The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin, enjoys a reputation for excellence, with guests frequently lauding its pristine condition and elegant atmosphere. While the hotel's amenities—including luxurious rooms and an extensive breakfast—are often praised, some visitors mention the steep prices, particularly for breakfast. The central location garners appreciation for its proximity to key Berlin landmarks. Although room comfort and design receive commendations, a few guests have encountered issues with room service. Service is largely recognized as friendly and professional, yet experiences vary.

I stayed here with my girlfriend in March 2022 for 3 night city break. It was between the Ritz Carlton and Adlon Kempinski an we chose the Ritz for location, feeling the Adlon was likely to be more tourist infested (ironic I know) which was the right decision.

To be clear the Ritz Carlton is. superb hotel and more than meets what you expect from a 5 star hotel. The rooms (we had 2....more on this shortly) are well appointed and clean. They have comfy beds, nice bathrooms, plenty of space and nice facilities and are lovely and quiet. Zero noise transfer from other rooms.

However, the aircon in our room was utterly useless, moving us to next door showed nothing more than next door was useless too so in the end we gave up and opened a window. When you pay top money I think its fair to expect this is sorted. Initially my complaint about lack of AC resulted in a fan and a discussed with my girlfriend that "100% we will get a Dyson AC unit!!!" to which she said "but they don't make one" to then find a crap fan delivered was poor form.

Having said this, the hotel acknowledged this with a nice bottle, card from the manager so fair enough. They handled is badly but made it right so credit to them.

It isn't cheap. Some milk for coffee to room (none in room) was 5 euro. Small items from the room fridge top price too, but to be fair they were not to precious on what was used (nothing as I recall bar 1 pot of nuts).

I would stay again. It is a lovely hotel and the concierge and staff are great. Expect to pay for everything but this isn't untypical of hotel like this.

Living most of the time in Asia, you get used to the service culture that exists here. From a service standpoint, 3-stars in Asia can be 4 or 5 stars in Europe or North America.

Therefore I was excited to experience the Ritz Carlton in Berlin, a city, I had visited many times.

The hotel, located at Potsdamer Platz, is centrally located and easily accessible by train or taxi (or on foot from many areas!). Set in a modern structure, the hotel is located directly in front of the station entrance.

Upon arrival however, it was disappointing to find that no one was available to assist with my baggage. After entering, the desk staff was helpful in quickly checking me in, and offering to assist to my room.

The rooms are large, with plenty of space to stretch out. A daybed/sofa runs the length of the window side and offered a comfortable area to sit.

Usual accessories, desk, etc are all present. Decor is modern.

The bath is equally good sized, with both a shower and tub. I had forgotten my toothbrush and while there was none in the room, a quick call to reception was able to solve my issue.

Room service was prompt, and the food quality was as you would expect at this caliber of hotel.

Breakfast is offered in the main restaurant. The hotel was very busy, and seating was somewhat limited. I noticed several tables that hadn't been cleared (and weren't cleared for a little while). There didn't appear to be enough staff to adequately serve the number of guests. I needed to ask several times for my coffee to be refilled. However, once I got the attention of one server, she was very good about keeping my cup filled.

I found the hotel to be a good option in the city, although I feel the price is higher than it should be for this quality of room and service. Price-wise, there are other hotels at this same range that I believe to be superior. Perhaps my experience is an outlier.

But price aside, I find the RC Berlin to be a very nice hotel and I would certainly stay again if circumstances warranted.

I stayed here with my wife for a treat by “cashing-in” a load of Marriott Bonvoy points – thanks Marriott for the free stay! The hotel is smart, and the staff are excellent – really friendly and “on-the-ball”. While this hotel is very nice, I’m not sure it would be worth the usual tariff, or the extra cost over the “standard” Marriott (there is one just 2 mins away). There is a small pool and small steam room/ spa, very clean but underwhelming. The best point of this hotel is that is literally 10 seconds walk from Potsdamer Platz and its transport hub. This is the first hotel we’ve stayed in with a switch beside the bed to open and close the curtains!!

