singapore and was super friendly to my wife and I. Overall, best value for money. Great place!

We met Ms Doreen on our 1st day as we arrive early. She was so kind, friendly and accommodating to our request and was so helpful to leave our luggage bags in our room as we were out for sightseeing. The next day, we were welcome by Mr Jerome who was also very kind, helpful and very friendly. The rooms were spacious and bed was very comfortable. Our rooms had balconies for us to chill out. We liked the Environment so we extended a few more days in the same hotel as we were very comfortable with the rooms and the staff esp Ms Doreen & Mr Jerome. Two lovely wonderful people who were assisting and helping us during our stay there. The rooms are value for money. A lot of shopping and cafes /restaurants nearby. Best of all, the Interlaken West train station and bus station were just a stone throw away which make our trips very convenient by train and bus. Kudos to Ms Doreen and Mr Jerome for your great service 👌

Perfect location, just across the train and bus station, you can’t get any closer arriving by train to Interlaken West. Outside looked a bit dated but our room must be newly renovated as it looked new, clean, bright and modern. We have great view across the river and even saw beautiful rainbow one evening after it rains. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms new and clean, with windows that can open. Shower was awesome. Check in by Doreen was great, fast, explained everything, told us about the free transit pass, recommended places to visit. Breakfast was great with cold and hot versions, fruits, cereals etc. We thought we booked room with air conditioning but it didn’t work. Opening all the windows help a great deal except for some noise on the street which disappear later into night as Interlaken is not really a night scene place more a transit hub. Highly recommended.

Don’t be put off by the dated exterior of the hotel. The interior is very good. Check in was quick and easy with really friendly staff. There was no differentiation between any of the Swiss languages or English. The rooms were warm, clean and comfortable. The shower was really good too. Breakfast was extensive and Swiss style with an egg boiled bath allowing you to choose between exactly how you wanted it boiled. Novel, never seen the like before. Reception staff were very knowledgeable and knew a lot about what was available for the traveller. Coffee and tea are available in the lobby. And they don’t mind it being used for snacking, if you didn’t want to pay Swiss prices to eat out. It was a lovely stay and right by the railway station too.

Great communication prior to check-in and booking was easy, great location in the middle of town, close to train station and shops. Checked in early and room was available very quickly. Looked like a family run outfit so everyone was very helpful and friendly. Room was safe, very clean and a comfortable bed. Shower and safe in the room worked. Overnight no noise with no issues, breakfast was below average, but would still return to this great hotel.

I chose this hotel because it was next to the train station. I was pleasantly surprised that there are many more reasons to choose this hotel! The view from the room is spectacular! We had a little balcony to enjoy mountain view and fresh air. The beds are comfortable. The front desk makes you feel at home and will everything possible to help you enjoy your time in Interlaken. We enjoyed the spacious breakfast room. The elevator made moving our luggage easy. I loved the coffee machine down in the lobby and the chairs outside to people watch. There are many restaurants within walking distance nearby.
