Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
No actual reception in the suites building, rather it's in the hotel next door. The room is ok for a short stay but needs some maintenance and the kitchen needs to be better stocked. Wouldn't describe it as 5 star though. All the rooms should have a coffee machine and coffee rather than having to request it from the reception.

Stayed for 3 nights. You check in at Hyatt Hotel next door. Rooms large and had fabulous power shower. Continental buffet items available each morning free and coffee machine 24hr. Direct route to/from airport #46 bus. Metro to centre very close, 30min end to end. Safe at night. We went into Hyatt hotel each evening for nightcap. Don't leave without going to the Sky bar. All staff very friendly and informative.

Very confortable hotel. Spacious apartment with 2 rooms. Both room with TV with Chrome cast. A little kitchen that can be very useful. They also have a vending machine in case you need something last minute. Few steps away from the metro and also from a fantastic gym.

Everything needed for a comfortable stay. Spacious room, kitchen amenities and basic breakfast bar with coffee and tea. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Hyatt staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at check in and with all needs. Highly recommended.

Really nice place once we found it! Nice room with separate bedroom, giant bathroom, 2 TV's. One could use it for a two week stay. We didn't know that we had to put in "The Regency Hyatt Barcelona Tower" as a destination on the car GPS, and this place was right next door. The Hesperia Fira sign was not visible from the street but, the building looked correct on Google Satellite view. We had to sign in at the Hyatt next door but that fact was stated on our Booking reservation.

We stayed in this hotel at the end of April 2015 both my husband and I. We booked it last min, I think we paid approx £198 for 4 nights for a double room, which I thought was reasonable. The hotel and the suites could not be faulted. The hotel restaurant for eating during the evening was quite pricey (70 euros for 2 meals and a bottle of water - ouch!) however thereafter we ate out before we came back to the suites in the evening at the end of each day. The area itself is a residential area full of young medical professionals and students alike (as the university and hospital are across the road). It was very very easy to get to and from the airport, bus number 46 from outside the airport terminal goes straight to the hotel and its less than a 2 min walk to the hotel reception. The bus runs every 15 mins. Also the metro stop is again a 2 min walk from suites, it is oddly located in the hospital carpark. I would recommend getting the T-10 tram ticket, you can use it both on the trams and on the bus, but it can only be bought at a tram or train station. The T-10 card is 9.90 euro. You can make multiple tram changes and only use one journey on the ticket as long as your journey takes less than 1 hour 15 mins and you don't leave the metro station. You can also use the T-10 ticket on the 'funicular de montjuic' (which is the electric train) if you are planning a visit on the cable cars up to the castle. By the way the cable cars are 11.50 euro return journey and the castle is 5 euros entry free per person or 3 euros each if you are under 29 years old. There is free wifi within the hotel and the suites which had excellent connection you just have to enter the password every now and again. The hotel does run a fee bus shuttle service to and from the La Ramblas and the airport, however these are at set times throughout the day and evening and only hold 8 passengers at a time, so its a first come first served basis. The shuttle is very nice and air conditioned. You can get the times from reception and just wait outside in line. If you are thinking of having breakfast in the hotel, which I would highly recommend, as it is lovely and well worth it, the reception quote you 24 euros per person, what they don't tell you is that if you pre-book your breakfast the night before, it is only 12 euros per person, I just wanted to share this with everyone. There is a small supermarket, a bakery, a bar and a fast food type eating place (pizza, salads, kebabs and baguettes) just at the back to the left of the hotel and suites, if you need any supplies, there is also a lovely fresh fruit and veg shop. The shops are extremely reasonably priced. All in all we were very pleased with the suites and we would return and stay here again. If anyone has any questions, or wants any further details, then please don't hesitate to ask and I will try to answer as honestly as possible.

Lobby is really nice, but the suite is really small, it has mosquitos. The shower water temperate changes every 10 to 15 seconds, sometimes it's really hot, and sometimes it's really cold. The maid never cleaned the shower. Hotel guests can't even see the spa area without paying 14 euro fee. It is ridiculous! Not to mention kids aren't allowed to be in there. The so called shuttle bus only takes 8 people. A lot of people from the hotel were fighting to get on. We were only able to use it from the airport to the hotel, and that was only because we flew in really early in the morning and no one was there but us. The shuttle bus driver was extremely rude and nasty. We had a problem with the so called 8 people shuttle bus, and complained to the front desk manager, he was even worse. He was sarcastic, nasty, rude, not willing to help and did nothing. When we demanded to talk to the general manager, we were told they were in meetings all day and we asked for the general manager to give us a call several times, but no one ever called back. I will not recommend this hotel and I will not ever return. Nothing is good about this hotel, except it had a really nice lobby, bar area and the bar tender is really nice.

Modern spacious apartments. It's ideal for the independent traveller. Bus 46 from the airport takes you to the hotel.....just stop off at the hospital. If using the Metro, it's at the begining/end of the L1 line (depending on where you're coming from) and trains arrive every 1.5 mins.Both the Fira Suites and Hotel have a courtesy bus to the city centre and airport. Times given at check in, plus maps of the city. Bought the Barcelona Card (costs about 6 Euros per day). Used it on trams, buses and metro. A big shopping centre is only about 10 mins away. Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Downsides No kettles in rooms. Extra charges for late check out. The subway.
Despite the downsides, I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 2 Nights and were supprised about our Appartement. Every thing was designed and great looking. Very nice bathroom, living room and bedroom. Equipped with a small kitchen minibar, hair dryer, two tvs, desk for working, Couch and super bed in kingsize style. Trought to an discount, we got the breakfast buffet for 12 instead of 24 Euro. One of the Best breakfast at Hotel ever. Good Coffee, dozents of cereals and fresh Juice, fruits, a Lot of different Kind of eggs and backed stuff and so on. The Metro line is about 5 Minuten away and in 10 minutes from there you are in town. This Hotel is Worth every Cent of money and we can recommend it to every one.

This was a weekend break, for 3 nights. We booked a short package With flights but I recommend you book direct to get the discounted hotel rate. The suites, unlike the massive Hesperia (sister) Tower, are only 3 floors high, but not much of a view in the area anyway. Nice water feature and park at the back. The decour is clean and contemporary, with black gloss tiles throughout. The kitchenette consists of sink, hob, microwave and basic pots and pans. Washing up is taken care off by staff upon servicing the room. Large king bed was joined in the middle but I think they are bolted so hardly noticed. Breakfast is well worth the price, although if you're on a tight budget there's a cafe and shop nearby. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Shuttle bus to airport is a bonus. Other people have commented on the location being too far out but the metro in Barcelona is cheap and efficient so no worries there. All in all, great stay.

DR Khaja, sounds like a wonderful vacay!
The night before the cruise only ensures you’re on time for departure, but the days following the cruise will be your time to play in Barcelona. I would re-consider the amount of luggage; its not impossible to launder and reuse clothing items. 2 adults & 2 kids are certainly manageable with a sofa bed option. Accommodations by staff are always permitted because they cost you something....good luck! Enjoy!!
