Good location on a little plaza with several places to eat nearby and metro stops close by. Jose, the host, was very helpful and very willing to speak English. Rooms were clean, secure and included a small private bathroom.

Jose was willing to tell us good places to eat as well as places to stay away from. Many choices close by.

This is a very well located hostal in the heart of Madrid, where you can walk to all the most interesting places of Madrid and come back late for a good shower and a restful night. All the staff members are very friendly and helpful, specifically Jose, that kindly helped me to unlock the stuck padlock of my luggage.
Rooms cleaned every day and the neighborhood a little bit crazy, but very safe.
Good place for the price.
I would recommend it.

Great rooms, clean . Stuff was very cooperative and polite .. Didn't notice prostitution! Walking distance to gran via and metro station . Jose was very helpful with all the information regarding restaurants, how to get around . The bathrooms were small ,but spotless and that's more important than big bathrooms . We felt very secure amd we will come back again when in Madrid !

This hostel is in a great central location. You will be able to walk to most tourist destinations around the city. We were disappointed that the nearby Metro station was closed during our stay, but it we didn’t need to use it often anyway. The area is a popular nightlife area, especially with the gay community.

The hostel is old, but still relatively clean. It was quiet from outside noise, but the internal walls were thin and we could hear other guests at night.

There was a safe in the room, but it cost €1 every time it was opened. We were also charged for our first night’s stay in our home currency without our permission, at a 5% premium over standard exchange rates. This practice is illegal and something to watch out for if your home currency is anything other than Euros.

Jose was friendly and helpful.

Thanks for staying with us! We are very concerned to make the stay of our guests as pleasant as possible, so we appreciate your comments. As for the charge of the first night, it is necessary to guarantee the reservation, since in case this collection could not be made it would be canceled; the collection we make is always in euros, so we do not know the reason why you were charged in your currency, or else, it was because of the change. We feel the inconvenience caused

Me and my husband stayed here for two nights. It is just two blocks away from Gran Via and all major sites are within walking distance (Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real, Plaza Cibeles, and Prado Museum). The staff are very kind and helpful. Our room is cozy with a nice view of the square. Toilet and bath is newly renovated. Bars, restaurants and shops are all within easy reach. Neighborhood is quiet and safe. We had an excellent stay in this hostel and I could not say anything negative about it.

I just spent a week at the Hostal Zamora, my third time there in a year. As before, the room was very clean, the air conditioning good, and the helpfulness of the staff excellent. The location is perfect both for visiting important tourist sites as well as for getting to know Madrid more like a local. There is nothing at the Zamora that suggests luxury. However, it is perfect as a nice, safe and clean hostal conveniently located. I will definitely stay there in the future and I highly recommend it for fist-timers.

I was expecting average accommodations in this location. I was just staying one night waiting on a flight back to the States. However, the room was spacious and clean (did I say spacious?). What really blew me away was the view of the square below. It was great to watch people and nightlife (and this being Madrid, life in the wee hours of the morning). The staff was efficient and helpful. Plus, there is an elevator for taking your luggage to the top floor. The only warning is that the bathroom is tiny, but having an en suite bathroom at this price is amazing, so deal with it. I would stay here again.

This place was fabulous! Clean, quiet, extremely friendly staff and excellent location! It is walking distance to all the local attractions and one of the main shopping areas is just a block away. No breakfast available at the hotel but they have a coffee machine and there is a bakery literally across the square where it is located. The hotel is family owed and run. I would stay here again in a heart beat!

The place is really well located near Gran Via and a metro. Our room was on the 4th floor but there's an elevator. It's really clean and nice bathroom. We had a 3 single beds room and it was just what we need. It's quiet and relax. Air conditionner was working.

Answer from HOSTAL_ZAMORA
Our reception is 24 hours, so you can always come whenever you want. To get to the hostal from the airport, you can do it by metro, taxi and bus. The metro runs until 01:30; The bus 24 hours, but you would have to walk about 20 - 30 minutes walking from cibeles. The other option is the taxi and you would leave at the door of the hosta the price is fixed from € 30.00 To go to the South Bus Station from the hostal the best is the metro or taxi.
