I had an amazing stay at Zero Barcelona. The area is very calm and safe for a solo-traveller, and the hostel is very close to the beach. It felt like a great holiday staying there. The staff was incredible helpful as well, Paul in welcoming me, Patricio in helping me extend my stay, and going above and beyond in trying to find the perfect room, as well as Carola in the cafe always being helpful and accommodating. Thanks Zero Barcelona! will visit soon again

I had a nice stay at Zero Hostel, the staff was friendly, available and helpful and the building is well organised and designed with quality style. The only negative point is the fact that all the keys are virtual and you need to have a functional smartphone to be really free of movement in the hostel, it also questions the use of the data provided through the Goki app, whose downloading is mandatory to access the facilities. Besides, the only problem I had was resolved quickly (the lockers).

All in all everything was great, the room and all of the facilities were clean and the mattresses were comfortable. The staff also was really nice and well organized. However, one staff member came into our room for complaining about minor noises. There is a really nice Café in the hostel which offers really great food but the crepes were too small.

I stayed in the hostel for one night in January. Everything was absolutely perfect, I can’t find a single thing to complain at. The hostel looks brand new renovated, it’s big, so it never felt crowded. Every space was clean, the bed was super comfortable. Also, the room was very-well heated. They provide everybody with a secure locker and a towel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they answered all my questions and agreed to print something for me. Incredible value/price relationship. I will absolutely stay there again when I’m in Barcelona. :)

This is the perfect hostel for people who do NOT want to party and especially the perfect one for people who want to work.

By far one of the best hostels I have ever been to. Completely digitalies - you get an app for entering the hostel and the room. The kitchen is super clean and is cleaned every afternoon - also great equipment and super organized. Great Recycling too. The showers and toilets are great and clean as well. The cafe is perfect and SUPER cheap.

Staff hiring is excellent. Everyone working for the hostel is super nice, friendly, helpful and proactive. Great Team atmosphere. If you have a problem or a wish JUST approach them and they will try everything to solve it.

We stayed for one week in this hostel as we were between apartments. We live in Barcelona already so were a bit nervous about staying in a hostel as we both work during the day. Thanks to the incredible hospitality of the 2 guys who worked there, plus the friendly and clean atmosphere, we had a great experience! The kitchen is clean and perfect to cook in and the beds are so comfortable. This is a wonderful hostel if you want a peaceful place to stay in a great location. I really want to thank the man working at reception during the mornings this week, he was so polite and helpful. Thankyou very much!!

I was robbed at this hostel and no one even bothered to call the police, locate the place where my stuff could be, and help me get in contact with the person who supposedly stole my stuff (one of the staff members, the cleaning lady). When I threatened that I'd go to police, they said "whatever", and so I did go to police, and the morning after my belongings were returned by that person! She said she "found" them where everybody else has already looked at. And one of the staff members secretly told me that this happened before with another guest of this hostel and this staff member. Shortly after that I was kicked out of the hostel by the owner. She demanded that I'd go to police and tell them that my stuff is «found». I refused, and was kicked out immediately. Then they threatened my friends they'd kick them out too, if they don't persuade me to go to police to deny everything I told them about this incident. I still refused, and my friends were also kicked out within an hour. I’ve never been treated like this in my entire life. They pressured me, shouted at me, shamed me, and this person, the cleaning lady, verbally harassed me, and 10 mins before I was kicked out, she even pushed me! I’ve spent three days crying because all of my stuff was gone (including my glasses and my contact lenses, I couldn't even see!) and politely asking them questions about what happened, I’ve never raised my voice in front of them, and they told me that my fault and the reason that I should get out was my «attitude»! From the very first second that I told them I was robbed they were very rude and ignorant. I first thought that my stuff was thrown in the trash bin by that cleaning lady, so I asked the girl at the desk, if she could try to describe how the trash bins in Barcelona look like and where they could be (cause they probably look different from ours, and it was happening at night, it was very dark outside) and she replied that she has no idea how the bins in Barcelona look like and where they could be, and that this is my problem, and not hers. This is not how you treat your guests. It was a terrible experience and I would'nt wish it for anyone… I’ve really hesitated to write this, but I don’t want anyone in my place ever again.

Hi KarmaNeDremlet , We feel really sorry for this misunderstanding. Our staff doesn't rob. You lost your things in the room the first night and the second day the cleaning lady found it. I'm sorry but we are in our right to invite to leave the guests which ones are disturbing the peace and the atmosphere. As you can check in our reviews first time that we had this misunderstanding. But please note that our staff is very professional and helpul as they were in this situation. Best wishes, Amistat Beach Hostel

A friend and I stayed here for 2 weeks in the summer and this place was the best. The rooms are cleaned daily and are a great way to meet people. The kitchen area is awesome and always clean. The hostel is very close to the beach and close to 2 grocery stores so that you can buy food and make it at the hostel. The crowd that always stayed there was fun and it was easy to make friends. They had a guy named Vinny working there that would organize pub crawls as well as take us to nightclubs which was excellent. You would pay 20 euros and would not have to wait in lines! It was a little far from the downtown area of Barcelona but you could take the subway or walking along the beach was nice as well. Overall I loved this hostel and would stay at it again.

The facility is fine, but they had to close the window with a key at night and it was hard to get the staff to open the window in the morning or start the air conditioner to circulate the air. With 8 people in one room and the smell of the toilet and the overflowing trash, it was really too much. Hope you have better luck than I did.