I wouldn’t really pay for such a poor standard in 4 star hotel let alone a 5star!
We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Upon our arrival the porter didn’t bother to say hello or offer a smile! The receptionist or any of staff who were staying there and doing nothing didn’t offer to help us with our luggages or walk us to our room which was in 9th floor and needed proper navigating to be found. The temperature was around 1 degree in Berlin when we arrived at the hotel. The room was cold. Despite the fact that we confirmed our reservation and they were expecting us they didn’t bother to turn the room hitting on. Next day we asked for room service and shockingly they only cleaned the room without replacing the empty shower gel, shampoo, hair cap etc tubes and we found that when in the morning we were rushing to take shower as we were going to a business meeting!! Do they really expect guests to pay for such an expensive service and do house keeping for them, bin the empty tubes so the room service people will notice that need replacement!! We had more or less such an unpleasant experience in Ritz Carlton Budapest last year (2019)so concluded not to use Ritz Carlton anymore.

The property is fantastic. The staff are exceptional. The room is comfortable and clean. The only reason I can only give four stars out of five is my frustration with the Club Lounge. Each time I tried to use it (which was several times between my arrival on 20.2 and today, 22.2), there were no seats or tables available for me to sit at. It was during Berlinale, so that probably had something to do with the crowding. The lounge is not very large, so any above-average volume of people will fill up the space and available seats very quickly. I received a lovely letter upon checking in that details the breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings in the Club, but I am unable to partake in them due to the crowding. Oh well.

To summarize, the staff are great. The property is nice and clean (and quiet). It's a great location. I would just advise against paying for a room on the Club Lounge floor, especially if it's during Berlinale

We have just returned from an overnight stay for Valentines Day at The Ritz.  Every corner of this hotel exudes luxury.

On arrival we were warmly greeted by staff and made our way to our room on the 5th floor.

Situated on Potzdamer Platz it is a prime location in Berlin.  The Sony Centre is next door and the Mall of Berlin is a couple of minutes away.

Our room was a deluxe king size room - large and spacious with a fantastic view of the hustle and bustle in this wonderful city.

The room had lots of amenities, I particularly liked the concept lighting.  There are 2 USB sockets on either side of the bed.  The minibar and coffee making facilities were well stocked and we enjoyed complimentary fruit and a valentines day cake which was a lovely touch.

One stand out feature is the automatic curtains - especially looking out at the city lights at night.

The marble bathroom featured his & hers sinks was well lit and had plenty of mirrors and underfloor heating.  The tub was huge and water pressure was very good too.  It comes complete with a range of complimentary Asprey toiletries.

A very comfortable and enjoyable stay.  Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful hotel with 5* service, well maintained and managed. We loved the room and it was very nice and quiet. Comfortable bed and efficient team. A special thanks goes to all the housekeeping team, especially Lucky and the morning cleaner lady (we never met but she did a good job). Club team Jouaqin, Chem and Amy which were amazing, the bellboy team and the guest experience team Milijan, Nadine, Lena, Max, Magdalena and Felix at front desk. Very efficient valet service. We highly recommend. We felt that everyone went out of their way to keep us happy.
Many TV channels from all the world as you would expect. A nespresso coffee machine is a nice addition. Beware coffee fans they stopped working with nespresso and changed to organic sustainable Swedish capsules. Unfortunately, Nespresso tastes better.
I recommend taking a suite as the facilities and bathrooms are newer and better although the bed size was smaller than in the standard king room if you prefer it.
Linen and towels smelled great and were in new condition at all times.
We would expect to have a better hair dryer equivalent to Dyson. The one there is old school and not very effective.
The food was good most of the time but there is still room for improvement with room service.
We would suggest that there would be someone at the spa/pool area to keep the order there as there was a big child jumping and doing dangerous stunts into the pool while other guests and small children were trying to enjoy it.
Swimming pool opening hours are fantastic and allow you to use it until 10pm and relax after a busy day.
Also 2 TV devices are the same brand were a bit annoying because the remote made both of them respond when you only wanted one :)
One thing that bothered us and should be checked is the attitude from the lady at the bar. We wanted to sit at a free table and she yelled at us and told us it is reserved. There was no one there and it was free. After checking with the guest experience team they told us the bar is walk in only so it doesn't make sense (she showed us a sign that said reserved in German on the table). We have a problem with the consistency of this incident but we didn't want this to ruin this lovely hotel's review and score.
There was a football team at the hotel while we were there with all the fans and the hotel managed it professionally and efficiently so we were not troubled by it at all. We were impressed.
The food was good most of the time but there is still room for improvement with room service especially in the evening. We would expect to get a consistent high quality of food all the time and not just occasionally.
Overall we would definitely return if they keep this level of service and improve the in room dining in the evenings.
The service awareness is top notch as you would get in any Ritz 24/7.
Brilliant location at Potsdamer Platz near many restaurants, shopping centers and more.

