The Hotel's 69 rooms, entirely renovated and air-conditioned, are contained in 3 small typical Parisian buildings joined by a courtyard and a garden. The largest building has 38 rooms overlooking the main street. Some, named "Paris Comfort" offers a balcony with stunning views of the Butte Montmartre and the Sacre-Coeur. The 25 rooms of the second building, called "Privilege" as is peacefully located in the yard and garden. Warm tones married to white duvets give their charm and intimacy. The 6 remaining rooms, named "Villa Cosi", renovated in warm colors are located in a charming town house, surprisingly quiet for the middle of Paris. The approach of our architects was to rethink the rooms as comfortable cocoons using a rational and highly practical layout to make all the services immediately accessible along the walls. The choice of materials and subtly contemporary colours give a chic touch of elegance and design to the decor. The comfort and modernity are enhanced by the presence of large flat screen television with TNT and satellite, new bedding with quilt instead of the traditional bedspreads.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed here previously as the location is great. On this occasion, however, the experience was not so good. Not entirely sure whether this was the room we had actually booked, as the description on Booking.com differed from what we experienced! Small room, cramped shower with no curtain/screen to stop the water flooding the floor. When asked to change all that was offered was a room with a supplement of 30€ a night!!! The reception staff were pleasant and friendly and breakfast good value. Would probably return, but not to the same room!

If you are looking for a good enough, reasonable priced (we paid €50 for a spacious room with 2 single beds), centralish enough hotel, Libertel is a fine option. We stayed 1 night and paid the tourist tax on top at the reception (I think it was €10.40 for the 2 of us for 1 night). The room is quite big (compared to others in this price range), clean and the bathroom was pretty nice too. We stayed at room 123, which faces the main road. This means there was some proper noise around 05:00 in the morning, since there is a supermarket nearby and I think they were loading/unloading stuff. I asked the receptionist when we arrived for a room that is quiet and she said they had some at the other side of the hotel, but were more expensive. So, bear that in mind in case you book the cheapest option (like us). It could be the ones facing the main road where the entrance is.
The bathroom had soap and shampoo, so no need to carry anything. They had 2 big and 2 small towels too, so all fine really. No mini-fridge in our room (unlike the photos), so bear that in mind, in case that's why you choose this hotel (at least our room didn't have any).
All in all, I would say it was a good enough option for us, but if the cost was higher (like taking the room looking at the back, to avoid the noise), I would probably look for other alternatives.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We are delighted to hear that you found our rooms to be spacious and appreciated the cleanliness, which we prioritize for a comfortable guest experience. However, we regret that you experienced some noise disturbance from outside activities. Our hotel is indeed located in a vibrant area of Paris, and while this brings the benefit of proximity to various attractions, it can sometimes also mean external noise is more noticeable. We always strive to provide a tranquil environment and offer rooms on the quieter side of the hotel as an alternative. We are glad you found the bathroom well-equipped with the necessary amenities for your stay. Regarding the mini-fridge, please note that these are available in our 'Club' room category. We understand how such amenities can enhance a guest's experience and offer different room categories to cater to various preferences and needs. With Libertel Canal Saint-Martin's commitment to guest satisfaction, we truly appreciate your comments as they help us to continue offering a pleasant stay to all our visitors. We hope to welcome you back. All the best. Bertrand AUBRY, Adjoint de Direction – Assistant Manager

Hotel is located in a nice location next to the Metro station Jaures. The hotel is basic which is perfect if you only want it as a base. You get free Wi-Fi and there is a McDonalds across the road if you dont want to pay for the hotels breakfast.

Thank you dear guest for your time. We appreciate reading many feedbacks everyday to understand what you really liked about our hotel. We are happy the location of the hotel suited you completely, as there are indeed many restaurants, shops, cafés, stores and points of interest around the hotel. Our self-service buffet breakfast can be chosen at the last minute if you wish to see our wide range of fresh and quality products first. The buffet is served each morning from 6:30 yo 10:30 AM (11:00 AM on weekends and holidays), which can be convenient if you leave early for work, for the airport, or if you need to relax in a quiet atmosphere. Also, the price (10€) can be interesting if you wish to enjoy a full french breakfast (6€ being the average price in a parisian café to order a coffee and a croissant only). Our staff is happy to guide you so you could make the most of your stay in Paris. At your service, Olivia - Libertel Canal Saint-Martin***

