Great hospitality at this very good hotel within walking distance of Barca Estacion Sants. Courtesy gift of water and local candies on arrival. Rooms are spotless. A great night’s sleep awaits: very Comfortable bed and pillows. It was hot but rooms have air conditioning - thankfully! The hotel satisfied our request for a quiet room. There is a popular restaurant and fitness facilities. Communal areas are arty and well clean, but in the heat of the summer they could benefit from a blast of air conditioning. This hotel is a fantastic base for travelling around Barca and Spain as its just 5 mins walk from Sants station, in a busy residential area. Its easy to get there directly on the Renfe train from the airport gor just 5€. It is staffed by a professional and friendly team. They gave us a warm welcome in very proficient English at check in (Cristina) and check out (Juan). Whilst engaging with Reception team, I observed a lots of tourists were upset when asked to pay tourist tax. This created a difficult situation for the staff. Remember - there is a reason why spectacular cities like Barcelona have to charge it (high profile events cost money to set up, create strain and additional demand on public services, maintenance of the fantastic sites, staffing, transport, security, etc to enable you to sightsee in safety). Its just €4,50 per person per day. It is not included in your VAT tax element of your bill. If you don’t want to pay it find somewhere else that doesn’t have a local tax but don’t argue with young staff who have no control over local public policy!

The hotel is 10 min walking distance from Avinguda Diagonal, one of the largest streets in Barcelona, all around ( shopping areas, tourist bus station , hospital …..) .
There are supermarkets & cafe shops nearby
Staff were very nice , friendly & helpful
I felt ok in the neighborhood during day time, but not at night ( it's just feeling, anyway you are in Barcelona )
Room was clean , but small & you may hear the people stay next to you as if they are with you in the same room.

Great hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. Most staffers at the hotel desk could speak english which was very helpful to our group The room was very modern and extremely clean. And the breakfast buffet was excellent.

Let me start out by saying that I'm an NH member so my review is largely based on the comparison of this hotel property to other NH hotels we have stayed at across various cities. First, the location of the hotel is extremely disconnected from the rest of Barcelona so if your intention is to travel to barcelona for holiday, then this hotel is most definitely not for you. For work, it's close proximity to the congress center is quite good. But that's where any positive feedback I have to say ends.

First, we had booked an executive room for our stay and the room which was already very expensive turned out to exhibit all the features of a bunker. In other words, the only window was what can only be described as a tiny hole that barely gets any light and an air conditioner vent that blows out air like wind so that it's either too cold or too hot. The bathroom is a whole other story. For an executive room, you would expect 2 sets of towels for 2 people. However, the bathroom is one tiny sink with two towels so if you and your partner both want to wash your face, good luck! The best part of the bathroom? Zero water pressure in the shower so washing your hair is a whole challenge on its own.

The breakfast. Here is my favorite one. The first morning there, the omelette came back with a hair in it. After complaining and returning it back, we barely received an apology and zero acknowledgement of responsibility,

But by far, the worst part of our experience were 2 specific staff members who were extremely rude and aggressive. My only regret is not being able to get their names. One was the head of the breakfast staff. This guy is quite remarkable. Every hotel guest that makes the mistake of sitting in the "wrong" designated area of the breakfast section gets yelled at and reprimanded. He was so aggressive that the idea this guy is allowed to speak to guests is fascinating. Then there's one guy at the front desk who had the respect to snap at my husband for having the audacity to ask for a taxi so that we can go to the train station with our luggage. This guy was my favorite because when we informed him that we would be giving a review, his answer was "go ahead. I don't care."

Overall, very very bad experience and as an NH member, I'm shocked that this hotel is operating at this level.

