I stayed here one night after a five night stay in Murren and it was a great experience and I wonderful addition to the trip. After researching multiple hotels in a similar price range, I am very happy with our decision to stay here. The views of the turquoise lake were beautiful and I enjoyed a peaceful and scenic filled walk through the town and along the lakeside to the Interlaken Ost area. The walk took around 45 minutes and it is possible to ride the train (3 minutes) back if desired. There were trains every 30 minutes or so between Ringgenberg and Interlaken Ost stations. One can also ride the bus; both are free with a pass that they provide at the hotel. Our room had a very spacious balcony with a view of the lake. I am not typically attracted to cities or large towns, but Interlaken was very much worth the visit. The lakes, rivers, mountains, gardens, and beautifully kept houses were a great addition to our trip to the area.

The hotel staff were very accommodating. We were let into our room when we arrived despite it being a couple hours before check-in. The reason I am writing a review though is because of how understanding and friendly they were when we had to leave for a flight early in the morning and realized that the front desk was not opened yet. We left a note asking to charge the card on file but it turned out that we had not given them a card yet so we eventually paid over the phone after we landed that evening. The woman we spoke with was completely understanding and very friendly despite us essentially leaving without paying, so that was very much appreciated. Overall we felt that this was an exceptional place to stay at a very reasonable price and convenient, beautiful, location.

Stayed here for a few days and just loved the perfect location. It's about a 10 minute walk from the train station, walkway is parallel to the train tracks. What attracts your attention is the 180 degree view of the Lake Brienz, just spectacular. They provide free breakfast and you can enjoy your meal with the beautiful view. Better yet, bring your breakfast in the patio. The room was average with a queen bed. We got the bedroom with the mountain view and you see a picture-perfect sight right in front of you. For hotel guest, they can travel to and from Interlaken Ost by bus or train for free although we learned this from the Tourist Info and not from the hotel so the first time, we had to pay for the train ride to Interlaken. Other than that, this is a good alternate place to stay if you want to avoid the more expensive Interlaken area and just a few minutes by train. Although it is next to the train track, it didn't bother me that much.

We Chose non smoking hotel as I have an allergy. Quite disappointed in non smoking hotel allowing smoking on outdoor patio. It drifts right in to adjacent room which is only separated by a small wall. Went to sleep to cigarette odor and awoke to odor— both cigarette and marijuana. If you book a non smoking hotel you are booking a hotel that doesn’t allow smoking on premises. No where does it state that smoking is permitted on balcony. We Have stayed here previously without incident but will reconsider staying at this lovely hotel in the future due to this - spending too much money for a lovely view to have it tainted with cigarette smoke.

Our previous stay was in 2016 and 6 years later this hotel is still outstanding in all respects. Breakfast is excellent and the views are both beautiful and relaxing. Tremendous value. Rooms are clean, comfortable and functional. Easy access to Interlaken via car, bus or train and the only possible negative is that there’s nothing within walking distance.

The hotel was wonderful and very well priced! The breakfast was great and the lake view was beautiful. Rooms were quiet. We had our 9 month old with us and the breakfast attendants were very kind.. A high chair was provided. Shower was very clean, bed was comfy, and I was very happy with our stay and would stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel during our time at the Interlaken area, and I loved it! I had never been to the Interlaken area before, but I am so glad that I stayed a little outside of the town. Interlaken is somewhat dirty, and it is packed with tourists. This little village, however, was so clean and peaceful, and the views of the Lake Brienz were unparalleled. I never wanted to leave the balcony - not even in the rain - because the views were so stunning.

While this hotel is in a little village outside of Interlaken, the boat dock was only a short 5 minute walk as were the buses. On top of that, there was plenty to explore nearby. When we weren't hiking or touring the lake, we visited the nearby church and gardens.

This hotel has no dinner service, but a hotel about 5 minutes away did. On another night, we went exploring and found a little restaurant at which to eat. It wasn't much from the outside, but it had the best fondue out of everything I tried throughout Switzerland.

If you like beautiful views and a peaceful environment, I highly recommend this village and this hotel. I yearn to return there someday.

I found this place on trip advisor from all of the great reviews, and would like to contribute. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 night in a lakeview room for our visit to the interlaken area. Here are some of our comments:

Pros: 1. The view: it almost felt like the Caribbean with the turquoise-blue water. Definitely request a lake view room! 2. The balcony: it was very big and was relaxing. It showcased the beauty of the lake. 3. Breakfast: Nice spread and delicious. There was a great selection and the terrace was picturesque. 4. The bed: very comfy, modern, clean and relaxing after a long day of kayaking and hiking. 5. The room keys: this was a minor thing, but they have a cool key system when you leave or come into the building. Very unique and something I have not seen before. 6. Price: affordable and well-worth the money we spent to stay here.

Cons: 1. Location: It was hard to find from the riggenberg train station, we asked friendly locals to help us. (Our german classes in school came to good use!) We did appreciate the complimentary bus pass to interlaken since the town is residential and super quiet at night. 2. The receptionist had us waiting about 15 minutes before checking us in to order something personal on the phone. Although, it is not a dealbreaker, it did not give us a good first impression. Afterwards, she was very friendly and pointed us in the right direction to where we wanted to go and showed us the room. 3. The Elevator: it was the smallest elevator I have ever seen, but I was glad that it was there despite the size, so we would not have to lug our bags up stairs!

Overall, I would recommend this place to others and I am glad that we chose this lovely, quaint b&b! Thank you for the great stay, we will hopefully be back soon!

We stayed in a mountain view room if I remember correctly because the price was pretty competitive. Overall very nice hotel with an unbeatable porch area with a gorgeous lake view. Staff are VERY helpful and I will second that they speak very good English. I also looked forward to the breakfast every morning which came free with our stay. The trip in to Interlaken is easy and nothing to worry about when making your decision on whether or not to stay directly in the city center. I agree not too much to miss if you do not stay directly in the city center.
We really liked our stay, but if were to come back would definitely pay a little more to go with the lake view room as our mountain view room, although nice view as well, seemed to be smaller with quite a small bed, a little too small for two people in my opinion.

We stayed at the Hotel Brienzersee for 3 nights - April 10-13 2014.
From our perspective it was the most amazing stay you could imagine.
Corinne & Lindsay went out of their way to help us plan our day trips, they gave deep thought and great recommendations - each one better than the other on where to go and what to see.
They gave us not just names of attractions but special coffee places, local restaurants and did it with a smile and a passion that made us feel at home.
Speaking of feeling at home - the atmosphere here is just like you would want - very open, very pleasant and very friendly.
The location is perfect and the rooms are very nice, The view from the terrace is worth a million dollars - just sitting there sipping on something can make one feel amazing.
Our suggestion is simple - if you are staying in Interlakken- this is the place to stay thanks to Corrine and Lindsay!

They had private parking available inclusive in the price. Some were available in front of the entrance and some were available at the backside of the hotel.