Positives of this hotel.
The staff we really friendly and polite. We were greeted every time we left and entered.
Room was okay, not what I expected with a sliding door for the toilet and open shower/sink area.
Location is brilliant, it’s right beside the metro.
Negatives
When we checked in we were told we got an upgrade, I have stayed in many hotels and this is the first time we had been given this & it made us hopeful for the room. However when we were walking to the room we realised we had to walk through a live construction site to reach the room. The site was operational from 8am to 5pm every day we stayed. We were woken at 8am by loud banging from hammers, noise from what appeared to be saws & conversations from the workers. If I was made aware of this I would have changed hotel.
I would love to attach videos of the banging noise unfortunately I can’t but they speak for themselves.
I feel the majority of people would have given this experience a one star, however I understand renovations are necessary. I just wish the area was closed and we had a different room.

Decent hotel with clean modern rooms. Thankfully the windows opened as it was stifling in the room even though it was 50 degree F outside. Monoprix right next store. Good bakery on the other side.
Shaya at the front desk was very nice and super helpful. Esther in the breakfast room was a delight and awesome. Lovely breakfast with lots of choices & good hours.
Only serious issue is that this hotel has funky stairs. To reach out room you have to go up a circular staircase where the steps were uneven and carpeted in a crazy geometric pattern that played with your depth perception especially as the lights go out automatically as it typical in Europe. There was an elevator but you still had to deal with about 6 stairs with your luggage.
Cool area at the confluence of St Martin's Canal (and an easy walk from the fabulous Place d'Republique area with lots of good restaurants and transportation connections) and 3 metro lines. On the edge of Paris near the Basin Villette.
We stayed here are our normal hotel of 25 years was fun because it was fashion week. We would do so again if that were the case.

Room is enough for a couple. Small but tidy. Cheap but satisfactory. Staffs are nice. Accessible to metro stations. Lots of restos and cafes nearby. Will come back maybe after strikes coz there are closed metro stations on some days.

Thank you for this 5-star review published about our 3-star hotel in Paris, located a few meters from the Canal Saint-Martin, the bassin de la Villette, the park of the Buttes Chaumont, many good places to eat, drink, shop... There is a covered market called the "Halle Secrétan" 2min walk only which could please you for your next stay. We are happy to read your satisfaction about our service and about our staff as we would like to confirm that metro, bus and other transportation near our hotel are running normally now. Stayed for 1 night, room had a view of the street which was nice. Big windows that open up and reasonable storage. Room was very clean and reasonably spacious. The bathroom got wet easily because the shower has no shower curtain but there isn't enough space to clear the water, bad design really. Staff were friendly. Located almost in front of the Jaures metro station. For a short stay (no more than 2 nights) I would stay here again.

Although the hotel is classed as only a 2 star superior I felt it was well worthy of being a three star. The room was fairly small but nice and had a colour tv (which actually included some english channels which was a bonus!).Continental breakfast was included which was good(especially the croissants and pain au chocolats) and there was always plenty to choose from. The hotel entrance is nice and is located on a central street full of shops, including chemists ,supermarkets, restaurants and Macdonalds. The hotel is only a few stops away on the metro fom Gare Du Nord so was brilliant for Eurostar arrivals(like us). The metro is 50 metres away from hotel and right outside hotel is a bus stop where bus no 26 takes you straight to Gare Du Nord as well. The road meets a central crossroads where there is the Canal St Martin which looks pretty. Arounds this are a few brasseries and restaurants.Although this hotel is slightly further out,its great cos its slightly cheaper and the metro is so easy to use and efficient we had no problem getting around all of Paris.A good clean hotel with nice rooms and lots of handy amenitie nearby(cash machines,chemists,supermarkets,metro...etc)
We were there for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Hi,
Yes in the room we had I could blowdry my hair in front of the mirror.
Hello dear guest, all our rooms are equipped with an hairdryer in the bathroom. If you wish to bring yours, there will be electric sockets in the room to use it at your convenience.
We are happy to welcome you soon.
Best,
Olivia - Libertel Canal Saint-Martin***
It is easy, with the train to Gare Nord. It is cheap ticket, hotel is near station.
Hi
If ALL taxes and fees are included in your booking then there shouldn't be anything extra but when we went in May we had to pay a city tax direct to the hotel of €4.95 each ( for a 3 night stay) when we got there. So you may be charged that tax but it should be mentioned in the small print somewhere if it's not included in your price.
I'd allow for it anyway to be on the safe side.