A) I emailed the hotel on the morning of the 20th, still waiting for a reply
B) We arrived at 11:30 /12:00 and asked if we could do an early check -in, this was denied as check in was 3pm. However, we could do the the registration, so that when we arrived at 3pm, the check in process had been done. We arrived at 4:30 and were told that the room was not ready and needed to wait. We could do the check-in registration, the concierge wanted to start the registration process. He was talking of the phone, I guess trying to find a room. He used the excuse that the hotel was extremely busy and the room just needed a few minutes to get ready.
C) When we finally arrived in our room, we arrived to a box, with barely any light as the window was so tiny, and looked onto the stair case. The shower and toilet could possibly be used at the same time as it’s that small. There is no privacy in the room, even though the window is tiny. The small window has a stairway outside, that is used for “smokers”.
D) This hotel is not sound proof, every sound echoes through the room, from the same floor and from above.
E) We feel that this is not the room that we paid for, as it doesn’t look anything like what they advertise for a Superior room, it looks more like a standard double room.
F) Very strange, we had 1 bottle of mineral water in the room and 1 gown, however, we were two. The water was not replaced, very strange!
G) Definitely not value for money, I know Barcelona was booked out for everywhere because of the Grand Prix and the Soccer between Barcelona and Villa Real. However, this doesn’t count for not giving the quest what the pay for.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. the experience was terrible. I stayed 8 nights, a lot of money, deplorable services. when I got to the room, you could smell mold. in the bathroom, the shower head did not work. the air in the bathroom also did not work. when we were taking a bath, a lot of steam was created. in vain we called the technician because we were told that this is how this air works. at 4 stars, something like this is unacceptable. although I reported the smell problem at least 3 times, it was solved only once, when they put a solution in the sewer and sprayed the room with ambient spray. in my opinion, this is a great lack of professionalism.
Another topic, the shower gel has been diluted with water!!!!
we were given a room at the back, right next to the hotel's air conditioner. please don't get a room there because you can hear the constant roar of the air conditioning. every movement of the neighbor can be heard in the room.
not to mention breakfast. the same 8 days in a row. the products were not fresh. execrable service. if you left something on the table and you went, for example, to make a coffee, when you came back the food was no longer there. no attention to details

I wanted a reasonably comfortable overnight stay between a train journey and a bus journey somewhere convenient for the station, so was prepared to spend a little more than for a more basic hotel. This hotel fitted the bill. Can't comment on all the hotel's facilities as my stay was short.

I always try to book NH hotel in the countries and cities I am travelling across.
Able to maintain almost always a very qualitative and professional approach offering the experience we need after a long day working.
Staff always very supportive, wide rooms clean and very accurate.. and if you arrive too late there us always the possibility to prepare a good coffee in your room

Room was small but adequate. The front desk kept emphasizing that the mini bar in the room was all free, but there was nothing inside worth wanting. What was supposed to be inside, per the inventory car, was not there. Restaurant fare was excellent and worth the cost of the morning continental breakfast. Overall, my experience was average to good.

We ordered this hotel with a specific note that we needed a parking space. Got a confirmation with no additional info and thought everything was okay. When we arrived after a 15 hours drive, the parking garage was full but the door open. When we tried to leave the garage, the door was closed and we were stuck in a parking basement at 21 in the evening at 37 degrees heat.

When we called for help in the basement, we got a person that didn't speak English and just hung up without helping. My girlfriend went to the reception for help, but instead of helping they were busy asking for proof that we were living there. Proof that was in a car, stuck in the basement. They they went on with a long explanation that it actually wasn't their garage and we could park in the street till 6 in the morning because it was a Sunday. All while the car was stuck in the garage in front of the door. After 45 minutes of discussion they finally agreed to call and the door got opened. We had to find somewhere else to park in the city for the night. So over an hour wasted because they had no intention of helping and being bathed in sweat from sitting in the car at that sauna of a basement.

They then gave us a webpage where we could reserve a spot from the next day. Imagine if they had done that in the confirmation based on my comment... So the next day we parked in the basement when it had a free spot. As the hotel was busy not giving any service, I got a local friend to help me park based on my reservation.

When the day came to leave, we were checking out at 4.30 in the morning, as we were going to drive 23 hours to Copenhagen. Guess what... The door wouldn't open. This time when we asked the reception for help, they told us to call the parking lot number, so they could open the door. The number that hangs up if you don't speak Spanish. In the end we final got them to try and open the door, which didn't help as the door didn't open. So after further discussion, they finally came down to help us (they didn't seem otherwise busy as 4.30 in the morning). After several calls to the parking guy who kept hangning up, we finally got out with a 30 minute delay. This caused us to get behind an accident on the way home and in the end cost us over 3 hours. So even though the webpage says they have parking, DO NOT TRUST IT! You arr on your own and they are in no mood to help, unless you go into a long discussion with them.