We visited Berlin on business. Our stay was very good in difficult times and all the staff were very friendly notwithstanding the requirements of COVID 19. It is difficult to differentiate team service but the concierge outside and the reception were particularly good and helpful. The rooms as expected were up to scratch and cleaning was done almost at request since we spent a lot of time in the room. The whole decor of the hotel was very nice worth opulence and ease. Well designed. We will come back and recommend the hotel to others.

If you are anything like me, I find picking the right hotel a crucial part of my holiday planning. Your aim is to be comfortable in a new city, whether you are just pit stopping or spending your whole days within the hotel walls. From start to finish The Ladies and Gentleman of the Ritz-Carlton made this trip memorable and special for me. It was a 5 star experience through and through.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by a bellboy who took our luggage outside the hotel. As it was my birthday, to my surprise, the hotel offered a complimentary Ritz-Carlton Mercedes car to drop me to our dinner reservations across town. Once we had arrived back to the hotel, we were greeted yet again with another kind gesture of champagne, a dessert and card to wish us a great stay. It was incredibly kind and their attention to detail was phenomenal. Whenever we needed help or advise, we had numerous people at hand to help and who wanted to genuinely make sure we were having a great time.

THE ROOM: As someone who suffers with OCD, a clean room is parietal to me and my trips. It's why I spend more on staying in 5 star hotels to avoid any disappointments. The room was very clean and the cleaning staff cleaned twice a day as well as leaving little touches in the room like notes or chocolate or things that were quintessential to the Berlin experience. They showed they cared and even though we didn't meet any of the cleaning staff members they too made it clear they wanted us to have a wonderful stay.

I would 100% stay again - it will be the only hotel I stay in, in Berlin. It truly is the best hotel in Berlin and I can't thank the Ladies and Gentlemen enough for such a wonderful stay. My favourite, hotel by far in Berlin and I have stayed at a few!

Stayed at the hotel for a long weekend with my son in December 23 for sightseeing / Xmas markets. Although we got a taxi from the airport the hotel is directly opposite Postdamer Platz metro station if needed. The hotel location is close (10 min walk) to both the gate and the Checkpoint Charlie so was an ideal choice for us to explore. The hotel is also very close (less than 5min) to several shopping malls and for us opposite the Postdamer Platz xmas market.
The hotel itself was an assuming from the outside but perfect from the inside. We were welcomed very well by the doormen and had a great experience at the check in.
The rooms were very clean and spacious (we had a twin room) with a large wardrobe and bathroom with separate WC and shower in addition to two sinks and a bath.
Room came with bottled water daily and Nespresso machine. We visited the gym and spa daily. The gym is well equipped and stocked with additional water and fruit/cereal bars. There are a range of cardio (runners, rowers, bikes etc) and free and machine weights (well equipped). The sauna was out of action when we were there, but we used the steam room - FYI these are mixed and generally people are naked in them (although we were not). The pool is small but ok for a dip, but you certainly couldn't exercise / do lengths in it. There are also changing rooms, lockers and showers which was great. The curtain club bar is great, although gets busy at the weekends and the breakfast is expansive and the service excellent so well worth the money, literally had anything you could imagine available for breakfast - cooked, cereals, pastries and a chef who could make up fresh pancakes, omelettes, waffles etc which my son enjoyed !
