My husband and I are locals from Campbell river who have enjoyed staying here often. We have five kids and appreciate the serene atmosphere and breathtaking views to reconnect after he gets home from working out of town. This has been our go-to resort but after the experience this morning we will not be returning.
We have stayed in most of the cabins, and the mobile home but this time we stayed in the 2 bedroom ocean front, cabin 9, as our favourite, cabin 8 was unavailable. It also happens to be the most expensive, but I was looking forward to having the unobstructed views and watching the wind and clouds that was the weather yesterday.
This morning as I enjoyed this view with my coffee, I saw a golf cart loaded with cleaning supplies drive and do a loop in front of the cabin. This was at 10:30. I didn’t think much and we shortly started to pack up and had everything organized to go with a table full of our left over groceries on the table and our bags by the door. We enjoy making a fancy meal when we stay, having 5 kids you indulge in the things you may not afford at home.
It was 11:05 and my husband was just finishing drying the dishes when I saw the golf cart come and do a loop but this time she came and parked in front of our cabin. I went and opened the door and said “Hello”
She says “Monica asked me to come over and tell you guys that check-out is at 11:00.”
I was a little surprised as it was only 11:05 and said we are all packed up but will be about 10 minutes and that we Would stop in at the office.
We were in the office at 11:16 and I had to tell her that I was disappointed with the treatment that morning. I said that I could understand if I was still in the room at 11:30 to send someone to tell us to leave but it was 5 minutes after check-out.
It really felt like they didn’t appreciate us as guests, people that have stayed several times over the past couple years. Really disappointing and to be frank, very upsetting. It was like they were saying “Time to leave, hurry up, get your stuff and get out”.
This is not the kind of customer service that makes me want to return.

The cabins have a great location near the ocean point and sheltered by large trees offering cool shade on sunny days. The cabins have every amenity: clean non perfumed bedding and towels, a full stove and fridge with pots, dishes, toaster, kettles and outside a new Weber BBQ c/w propane tank on the veranda. The view is spectacular 180 degrees clear to Campbell River in the North, the magnificent Coastal mountains fronted by the Salish sea. Beautiful unobstructed sunrises and sunsets from the open point c/w fire pits and chairs.

We just spent time at this very nice RV Park on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
If visitors are looking to work WIFI in with their visit , I would avoid this park. It has many of the activities that are very entertaining but the WIFI is not just lacking, it is terrible. When you approach the management, they tell you that the wifi is only for email. That excuse worked 10 years ago, but today business people, along with vacationers use parks like this. As a business person, I need to do my banking and my business operation from my motor home. I also sometimes have to stream video’s off of Youtube as a business information or training requirement.
This Park , even using their email – you will be on and then bumped off instantly. They still charge the same rates as parks that have internet with enough broadband to handle even Netflix.
I would recommend that many of the 1 million plus members bypass this park until they have improved their WIFI. It is a beautiful, but frustrating Park to rent time at.

Thank you for your comments on then park wi fi. It is important that our customers know that the wi fi is very limited and that they do not arrive with expectations beyond our control. We are hoping to upgrade in the future but for now if visitors require a solid connection it is highly recommended that they prearrange their own data package. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the other ammenities that the park had to offer and we hope to see you again. Larry and Mona

clean, well maintained park. Ocean front. Many amenities including pool, hot tub, laundry, horse shoes, games room, small store. Nice hike to nearby beach. Shopping close by, short distance to city. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. RV sites are large and good wifi. Small suggestion to put dust lay down on ramp/road to boat launch.

My husband and I spent a weekend in April in the lighthouse area in our RV. The grounds are beautiful maintained and well run. The reservation proceeds was very easy, the rates extremely reasonable, and they have some great amenities including a seasonal pool, hot tub, playground, communal fire pits and even a pizza food truck on site. There are full hook ups including wifi, which was strong enough to stream Netflix at night in our RV. We enjoyed beach fires, long beach walks, and watching eagles fishing right off our campsite. We will definitely be back!

Monica and her husband (the management) are first class. After arriving and one night at our spot we had real issues with the wifi (out in the lighthouse section which is very poor and really need to upgrade it) and my wife was getting a allergic reaction to something out there. We asked if we could move but we understood that the park was fully booked but Monica said she would work on it and see if they could accommodate us. After a couple of hours she and her husband asked if I would come and have a look at a site and see if it would work and they would make 2 spots into one to accommodate my bigger RV.
It fixed all of our issues and I can’t say enough about how they try to help out when possible.
Thanks again.

It is ridiculous to have to drive all the way to Tim Hortons in Campbell River to use Wifi. We have been here for 6 days and have been unable (except very intermittently and for short periods) been able to access the Wifi. I expected better for $59 per night. Staff attitude about it is less than helpful and certainly unsympathetic. The frustration with this made us want to leave, but we are unable to get a refund at this point. Lovely park physically, but we will not be back. Not acceptable in this day and age.

I do appreciate and apologize for your total frustration in the current WiFi. My husband and I took over as Managers this spring and inherited the existing WiFi network. We are actively seeking better options for our guests but sadly it will take some time and none of that can improve the experience that you had. We do ask the staff to be honest about its limitations in an effort to manage expectations until such time as the network is improved but it sounds as if that was not well communicated to you and for that I am very sorry. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, it not only helps other guests but it helps us too in doing a better job of communicating our amenities with customers. Regards, Mona Kennedy, Resort Manager

It was my birthday so my wife, daughter and husband spent 3 wonderful nights at this fantastic resort in Cottage 9..It had 2 bedrooms, complete kitchen with all the essentials and also had a wood stove with enough firewood for 3 nights. Very clean resort and quite. We also had a pizza at the pizza truck on site...expensive but very good. Had a campfire on the beach as well...Would recommend .

Ive been coming here for 10 plus years..it was always well run, clean and fun. This year is somehow even better! Washrooms, super clean, sites well groomed and clean. The staff is so awesome from Dan to Ken to September ! I appreciate all of you more each year! My favourite place in the world! Only bad thing is that WiFi sucks real bad...think of dial up modem trying to download a Napster song and waiting 4 hours to get it...yes that bad. But first world problem and in the grand scheme a very small knock!

If you are looking for a clean- friendly- well run property this is it. The staff works hard to accommodate you, help fix your car or plumbing, Excellent marina- just can’t say enough good things.

Stayed 2 nights and was fortunate to get a waterfront site in the Lighthouse section. Office loaned me an adapter for power source, even when closed. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Views are stunning which was topped off with 5 Humpback whales performing out front. Not to mention the sunrises. Only down side was the Wi-Fi was not useable. Would definitely return.
