The hotel was just ok. The one good thing about it is the location, which is quite central. The room was average at most. In terms of cleaning, it could be better, the room was outdated and one of the reception person was not very nice at all.

The people on reception were friendly and polite and made me feel welcome straight away. My room was a little odd. I booked a single room, and my first impression was that it was quite old fashioned and could do with a bit of modernisation. There isn’t an external window, which I found disappointing - just a window looking into the hallway of the hotel. I had to keep my blinds closed the whole time just to maintain some privacy. The hotel is situated on a very busy street off of La Rambla, so if you’re looking to be central, this hotel is great. I think that’s really what you’re paying for, as the hotel itself is very basic, although clean. As a female solo traveller, I felt perfectly safe here. The room did not look like the photos on the website.

Situated 3 min walk from the metro station and all the eateries. Nice and spacious rooms. Right in the middle of all the action and activity. The breakfast timings could’ve been longer and it could’ve started earlier than 8 am. Also since it’s situated right in the middle of La Rambla, the streets can be a tad noisy at night.

Our booking was with another hotel that was unsuitable when we arrived in Barcelona. We had to look for place to stay and came across the Hotel Condal. Luckily they had 2 rooms that we could take straight away. Desk staff were extremely helpful, assisted us to do the booking on line as it was cheaper. Lovely clean air conditioned rooms, daily room service. Breakfast bar in the morning with a small courtyard so you could sit outside. Located down d side road off Les Rambles so location is perfect. Would definitely stay again.

The place is so old and tired it's a joke. The walls are made of big plastic panels. The rooms have no amenities, no toiletries, no coffee/tea making equipment. It is brown and drab and needs a complete refurb. The Aircon would not come on and you cannot sleep with the window open because it is so loud. Even with both sets of double glazing closed the only time it is quiet is between about 5am and 7am in the morning. And then the cleaner starts banging around. There is zero soundproofing. The bathrooms need a complete overhaul. Just don't go there

In a great location. Lots of restaurants and shops on your doorstep. Rooms a little old but still better than others I have stayed in. If you just want a bed and still be close to the action this is the place.

It’s a nice hotel with a good location. Kind and friendly staff, and cheap but good breakfast available for 5 euros. Stayed at the hotel for 4 days.
Decent and good enough, and would go back there in the future - but only if I remember to bring earplugs when I have to sleep.
The hotel is just too noisy, and it was hard to get proper sleep. It’s noisy when guests are walking around, talking, closing doors, going around with suitcases on wheels no matter what time of the day it was.
And don’t expect to be able to sleep anytime past 8:00 AM ever, as the cleaning ladies were talking were loud, and using walkie talkies with a loud beeping noise.
If I go back there, it’s going to be with earplugs. But other than that, I had a good time there.

One a 2 day trip to be in the heart of Barcelona , was a good choice of hotel!
Walk of right onto the Ramblas and Boquiera ( the famous food market) is right opposite.
No shortage of restaurants/ cafes/ shopping places around.
Perfect for holidays or business! Very reasonably priced even in peak season!

Take the airport bus. It stops at the Plaza de Catalunya. From there get on the Metro at the Plaza and get off at the Liceo stop ( I forget which line but anyone can easily tell you) The Hotel Condal is literally around the corner from there. Get a combined Metro ticket and save even more.
