We mostly enjoyed our stay here. It’s in a good location surrounded by a great selection of restaurants, cafes, shops and supermarkets and the area has a nice relaxed vibe. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool area is nice and bigger than we expected based on some of the reviews we read here. The hotel is modern with a comfortable large lounge area and 24 hour reception and room service. The apartment is light and spacious and the main bed is comfortable. The kitchen is good with a small fridge/freezer, hob and microwave although we didn’t do any cooking so can’t comment how efficient it was. The sofa in the lounge area is not comfortable for sitting and sofa bed mattress is not very supportive for sleeping but was ok for our young child. We had a room overlooking the back of the hotel which was lovely and quiet but there was a lot of noise from other guests constantly slamming their doors and running up and downstairs all night until 6am so we barely slept for 4 out of the 7 nights and staff tried to help but the guests were too drunk to co-operate. Hopefully that was a rare occurrence and the other nights after they checked out were very peaceful. The room is fully serviced each day and the air conditioning is good which we appreciated as it was very hot and humid last week. The toilet and shower really don’t offer any privacy which was ok for us as we have a young family and we found it funny but I can see how that could be a problem for others travelling with friends or older kids so definitely ask for the rooms available with a more privately designed bathroom. We would definitely stay here again as it’s a good hotel and reasonably priced compared to others in the city and we enjoyed the location.

Excellent location. About 800m from plaça Catalunya and Las Ramblas street.
Many little supermarkets nearby and nice restaurants.

The service was really good and the room was clean.
It's a pity that it smelled like smoke, and that the parking was not available and we had to pay extra 40 euros to get a parking card...Barcelona has very expensive parkings, and we chose this hotel because of the parking.
However, I'd come back as the trip went smoothly and the staff was super nice with us.

The photos generally show the property well and that is what you should expect. I would say that perhaps the rooms needed a little spruce up e.g. lick of paint but generally they were comfortable and functional. The hotel was quiet, a little street noise with the window open but otherwise fine.
The staff were very helpful, on arrival the previous guest had left the safe locked open so we weren't able to use it. The staff went out of their way to sort it out even though it was quite late in in the afternoon. The made several phone calls and visits to the room trying different fixes until it was sorted, they could easily have left it until the manager was in next day but we appreciated that they didn't.
The selection of kitchen equipment was interesting e.g. a colander but no kettle or really anyway of heating water since there wasn't really a suitable container to use in the microwave, I suppose we could have boiled it in a pan but the only pan was quite large but I did nip down and use the kettle in the lounge area. Also there was only 2 of everything but the room could accommodate 4 (we were 3). Not really suitable for cooking but then we didn't want or need to.

We had a great time here. Very clean and smelled lovely!! In a part of the city with loads of bars and cafes with easy access to everything we wanted to see.
A couple of less satisfactory things though…
The pool and terrace are tiny, the photos are not very representative. One family at a time and even then it’s a squeeze. More like a big jacuzzi.
There’s no bar in the hotel, not a massive problem as there’s so much nearby but it was a surprise.
The toilet and shower are in the centre of the room with glass door and walls. Ok if you’re a couple but my teenage boy and girl were horrified and it took a strict rota of hiding in the lounge area where my sofa bed was to get them showered every day!

I stayed in this hotel with my mum and sister for 4 nights. It was an absolutely amazing experience to stay in Barcelona city. From the first minute we walked in we had lovely welcoming by the Juan Spina at the main reception desk, he explained and guided us to organise our first ever trip in Barcelona. All staff were very friendly. Hotel is spotless clean. All facilities were working properly and no issues. Very safe as you can’t get from outside if you are not guest. Very bright and comfortable rooms. Black outbuildings with heavy curtains. Very quiet street.
Towels have been changed everyday. We had kitchen appliances and all was cleaned every day by housekeepers. Housekeeping excellent too. Location 7 minutes walk from university metro station. 15 minutes to Catalonia square. Numerous bars, restaurants local, but no laud. Aldi and nice patisserie around the corner. I’m definitely recommend this hotel to stay and we will be coming back again. Thank you to all Ako suits staff our stay was excellent. At the time of leaving we must to have printed boarding passes and it was not an issue too. I wish lots of other places will be able to provide same quality service to their customers. Thank you again.

We were very pleased with our stay at Ako Suite from the 13th to the 18th. We disembarked from our cruise in the morning. Although we arrived long before check in, we were able to leave all our luggage at the hotel and begin our 5 days in Barcelona immediately. No dragging bags about. The front staff was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helped us navigate the Metro and gave us tips on restaurants in the area. We thought the room was very nice and kept very clean and tidy. I hope we can stay again. A very enjoyable experience. Thank you again.

It has honestly been the worts experience in my life in a hotel. I should have left when I arrived and had the first horrendous experience.
It was pouring rain and the lady at the front desk would not open the door. Then I arrive and she is finishing with someone so I get close to the counter to drop some things I was carrying (of course no one to help you, don't expect that) and she says to move back and give them space. I was about a meter away from the person next to me. and he was done and saying goodbye. I have never encountered any one more rude. I asked to speak to the manager as I would not deal with her.
Then, I had asked for the room farther away from the elevator,(I sent a couple of emails to that respect) and I got the room right next to the elevator but worse, there are two large families that came together on either side. And they would leave the door open and basically use the hotel corridor as their own private quarters and had music, talked loud. It started at 3pm I had travelled from the US so overnight and it is now 11 pm and I am still hearing them. Th gentlemen at the reception calls but of course nothing changes. Do yourself a favor, stay away!!! I was going to leave after the woman at the front desk was so rude and they asked me to give them a chance. I have regretted every minute. learn from my mistakes. I have tried to look for another hotel but it is too late, even at the expense of loosing the money. This is just worse than anything I have seen. And I came because they had good reviews.

Had a great stay at Ako Suite Hotel recently. Location was even better than I thought when I booked it on line. Walking distance to main city sights and not far from Universitat Metro stop. Electric bikes right out the front. Apartment was exactly as it appears in pictures. Quiet, safe, clean and secure made my stay very pleasant. Thank you to all the Ako Suite Hotel Staff.

Fantastic modern apartments perfectly located. Good sized rooms and I would recommend staying here.Great decor and the rooms are also very quiet and the neighbourhood has plenty of bars and restaurants. Great value.

The pool is not heated.
There is no smoking in this hotel.
Peter, I have no idea, however the friendliness of the staff at reception could be an indicator that they want to provide any service that makes you happy, but check with them.
You can take the Airbus from airport till Plaza Universidad bus station. The hotel is a 5 minutes walking from the bus station. From Airport to hotel there is 14 km and the trip is almost 35 minutes. We can't sen our email by Trip Advisor. You can call us by phone: 0034 934 533 419.
